Our son who is almost 6 has been gong to Almost Home since before his second birthday. He was in daycare and pre-school and now goes after-school. Our daughter who just turned two goes full time as well. I cant say enough good things about AH. The programs are outstanding, the staff is nurturing and above all the leadership (Fran and Bunny) treat the kids and parents with the greatest kindness and caring while still running the organization to the highest professional standards. There are a lot of good programs in town for child care and pre-school. Some will dazzle you with their curriculum and programs...Almost Home has all that while still letting the kids engage in the most important learning of all...being kids. On a practical note, AH goes above and beyond to support the real world needs of working parents. They dont close evetytime the wind blows and are open on some holidays. they realize people need to work and they are there for us. Most of all, we have two brilliant, social, fun and caring kids and we owe a lot of gratitude for that to AH.

Almost Home has been fabulously flexible and caring during a tough time for our family- have looked after our daughter for extra hours on short notice with no issue. She seems to have lots of fun and talks about the other kids in her class constantly. Her teachers are very nice and seem to genuinely enjoy the kids. I would prefer better communication about her day though - beyond what she ate and when she had a wet diaper (what her mood was like, what she enjoyed playing with, what songs they sang etc). Would make it easier to ensure some continuity between home and school. Art projects, while very cute on the refrigerator, seem to be heavily guided by the teachers (handprints with faces drawn on by the teachers for example). Id be happy (happier actually!) with her 2-year old scribbles and finger painting smears. Otherwise, prices are reasonable and location is great.

We have six year old twins who have been going to Almost Home since they were three months old. Fran and Bunny, the two managers have shown our girls unconditional love during the entire time. The staff is nurturing, kind, well trained, and highly responsible. Almost Home has been the most dependable facility that we have experienced and does not go by the school schedule, so there have been countless times during inclement weather where my wife and I have both had to go into work and we have been able to drop the kids off for the day. They are also open most holidays, which has also been very convenient. If you are looking for a daycare center which is convenient, dependable, clean, and nurturing I highly recommend Almost Home. It truly lives up to its name!

When we first moved to Ridgefield we put our 3yr old in a daycare that seemed great. After a few days of dropping her off there, we felt uneasy about it. We went with our gut and after two weeks, pulled her out and put her at Almost Home. Its been a fantastic experience ever since. The directors are warm and compassionate. They are always willing to pause and listen to parents share their triumphs as well as concerns regarding their children. I know my kids are safe and well cared for at AH. My daughter is well prepared for kindergarten and will be sad not to be spending her days at AH come fall. I would highly recommend AH to anyone looking for daycare in Ridgefield.

Our daughter has gone to Almost Home for nearly four years. Directors Fran and Bunny are amazingly helpful and beyond caring. Teachers are great. I cannot recommend this daycare enough to parents who are looking for a place for their children to grow and learn while they have to be away from them while at work. We will soon be moving out of state and we will truly miss everyone here at Almost Home. If youre considering a daycare in Ridgefield you must put this one at the top of your list.

Almost Home has been a great experience for us and for our daughter. She is safe, engaged and happy at the end of each day. She has access to age appropriate learning materials and as she prepares to transition into Kindergarten this year Im confident that she is prepared. Our son also gets transported to elementary school each day by Almost Home transportation. It is safe, reliable and fun transport for him and it is a relief to know he is good hands each morning on the commute.

My son is now three and has been at Almost Home since he was 6 months old. The staff and teachers are so attentive and make sure he has a great day every day. I am always impressed by the activities planned for the toddlers such as circle time, arts and crafts and outdoor play. Im so thankful for his teachers that support his learning and development.

Location was key. Located just off route 35 (Danbury Rd) they are easy to get to. The staff is very friendly and willing to work with our schedule and dietary needs. They do not have TVs or electronics in the classes unlike some other daycares we visited.
