Shippan Auto Body, after dealing with them, falls into the category of service providers that want to do something to get paid without fully fixing the problem. My Mercedes needed to be fixed. Fender had a dent and scratches, scratches on the bumper and parking light on the side had to be replaced. An estimate has been given and I was told that everything will be fixed in a couple of days. After waiting for 4 days I decided to give them a call since I did not hear anything regarding the repairs. A person answered saying that the car was done and I could pick it up. (How hard is it to call a client and say that the job is done). After inspecting the car I realized that there was paint coming off on the fender. After bringing the car back to the shop I was told that they must have missed a spot and that if I leave the car it would be done by 6pm. I agreed but picked it up and paid for the job the day after. Later I found another problem with the job. There was a crack in the bumper that the person doing the estimate missed. The crack is to the side of the headlight, in the niche, so it was hard to spot. I went back to the shop again. The owner spared 10 seconds to tell me that its a split in the bumper that I was told about when I brought the car and no work was done about it, turned around and walked away. A few days after I decided to go back to get some clear answers. Firstly, I wanted to know why nobody told me about the "split". It made no sense for me to spend $1000 to repaint something that has a crack in it. I wanted to find out why replacing the bumper never came up in any conversations. After approaching the owner who said that I questioned the estimate too much, and that I did not want to pay "too much" to fix the bumper I realized that the owner of the shop decided for me what the best course of action is. It was to repaint the fender and bumper, and leave the crack alone. So, after he stormed out yelling "Goodbye" multiple times, I am stuck with a cracked bumper which I might need to replace (I am not happy that I paid to get a bad bumper repainted). As far as I can tell, the fender looks good, and they might be okay at what they do, but just like others will do a half assed job to get paid. "Its just business".

I had a really horrible sound coming from under the car, and I though my wheel had been damaged or something. I called up Mike and he said to come right in. Mike then got under the car laying on the wet ground and pulled out a tree branch that had been lodged in my wheel and responsible for the sound. I wanted to pay him, but he would take no money. There is no question in my mind that for any car troubles I will go straight to this man, and purely based on this experience would highly recommend him to anyone. A+ service, and an attitude you just dont see anymore these days. Thanks Mike!

Tremendous service. Got car scratches repaired twice already this year. They were very candid with me on the phone as well as in person. They offered a deal that beat other local prices. They also gave me a coupon for a free car cleaning (exterior and interior) after the work was done. Top-notch customer service too - they gave me a ride to the train station after I dropped off my car. As you can see, Shippan Auto Body really strives to ease the frustration incurred by damaging your car. No need to hesitate; this is the place you want to take your car for auto body work.

I had heard from several friends that Shippan Auto Body is really good and honest. I was not disappointed. When my car was hit by a truck, I called them. The first thing they told me was that there is a rental car place right down the road from them. The price Shippan Auto body quoted me was really fair, and they were friendly and helpful. They fixed my car so quickly! It looks like new! I cannot tell where they painted it. It blends so perfectly with the original paint. I recommend Shippan Auto Body highly!

Amazing service....I will always use Shippan Auto Body for any of my car repairs and refer my friends and family to them. I just moved to the area, and I stopped by Shippan Auto Body to have my driver side mirror looked at and they were so friendly and were able to fix it on the spot for me....The best part is they are honest and really fair in price....Thank you... This place is extremely unprofessional. The owner was very rude to me and had a terrible attitude when I was asking about my vehicle. I was told my vehicle would be ready today, yet it is not. This business is very disorganized and the owner was not understanding or willing to compromise. Avoid this place like the plague!
