I have sent my daughter to Stepping Stones for the 3-year old and 4-year old nursury school programs. We first chose the daycare because of its emphasis on traditional schooling. They have classrooms with chalk boards and cork boards with lots of those cute little name names for attendance that will make you nostalgic for kindergarden. If staying the whole day for day care, the kids play in another room and are moved into the classrooms for preschool for their learning session at no extra charge. Since my kids had a nanny, I felt that this serious schooling time was the best way to acclimate them to the public school system. They distribute semester report cards and each session has outdoor playtime and snack time during their nursury school session so they can enjoy the social experience as well. For the day care aspect (which we sent my daughter to for full days during her 3-year old program because it didnt cost much more and she loved it), the kids spend a lot of time socializing, reading, coloring, and singing group songs. The 2.5-hour nursury school session is included in the day care day so you can not lose! For pricing, I found Stepping Stones to be one of the (if not the) most competative in the Avon area. The directors are friendly and caring--obviously really love kids and enjoy what they are doing. The kids go on nature walks on the school grounds, which are lovey. I just cant say enough good things. The day care and school are always spotless, the kids are always well behaved and enjoying themselves: there are no screaming children in the background when you call on the phone like most daycares...but perhaps that is because they I do not believe that they accept kids under 3!. Very nice place! Everyone is very caring and nolegable about they work. My son loves everything about it! After only few weeks l notice huge improvement with the way he speaks and focus on all the tasks he has to do. He can spell,write and recognize his name... I highly recommend Stepping Stones.
