My first hair cut here was great as was my second. I called to schedule the 3rd and the lady told me that the girl that cut my hair last time was not in so I told her that I can go ahead and wait when will she be in next time and she insisted that I can get my hair cut by someone else and I told her I would not feel comfortable having a Lower Level Barber cutting my hair because my hair means a lot to me and she told me they were all booked up for today but if there was an opening or cancellation they can go ahead and get me in and she called back 10 minutes later saying she had a barber that can cut my hair so I went in at the appointment time at 1:15 and she took me back and I was telling her what I wanted done with my hair she said that I must be the wrong person because she was booked to shave somebody but I told them I needed my head and my line done with a straight razor and she started going with it and as the haircut progressed other Barbers came up and started questioning what she was doing and telling her what they would have done differently and by the end of the haircut I ended up giving her some gratuity and paying for a shave because I felt bad for her struggling but when I got home I looked in the mirror at my hair and the line that defines my haircut was completely crooked no definition and not all the way through to the front of my head fully embarrassing me I was told many jokes about who cut my hair and I dont think its funny because I pay a lot of money to get my hair cut and I dont deserve to be made fun of I dont know why I listened and let someone else cut my hair!

Growing up, my dad used to treat me to a nice haircut before Homecoming and Prom and other special occasions. When I moved to Denver, I made do with quick cheap haircuts for a while, but I wanted to find something better. I decided to try GQ Barber Lounge and have loved every visit. The entrance looks like youre walking into a classic cigar bar with green velvet wingback chairs and hard wood floors. Youre offered a beverage as you hang out, (and it is worth showing up a minute or two early to wind down). The actual haircut is a premium experience, complete with a shoulder rub, a hot towel and a very skilled cut. The more I go, the better my cuts get. My stylist, Shayla has a small docier of notes so I dont ever have to give input on how I like it. I think my favorite part is that our conversation is actually very real and personable; I have never experienced any of the classic barber small talk. I have recommended the shop to friends and everyone agrees: this place and the experience it provides is certainly worth the extra penny.

Very poor haircut, after years of pleasant service this place is taking a nose dive. I was in a few days ago to have a cut, mostly to even out the mistakes made by another cheaper barber, however upon leaving and washing out the massive amount of product she used without asking, I realized this stylist didnt even ANYTHING out, and there is more to be fixed than when I went in.. but now I am lacking the length to have any repairs done. FUrther, the unprofessional stylist informed he that this was her last (our first) haircut as she was moving to las vegas to move in with a sugar daddy. SUPER unprofessional, I dont feel comfortable returning to their salon as Ive been through more than a dozen stylists, and none have stayed more than a few months. A consistent relationship is necessary with stylists, otherwise I would have more familiarity with my hair than them (as evidenced by giving MYSELF a better cut that the most recent experience).

Look no further! Fantastic customer service, experienced stylists and a great ambiance. Whether youre looking for a basic cut, or a seeking out a scalp treatment, this establishment will fully take care your needs. Booking appointments are easy online, in person or over the phone, and reminders come via text and email. GQ is also quite accessible, w/ a great location downtown. Shayla has been cutting my hair for nearly a year and I cannot say enough about her attention to detail and customer satisfaction. She takes pride in her work and constantly wants to improve. She asks questions, shes very consistent from cut to cut and shes quite in tune to any and every request that you might have -- ensuring you truly leave happy. Very thankful to have such a reliable and skilled professional, who honestly cares about their work/end result. Again, look no further! Thanks, GQ Staff!

Called and set up and appointment for my friend to get a haircut and for me to get a haircut and a shave. We showed up and was told I would have to wait another hour after my haircut to get the shave and then I had to describe to my barber, if he can even be called that, what a medium fade is and hold his hand through the entire haircut. This haircut cost 15 dollars max anywhere else. I will never be going here again 42 dollars for a haircut any barber can do is just ridiculous. When asked if he could do a razor fade he said yes and made it seem like he was doing me a favor and said he shouldnt be doing it cause they are supposed to set aside an hour for it which is just plain stupid it takes 10 minutes to do. The complimentary hot towel, neck shave, and massage is a complete lie, save your money and go to a true barber shop.

After years of visiting multiple barbers, hair salons and hair stylists, never satisfying two of the most important people in my life, my wife and my daughter, coming home from those experiences to the "silent treatment", or worse, negative comments on the outcome. Earlier this year, I visited GQ Barber Lounge, enjoyed the hospitality and pampering from the entire staff, returned home and was welcomed with comments such as, "your hair looks great" and "you look younger", needless to say, I am hooked and impressing those two very important people is the reward!

This place is amazing. The prices are what Id expect from a top notch Barber in downtown Denver, but the service is worth it. Shayla is by far the best stylist Ive ever had. Im pretty picky about the folks that cut my hair, and she knocked it out of the park the first time. Shes obsessed with quality, always listens to what I want, and never forgets the little touches that make all the difference. She impressed me so much that I signed up for a membership so I can go see her every 2 weeks. As long as Shayla is around, Ill keep coming back for more.

Everyone should do this. I was offered a Stella in a chalice--the kind with the gold rim, like its supposed to be--and expertly tended to head to toe by Elisabeth, who also gave me grooming tips to make sure I got my moneys worth in between visits. My wife took one look at my haircut and told me I cant ever go anywhere else, in 20 years this is the first time youve had your hair cut by someone who tried to understand your head...she said some other stuff, too, Im pretty sure. Ill be back in a couple weeks for a free neck trim and a Stella.
