A few weeks back, I found myself in an unfortunate situation. Due to some black ice, I rear-ended a brand new 2015 Hyundai Elantra while driving my 2012 Chevy Malibu LTZ. Although the damage appeared to be mostly cosmetic, I eventually learned this was not the case. Well get to that shortly. Both the other motorist and I drove to Depalo as per a recommendation and as we preferred to handle this sans insurance, I opted to pay for the damages to both vehicles. We worked directly with Edward Depalo whom was passionate about his endeavors and extremely knowledgeable with respect to his craft. He explained in great detail to us the procedures, timetables, costs, options, etc. of the damages to the Elantra and within the week, it was repaired at a VERY reasonable price. Courtesy and professionalism were outstanding throughout the entire process. As for the Malibu, it was a bit trickier. The entire front bumper assembly was cracked and needed to be replaced. Edward explained that he would call some vendors and look around for a suitable used bumper due to cost constraints. Over the course of the next 2-3 weeks, Edward had several units shipped to the shop and deemed them unworthy, with respect to price vs quality. And with each attempt, I was kept in the loop. Eventually, he came across not only the best priced replacement, but also a unit of near perfect condition. Edward explained that they would have the piece prepped and painted and that I could drop the Malibu off at my leisure. It was around this time I noticed the engine began to sporadically overheat. I called Edward, we scheduled a drop off, and he made sure I was supplied with a very reasonably priced rental vehicle. Upon further examination, it appeared the accident had damaged the radiator, cracked the headlights, and put a hole in the condenser. Edward immediately went to work and found not only the most practically priced parts, but was able to have the vehicle back to me within 3 business days. And it looks brand new and functions just as well. And the cost? Well, it was far less than I would have expected for the services rendered, especially considering market cost and labor. I could not have been more pleased with the entire situation and the overall professionalism of Depalo and Sons Auto Body. They are by far the most exceptional auto body shop I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. In fact, I have several very good friends in the industry whom were equally impressed with the effort, pricing, and turn-around times. All in all, Depalo and Sons is a highly recommended business, I would absolutely refer friends and family, and I will see to it that future business is conducted through them.

Worst shop and or company Ive had to fight with. My 08 impala got rear ended. My exhaust, rear bumper, part of the passenger side quarter panel were damaged in a local accident. State farm had the car towed there. After two weeks I started calling the shop. I got nothing but excuses from veto every other day. I finally go to the shop Monday morning to find my car sitting out back with my left and right tail light lens assembly missing the rear half of the exhaust missing and my front passenger ring gouged by something rolling and a huge 6 inch chunk of the edge of the rim missing on the rear passenger rim. I get told in person along with the 20 some thing other excuses that it will be done tomorrow. I go to my state farm agents office only to find out he only filed the estimate after I left his shop. If I go to the shop again I will have the police there and make state farm tow it to another shop as it seems hes not interested in doing the job and is a total liar. Nothing but bs and a giant run around. Worst part of all this is that hes supposed to be a recommended shop from state farm. I dont think so.

When my daughter got into an accident, we got three estimates. DePalo was the least expensive (by 15 - 20%) but that wasnt the only reason we chose them. They were rated highly on Angies list and their rep. was very professional and accommodating when we first met. Another autobody shop we went to for an estimate called us "dolls" and was otherwise condescending (I assume) because we were women. The third had an office rep. who was abrasive and rude and seemed annoyed by our request for an estimate. Happily, DePalos lived up to its Angies List reputation. The rep. answered all of our questions (and there were many), he returned our car when promised and, most importantly, did an amazing job. Admittedly, we didnt need a huge amount of work done but DePalos work was of excellent quality. There was no sign that our car was ever in an accident, and they even went the extra mile by vacuuming out the interior (even though the interior had no work done on it). I hope never to need another autobody shop, but Ill return to DePalo & Sons if I do.

Less than two weeks ago, my Subaru Impreza was struck by a deer. While my car did a fantastic job protecting me and my passengers, it took a lot of damage to the front end. The headlights, bumper, grill, fog lights, fender and hood were in a horrible state. Miraculously, however, the car was still drivable. Depalo & Sons has a partnership with my insurance provider (Geico) which helped expedite the assessment of the damage by the insurance adjuster and begin repairs. From start to finish, this business did a fantastic job. They were prompt, concise, and courteous. The repairs to my vehicle are top-notch. They maintained communication with me via phone approximately every two days to provide me with updates to my claim, estimate, repairs, and completion date. Even with all of that damage, they managed to repair my car in only 10 days and return it in super-clean condition. This place had A+ service, they were easy to deal with, and provided great communication! Highly recommended!

After having my 08 Camry rear ended and finding out the other persons insurance accepted full liability, the other persons insurance company had me come here to get my car fixed. Scheduled an appt to drop my car off and get a rental. They were able to take me the same day! There is an Enterprise attached to the shop and they hooked me up with a rental that the other insurance company paid for as well! After inspecting the car for an estimate, they told me there was more extensive damage and had to see if the other insurance company would cover it. They would! It was a two week repair and they updated me almost every day with the status of the repair. Eventually, my car was all set and they did a fantastic job. You couldnt even tell it had been rear ended! Plus they even took out the dings for me that were already there when I bought the car! My car never looked better! I would recommend them in a heartbeat! Thanks Depalo & Sons for everything!!!

I work for an insurance company, & so I know this is one of the most highly respected body shops on Long Island. Its one of the few shops I know that has multiple insurance companies recommending it--and we really dont want people to go to bad shops! Outside of my job, its the place I send my family & friends when they need work, because I know the job will be done, & done right. Ive heard many complaints about a lot of other shops, but not this one. Again, I know from experience--all the damage on a car is not always visible from the outside--often, you cant find things until you take the car apart, & theres often additional damage. So if someone had an estimate "change," its probably because they found more damage & didnt want to return the car until it was fixed properly. You can trust the DePalos to take care of you when you need your car fixed.
