La Cuisine catered my wedding in September (2010) and it was nothing short of incredible. The food was superb. Not just good, not just great, but truly exquisite. In addition to suggesting, preparing and serving the perfect food, they found the perfect table cloths, the perfect wine distributor, the perfectly trained staff! It is hard to find a caterer who is focused on the whole "look" of your event. Not just the tasty morsels, but the positioning of the band, the curve of the chairs....a caterer who doesnt just cater, but who incorporates your own style, flair and personality into a seamlessly executed experience for both you and your guests. And that’s what I wanted. A perfect experience. My wedding had about 150 guests. The food was endless. Even though I pushed back the entire event timeline by 45 minutes due to the late arrival of a very important guest, La Cuisine handled it. The food was plentiful (more than plentiful actually) and I am still receiving praise from my guests about both the quantity and quality. Everything was cooked perfectly. I wanted my guests to delight in the food, yes (and they did!) but also to be impressed by the presentation of the food. I’ve worked with many caterers for many different kinds of events, and have never found a caterer who is as reliable, contentious, and creative. La Cuisine isn’t just about food (though if they were, they’d be justifiably classified as beyond excellent). They create the more essential “ambience”. I worked with Micheal Bosco and found the experience so positive, I have worked with him again, and will continue to do so. He has an instinct for design, a head for details, and a way of anticipating my every want before I have even expressed them. You will never regret using La Cuisine!

Drive around long enough and youll find that La Cuisine has one of the best breakfast menus anywhere east of New Haven. It always seems a little bit different each time I go in there. I think the owners are trying hard to evolve and make it the best it can be. True, it is across from the Transfer Station but once you walk into the place, your focused on fresh baked chocolate croissants and brioche immediately. So, who really cares at that point. The staff is hard working, attentive and courteous. I know this because I see how they bend over backwards to accommodate you people who seem to think bringing your 4 y/o brat to wreck the place on a Sunday morning is a good idea. (please go to IHOP, thank you). Ive never had to wait for a table more than a few moments on a busy weekend. Ive also grown confident with the specials menu and fresh baked goods are still hot in the morning if you are early enough. They serve their own blend coffee (Willoughbys) which is usually great and farm fresh materials make the difference in plates like omelettes, etc.. The prices are very reasonable considering the level of materials used. Ive come to find that it costs the same to eat at La Cuisine as it does the Parthenon Diner, Veggie Diner in Guilford, Twin Pines Diner, Meadow Muffins, Main St. Cafe and certainly less pricey than The Waiting Station... So, when you are cruising around the area looking a nice spot for breakfast, I think this is your best option. I should also mention that parking is abundant and the bathrooms are uber clean and spacious.

My husband and I signed on Micheal Bosco and his crew to cater our July 24th wedding in New Haven roughly six months prior to the event. He and I live overseas and had been rather daunted by the task of finding someone trustworthy to arrange the details of our reception almost entirely via email and skype, but Micheal was forthright in his willingness to accommodate an absentee client and so we signed with La Cuisine. When I finally met Micheal just one month before the wedding, he was as organized and professional in person as he had proven himself to be through months of electronic contact. Our wedding day celebrations were absolutely everything we hoped they would be, and so much of that is due to Micheal and his crew being on top of their game, anticipating our needs and those of our guests before we knew to ask for their assistance. When a medical crisis arose during our cocktail hour, Micheal handled the situation with a finesse and sensitivity that any client would want from their caterer in such a situation. The staff were diligent and pleasant, the food was superb and the décor was precisely what we had talked through and envisioned. Peter and I are so grateful to Micheal and to the La Cuisine catering staff who so carefully and thoughtfully executed our event as though it were their very own. Thank you, La Cuisine, for exceeding our expectations in every way.

Working with La Cuisine was amazing for our wedding. We used them for the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. The food was amazing, the service perfect... We had our wedding out on an island with no services - meaning they brought everything to the island via barge. Every table, chair, fork... all the food, the grills to cook on, EVERYTHING. The staff worked night and day for 4 days to make our wedding perfect for all of us. Even after a mishap with the cake on the boat ride over, they went back to shore, baked another one and got it to our reception prior to dinner being served. Our wedding was a fairytale, something people raved about... Ive heard since that it was "the best wedding we have ever been to" from a number of guests. Thank you to all those at La Cuisine that made it a wonderful day.

We used to go to La cuisine for lunch every couple of weeks. We loved the food and the market. The biggest problem is the attitude of the staff. First the owner is extremely condescending, The waitresses are even worse. Look like theyre from the out of the hood program you have to ask 5 times for utensils or sugar even when they have only one table to care for. They walk right past you and pretend not to see you. Unreal. Prices are also high and yes not everything is good. Compared to any big city they are nothing more than average, but obviously in front of the Branford dump (thats where they are located), they have little competition and consider themselves out of this world. Its all relative. Drop the attitude and get real!

A terrific place - Ive been to the market dozens of times for breakfast or lunch, and I rarely leave without picking up something for dinner. The food is very good (especially welcome considering theres nothing of comparable quality nearby), and over the years Ive been going, the service has been remarkably consistent in its professionalism and warmth. Ive also used La Cuisine for catering a lunch for 100+ guests under pretty challenging conditions. The food was very good and beautifully presented. Again, I was impressed with the staff -friendly and yet unobtrusive. The planning process was smooth and easy, and Michael listened closely to all my ideas and improved them. Highly recommended.

The food is good but expensive. I am through with using them because I just got 2 dozen crab cakes for $40, which came in a big foil catering tray but turned out to be the size of gumballs. They are equivalent to about 4 normal-size crabcakes, and I just do not feel like I have gotten close to my moneys worth. Also, they catered my wedding--and the food *was* good--but I asked for an ivory cake and they gave me a yellow and purple one. No kidding! I hate looking at the pictures with the cake in them because it looks like Easter or a preschool birthday party or something. I am just disappointed with La Cuisine.
