This weekend while in Colorado we (the ladies) went to a "float spa" called REST Float Solutions. Neither of us had floated before, we didnt know what to expect. The entrance is decorated with beautiful paintings from a local artist (I think). We walked in and were greeted by the "float staff" at the front desk. While we waited in the lobby we checked out their selection of quite cute yoga and activewear. The space also has a yoga studio. The space is finely decorated and smells wonderful. Its quiet and peaceful. The float tech (yep, thats what I am calling them) who was helping us showed us the massage chair room which is a room with various massage chairs, but not like your typical massage chairs. These chairs have heated jade stones in them, like long skinny rollers and they would roll on and off your body very quickly. You are tilted back at an angle for a "zero gravity" experience. After our massage chairs, our "float tech" showed us a room and explained how the process works. I really wanted the full experience with the float and closed the hatch door ALL the way. I am not going to lie. I freaked out. I couldnt find the door and it was kind of frightening, lol! I folded up a wash cloth and stuck it in the door to allow a little light in (the lights are very dim, I turned them down) just to get comfortable. Its not really stuffy or confining. The tank is pretty big once you get in. Probably about 6-7 ft long by 4-5ft wide and when I sat up, I had a good 1-2 ft of head clearance still. You literally feel like you are floating into endless space when you float. You cant see the walls so you dont know any better (unless you accidently bump into one). After a while I was brave and shut the door completely now that I was comfortable with it and floated into endless darkness for 90 minutes. I had a hard time relaxing my neck but once I got comfortable it was amazing. It really feels great to have little stress on your bones and joints. Its so cool because you float and you can just stretch out without a care. I heard a lot of cracking and popping in my bones and joints, lol. The facility provides a pool noodle and inflatable neck pillow if you cant get comfortable while floating. Its really hard to release your neck, I tell you what! I had to keep relaxing myself because I always tense my neck. When your time is up, the "get out of the tank" track plays, which is windchimes meditation track. You open the hatch and get out. Stand there for a minute and realize how heavy gravity is and then go take a shower (private shower in the same room), very luxe. Shortly after you turn on the shower the tank does its self-cleaning cycles. Since you are floating, half of your body dries to the air and you get salt crystallization on you, which I thought was kind of cool haha. My skin felt so silky and smooth after the float. My skin looked really good and my posture was improved. It really helped me decompress. At this facility, everything is literally provided for you... complimentary tea in the lobby, wax ear plugs, towels, wash cloths, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner (all from whole foods), bath robe, lotion, bath mats, contact lens solution and container, q-tips, vaseline to cover any open cuts or sores to protect them from the salts, bottled water, tissues, a spray bottle with fresh water to spritz your face and even a little chocolate. They do a great job of decorating the rooms so that the "ugly" parts, the mechanics of the machine is hidden - but accessible to staff in case something happens. My room was equipped with a Himalayan salt lamp and an oil diffuser. The only thing that was really missing was a disposable comb to get through my hair afterwards haha. I am glad I had a brush in my purse. All of this for $65 retail for 90+ minutes! They also have a military discount.

I almost never do reviews but this place deserved one. This is my first time ever doing anything of this nature (spa/relaxation/massage etc.) The lady who walked me through the process was very friendly, knowledgeable, and cute might i add. For the first part i was put in a massage chair. Althought this wasnt a typical massage chair, its hard to describe, but it was a lot softer and more gentle than anything ive had before. Still nice. Then came the sensory deprivation tank or float tank. It was big. Im 6 3" and i could stretch my arms above my head, extend my legs and just touch the ends. First impressions, this is nice af. It was a very new and nice experience to just float, just be. The water is set at 96 degrees (close to skin temp) and the music that plays actually affects the brains waves or something like that to help you relax. I chose to have the music play for the first hour and the last 30 mins be silent. Towards the end of the music i did find myself to start falling asleep but i would jerk awake for some reason. It took me about 20 mins to really get into it but once i was able to just go blank and truly relax, it was very freeing. However i did start to get a little nauseous but i believe it to be because i get sea sick and this is more or less similar (same concept of moving without the visual confirmation which makes your brain think youve been poisend which makes you feel sick to throw it up) to offset this i held my arms out to the sides so hands would make contact which would physically and mentally let me know im still. the only bad thing was that the fan didnt work in my tank and i had to either keep it cracked or open it every once in a while. They have all the amenities you can ask for, silicon earplugs, vaseline for cuts, water spray if you get salt in your eyes, water bottle, contact lens holders, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryers, and even a little chocolate. I train in mma and lift weights but today was my off day so I wasnt to sore, but i could definitely see this being beneficial after a good workout. I felt really good and relaxed after the whole session. Most definitely will be coming back. With a military discount its only 45 dollars on tuesdays which i think is a good deal if your doing this everyonce in a while. Try them out, i doubt youll regret it.

This should be explored for anyone with anxiety, depression, PTSD, TBI l, or behavioral issues. Its a great approach to therapy and can benefit anyone. Give it a shot, but prepare to try it multiple times to get comfortable and get the full benefits from it. Staff, equipment, and location are great.
