A friend recommended The Hair Co for a spray tan...so I called to make an appt with Marissa...When I questioned her about what the product was made of, she could only say it was sugar cane based, but did not know the other products... when I made the appt, I asked her if there was something I was to do before coming, what do I wear...her response was "anything you are comfortable in"...which did not answer my question, I had to push to get my lingerie, bathing suit, nude.whatever I chose. When I went in, I was met by Marissa, a friendly young lady, who promptly took me to the room to disrobe, told me that it would be cold when she sprayed me...it appeared that she sprayed me properly...told me after I asked about what to do next...not to shower for 10 hours and to moisturize. I followed her instructions...the next day, I noticed that I had racing stripes down the inside and outside of my legs. The product stained my bra, something that Marissa told me would not happen, that it would come out in the wash...and it did not. Then I told my friend that I was so dry from this, despite the moisturizing...she asked me if I exfoliated beforehand...I had not, because Marissa did not tell me to do so. I called Marissa this morning to relate to her my concerns...I told her that I was not going to ask for my money back or speak to her superior, but she needs to inform her future customers properly. She did not offer to repair the tan problem, which I would not have done any way...she admitted that I was suppose to exfoliate beforehand...but there was no sense of regret on her part at all. I dont make the habit of complaining to merchants, but with what it cost, her lack of forth coming of information, I decided she needed some input to correct her for future clients. So beware, if you go there for a spray on tan!!! May 19, 2009

Really basic cut requested for bangs, and got a pretty terrible job done. The person who did my hair was very inexperienced, with only a year under her belt, but still... Im surprised by the high reviews here, because my experience was so all-around poor. The starting cut was too short, she didnt seem to understand that curly hair is much shorter once dry, nor offered to do a dry cut on pre-styled hair, which Id always seen as an option if how hair lies once styled is in question. It looked like a 90s bowl cut across my head, and didnt understand the concept of blending or angling the front to prevent the mushroom-cap look. It was higher on the left than the right as well - god, it was pretty bad. It was pretty awful. I "fixed" it at home by creating some blending and trying to even it out, but if Id known Id do a better job myself, with zero training and not a great eye or any talent eith scissors, I wouldnt have paid money. I was hoping to get them done profession ally because its right on my face... at the moment I look like Garth from Waynes World and am trying to have a sense of humour about it, but wanted to warn others. Ask for someone who is tried and true at this place, at the VERY least.

Coming to the Hair Color Company & Spa in Farmington, CT totally changed my view on the salon experience. I was a tried and true Super Cuts customer. I was a fan of paying $15 and going in on Sundays to get my hair done. Then my whole world changed when I met Marta and learned about the Hair Color Company & Spa. When I walked through the door, I was greeted and an associate helped me hang up my coat. Then, Marta came out and asked me if I wanted a glass of wine. Which of course I did. My hair was washed and Marta asked me about my hair, what did I want to do, did I have anything new/different in mind. I didn’t because my first hair cut there was so awesome. My second hair cut was also terrific and I was able to use a 20% off coupon – even better! Plus, they are open on Sundays! The appointment reminder mechanism is nice – you can select to receive reminders via phone call, text, or email. Also, Mary, the manicurist is a real person – I didn’t have to read my magazine and zone out (only if I wanted to). But Mary and I had an incredible conversation and I truly enjoyed my time there.

I have been going to The Hair Color Company for the past nine years- have had styling done, cuts, wedding up-dos and most recently, highlights. I send everyone I know there!! While I know there are several salons near my new home....I will still drive an hour to receive PERFECTION from the most talented professionals in the industry!!! Making appointments could not be easier- done online. Warm inviting atmosphere when you walk in.. hot coffee and pastries waiting and most importantly, AMAZING results when they are done with you. I just cant imagine going anywhere else. Thanks to THCC for always making me feel beautiful :)

I made an appointment based on the great reviews of this salon and had an exceptional experience there. I travel with my job so I brought my color formula but asked if they could help the bit of "brassy" tone that I was noticing. Absolutely spot on results. Then whatever they used on my hair for conditioning was amazing. The softness was so noticeable. My hair is very grey at the top and getting a nice warm brown has not been easy, but they worked magic here. I agree with the comments that this is a very enjoyable and professional salon with service above and beyond. Looking forward to another appointment here.

I went to this Salon yesterday and I have to say for someone thats going to a new place for the first time this Salon was amazing. Chelsea did such an amazing job on my hair and I get great compliments at work. Thank you Chelsea for making me feel beautiful and allowing me to get the type of hair cut and color that I wanted. You took such great time taken care of me and going above and beyond to make me comfortable and at ease at a new place. This is a great salon and I will definitely be making future visits. I had an amazing experience with this salon and, in particular, with the salons owner, Marta. She did an amazing job and cut my hair according to the pictures I brought with me (I had to email it to her so she could see it on her phone during the whole process - real high-tech ;)). The staff are courteous and very polite, and the quality of the service I got is superb (having changed more than 30 stylists and been a hair model before - I know what Im talking about). The cut is clean, funky, has a lot of texture and is still very neat and stylish.

The Hair Color Company is fantastic! Marta has been my hairstylist for many years and she always does exquisite work. Shes amazing! The salon excels at superb customer service and always makes me feel welcome. The new location is great and has a very hip, contemporary feel. They have complimentary beverages including wine and beer that hits the spot! I love the new location because its convenient and I dont have to deal with the hassle of parking in West Hartford Center. The Hair Color Company has my highest recommendation.
