I have two sons at Educational Playcare in Avon. One is 15 months and the other is almost 3. Ed. PC offers a great service with flexibility I couldnt find anywhere else. Their hours are great. The educators program is great in that, as a teacher, I can take my kids out of day care during school vacations and dont have to pay for that week. The food is incredible. Great variety each week without it being lots of processed food. They offer age appropriate activities that keep my kids interested and involved. They do a great job with toilet training starting in the 2 year old building. The 2 year old building also has a "gross motor room" which is basically an indoor area for the days that it is too cold or wet to go outside. The play grounds at each building are amazing. My 2 year old loves his teachers and friends. He asks to go back every evening on the way home. The teachers are great all the time but I really appreciate their support during teary morning drop offs. Theyre great at helping my kids say goodbye and then getting them distracted and involved in activities. The teachers send pictures and videos during the day of what the boys are doing. The array of other services they offer are amazing; haircuts, school photos, family dinner pick up (facilitating dinner ordering from a local restaurant). Absolutely outstanding!

Weve been sending our 3 girls to the EPC in Avon for nearly 4 years now. My girls are currently ages 6, 5 and 15 months. All 3 absolutely love EPC and they have all grown and learned so much from the program. All of my kids have substantial food allergies and EPC Avon is so great about making sure my kids eat only what is safe for them. It is a large program that is run like a school and due to the size they can offer more options for families. There are many children in each age group and many teachers in each building to accommodate various needs in each classroom. They are accredited so there is a detailed curriculum and strict standards they are held to. I feel like my kids are safest here because of the size and the amount of adults involved in the care of the children. No one daycare is perfect. If you are looking for a large program that offers variety, has clear rules and regulations, runs like a school and has support structures in place EPC is a good place to start.

My daughter is 14 months old and learning every day! Since day one at EPC I have loved all of her teachers and everything they do. They have always been competent, caring, and understanding. She has so much fun and is already so smart! Whats different about EPC is that there is an actual curriculum in place for every age group, the arts and enrichment program, which focuses on yoga and physical activity. And music & me which is usually a few musical instruments/accessories practicing sounds and rhythm, with a story and a song is more than amazing. Tadpoles- who wouldnt love to see pictures of their kids smiling and having fun throughout the day, all sent by email, along with daily reports, health concerns and any facility notifications. There are numerous playgrounds and activities with age appropriate toys everywhere. I have always felt so comfortable with the staff chosen for my daughter so far, and I have no doubt that she will be happy moving forward!

We currently have a daughter in the Chickadee/infant program and she loves it! Even at the young age of 6 months, I could tell she was so excited to arrive. She practically jumps out of her carseat. She clearly feels safe, loved and well-cared for. I also feel very confident in the care she receives. My son attended when he was 2 years old as a Flamingo and also had a great experience. There are so many extra perks that help busy families as well! I love that meals are included, there is a diaper service and you can have your childs haircut right there and save precious family time on the weekend. They are always adding new ideas and conveniences. The community at EPC is amazing and they are so caring. A couple of years ago, our family went through a tragic event and everyone; staff and parents showed us a huge amount of support. It is a very special place.

Hello from Lauren O Events
I cant say enough good things about EPC. Our son started in August 2013 and stayed in the program for three years. During his time there he learned so much including - sign language, his numbers and letters and how to be a good community citizen via EPCs practice of taking the kids to the local retirement home to spend time with the residents there. We welcomed a daughter in March of 2015 and EPC was our absolute first choice. The teachers there prove time and time again that they love children, care deeply about their well being and go above and beyond to prepare them for kindergarten. We receive photos, daily progress reports and are privy to an open line of communication with everyone on staff from the teachers to the owners, The Pastors. With so much to worry about its a true comfort to never have to worry about my child while in the care of EPC.

Both of my sons have gone to EPC. My 3-year-old is currently there. I have been an EPC mom since 2010. In my opinion there is NO better childcare education center than Educational Playcare. The teaching staff and directors are attentive, friendly, educated professionals. They honestly care about the children and families at the centers. There is no question in my mind, if you are looking for a daycare center find an EPC near you home or near your place of employment. They are all over CT. The programs they offer within the structured school day are outstanding. Music, movement, yoga and foriegn language curriculum. From top to bottom EPC is #1!

Our daughter is learning a lot, we really like how engaged they keep her. She gets to dance, sing and paint, everything she loves doing. We really like the layout of the day care, its open so that you can hear whats going on in other classes and can see too if you take a peek. We feel that adds a sense of safety for the kids. The only complaint we have had is, and which may not be totally in control of the day care, is that we dont get to know which teachers are taking care of our daughter in case someone is absent or if someone leaves a job. It would be nice to know in the notes who took care of our daughter that particular day.

Our two Daughters are currently in the Flamingos classroom. They look forward to going everyday. The staff is great with the girls and very responsive with any questions we have. We love that the girls are being exposed to music, art, sign language, dance and even yoga! Access to the Tadpoles app is also something we absolutely love. Getting daily reports and photos is something I look forward to. They are thriving in this environment and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Educational Playcare to friends and family.

What can I say about EPC other than my child has blossomed there. Do not hesitate about sending your child here--it is a great investment in their foundation. My son has been going there since he was 4 months old--he is entering Kindergarten this year--very prepared. In fact, we love this place so much he will be taking the bus from school to EPC for after school care! They have real teachers with real curricula. They have taught my son how to interact in social situations. They have loved my son.
