Ive been trotting around the United States my whole life and recently my travels have found me here in lovely Colorado. Moving around comes with its own challenges ... one of which is finding a reliable stylist that will have you looking your best. Because of my lack of knowledge Ill generally rely on the suggestions of friends and family in the area. Thats what brought me to Genesis Salon--the recommendation of my Aunt who has been going here as long as shes lived in Colorado. In fact, she makes an hour-long trek all the way from up in the Wet Mountains down to the Springs just to get her hair cut at Genesis. After she raved and raved about Aaron and his supposed magic touch with hair, I looked forward to booking an appointment with him and for the first time she and I booked back to back and went together. My hair was a little worse for wear and wasnt adjusting very well to the dry Colorado climate. It was frazzled and pretty rough looking. Well, Aaron did just as my Aunt promised: he gave my hair the magic touch. I kind of just told him that I trusted his judgement, but he spent time talking to me about my needs and desires for my hair and he spent a good amount of time just feeling and messing with my hair to get an idea of how thick it was, movement, etc. He got to know my hair. That really, really impressed me. Then he washed my hair, and that was amazing. It felt like a spa treatment more than just getting a shampoo. And of course he cut and styled it. He really took his time and kind of explained his vision and what he was doing so I felt really comfortable the whole time. Ive gotten a lot of good haircuts, but what really set the experience with Aaron apart was his great personality and his friendliness. Im an introvert and I hate the awkward small talk that can sometimes happen at the Salon. But Aaron is a brilliant conversationalist and had me laughing and just enjoying the encounter. He made me feel gorgeous before I ever saw how my hair even looked just by virtue of how he treated me. I had a blast just talking to him ... no awkward small talk, no equally awkward silences. Just natural conversation with a man who very obviously loves what he does and loves people. And the real proof is in the pudding (whatever that means): my hair looked incredible. It felt incredible. I walked out of there feeling like I was glowing and my confidence went through the roof. It was really all-around an amazing experience that had me wanting to actually keep up with the every-6-weeks haircut regimen. Definitely check out Genesis and see Aaron: you wont be disappointed and youll get the attention you deserve. Theres a huge difference in the results you get from someone whos passionate about what they do and youll see those results. As far as prices go, they honestly seemed really reasonable for a Spa/Salon combo. And for the personal treatment and care I got, I had no problem paying and left a decent tip, too. Now Ill be taking the hour-long drive into the Springs for the special magic touch of Aaron, too. I highly recommend the Genesis Salon experience.

I have been visiting Crystal every 6 weeks for the last 3 years and have NEVER had a bad experience. I am extremely picky about my cuts and had bounced from one stylist to another for about 7 years when I first moved to Colorado. I had even used a stylist that was recommended through my acting/modeling agency a few years prior and always went home immediately after and restyled my own hair because I was never happy with it. The first time I saw Crystal I was actually booked with a different stylist but there had been a time mix-up so Crystal took me as a walk-in within an hour... best mix-up ever! I got married at the end of May and went to get my hair trimmed 2 days prior to the ceremony. I would never have done that with any other stylist as I would need at least a week to come to terms with the cuts before. I would definitely recommend Genesis Salon, especially Crystal, to everyone. Everyone there is friendly and professional and the salon itself has a wonderfully comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

Being new to the area I was unsure where to go to get my hair done. I am very picky and rarely get what I want (I accept responsibility for part of this). I decided to hop on the web and see what salons were in the area, and I found Genesis Salon. I made an appointment with Crystal and I am so glad I did. She took the time to talk to me for several minutes to verify what I was looking for - not just what I wanted but what I didnt want. After we came to a decided conclusion, she got started, but never rushed. I left with beautiful hair, the color was great and she was creative with the highlights, really setting me apart! If you are looking for a new stylist, as I was, go see Crystal!

I planned a destination wedding in Colorado and I was kind of nervous about getting my hair done since I didnt have time for a trial. There was no need to worry. Genesis Salon is amazing, from the wonderful customer service to the beautiful hair style that Aaron gave me. I was also very grateful to have my makeup done last minute which gave me one less thing to worry about doing myself. I loved the time and attention that was given to not only me, but my mother and sister as well. I highly recommend Genesis to anyone looking for a great salon in the Colorado Springs area. And if we ever end up moving there, Ill already have a salon. :)

Ive gone to Crystal for the past 3 years. Shes amazing! My hair has never looked so good. Crystal has always done what Ive asked whether it be a specific cut or just telling her to have fun and make it look great (and thats usually when it looks the best!). She always takes the time to explain what shes doing...how to style, products, etc without trying to sell you anything you dont need or want. Shes a great stylist, super friendly and easy to get along with, and I recommend her to everyone! Lets not forget the salon.. its pretty awesome too ;) Everyone is super friendly and it feels high end without the "im better than you" attitude.

I had tried several stylists upon moving to Colorado Springs and I was disappointed every time. A new friend referred me to Crystal Watson at Genesis - I live on the East side of town and I was a little hesitant to drive *all the way* downtown, but I made the trek anyhow. Well, Ive been going to see her every 6-8wks since then because her work is absolutely meticulous and phenomenal! At my first appointment, she spent so much time just "getting to know" my hair and listening to what I wanted. She cuts it marvelously and I am never disappointed! Crystal is awesome. Make an appointment with her now. No, seriously, do it... now!

I was here a week ago. Got my hair glazed and here I am back to my original hair color. I went in for a promotion and was upsold on this glaze technique. I trusted the stylist, who did not tell me my color was a short term as I wanted the baylayage with the promotion anyway. I ended up paying an extra $25 for semi-permanent product, I dont think Ive ever been charged for product at a salon. My trim went well... so now i have the exact same hair only I paid way too much for the glitz. Disappointed to say the least. Probably the last time I trust the artist to do their magic and not rip me off too.
