Recently we encountered some drainage issues at our home and after I made failed attempts at fixing the problem I contacted RotoRooter. On Wednesday Sept. 12, the Roto Rooter truck pulled into my driveway and I met a technician named Darley (#90). After some brief conversation he set out to correct our drainage problem. Not too soon thereafter he had the problem under control and had cleaned up to go on to his next appointment. That evening my wife drew a bath. While I was working downstairs at my computer I heard my wife release the drain in the upstairs bath. Suddenly the toilet in our downstairs bathroom began to over flow. Convinced there was more to our problem I again set out to see if I could correct it. After more of my futile efforts I called Roto Rooter on Saturday Sept. 15 and explained that we were still experiencing drainage problems. Another appointment was set up for Sunday the 16th in the morning between 9am and 11am. At 10am, the truck arrived and a different technician introduced himself as Matt (#640). By this time both my wife and I were beside ourselves with what could be the problem. Add to that the thought of bringing in a plumber ran through our minds along with the added cost. Matt got his equipment out and began to snake the drainage line with his camera. Fascinated with his monitor both my wife and I learned that although Darley had somewhat corrected the problem, there was residue left in the line causing the downstairs toilet to again over flow. We learned later that Darley was a new technician and that he didnt have a camera snake as of yet. Within minutes of Matt showing us the problem, he was successful at correcting the problem and made my wife and I very happy that we could use our toilets, shower and washing machine again! I apologize for being so long winded but I wanted you to fully understand what those four days of hell were like for us and to know just how much we truly appreciate the quality work that both those technicians provided. Darley and Matt need to be recognized not only for their excellent work but I want to point out the professionalism they exhibited. Both of these gentlemen exemplify what excellent service should be all about. We are very grateful for the work Roto Rooter provided and extremely happy that we had the opportunity to have met both of these gentleman.

The sewage pump basin overflowed in our basement. Fortunately, a water monitoring alarm alerted us in time so that the overflow was confined to the cover of the sewage basin. Unfortunately, we discovered this at 8:15 pm on a Tuesday night. I know what a dirty, smelly, messy job this can be, as I had done it before, but I was in no mood to start this kind of job this late at night. Furthermore, the timing was bad as my wife & I had to leave home and go in different directions & each pick up a kid from sports practice & feed the kid. By the time we got home around 10 pm, my wife starting calling 24/7 plumbing services. Although several promised to call back (including RR), we were not given a time when they would call back. I stayed up until midnight waiting for a call back, but nobody called. My wife called RR Wednesday morning around 6:45 and was told somebody would be at the house between 8 am - Noon. Thomas from RR in Stratford arrived around 10 am (?). Thomas was the most friendly & courteous service man I have ever had at my house. He proficiently tested the system & diagnosed the problem. He was extremely careful not to splash sewage waste around the work area. He remedied the problem & tested the system several times to make sure it was operating properly, and then he cleaned up very well. He did all this while we had almost non-stop conversation about many topics with many laughs. I give Thomas 6 stars, & the call center/dispatcher 4 stars (only because I really expected a 24/7 service would actually come out the night I called, not the next day).

I am so pleased with the service provided by Roto-Rooter Tech Penny Goins (Tech 8765). She was very thorough in assessing a recurring problem I had been having that was causing flooding in my basement. She pointed out that the AC Condensation hose routed down and under my basement floor and was then routed up and out the drainage pipe rather than just out through the pipe at floor level. This made it harder for the condensation water to be pushed because it had to go back up 2 feet, before going out through the drainage pipe. This poor building construction in combination with a clogged condensation hose caused 2 basement floods. After making the assessment, Penny then used the snake and made sure she used one long enough to run the entire length of the condensation hose. In this way ensuring she removed the clog rather than just pushing it to a different location in the hose. She was only satisfied when she heard the clog release and the water flowing freely. Then she recommended I apply Roto-Rooter Piipe Shield monthly to the AC Condensation hose to prevent future residue buildups. Penny was so knowledgable and professional, I was very impressed. If I have need for a Plumbing Professional in the future, You can be sure I am going to call and specifically request Penny Goins. Definitely professional service.

I had an obvious clog in my septic system, with water was pouring out of my overflow pipe and flooding my basement. As it was a Saturday, I panicked, thinking that it would be hours before someone could come and at the cost of a hefty "emergency" or weekend service fee. I called Roto-Rooter at 11:45 and they told me someone would be able to come between 12 and 2, and that there was no additional charge for the day or timing of the call. What a relief! They then called back 20 minutes later to say the service men would arrive in 30 minutes, and, to my surprise, the gentlemen arrived promptly after and got straight to work clearing the line. They were polite, happy and encouraging, ensuring me they would take care of everything no problem. They cleared the whole line, removed the troublesome roots, dug up the septic tank to make sure all was flowing properly and then even showed me the clear line via their camera feed. What professionals! I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone who needs a trusty, courteous and price-conscious plumber, especially in a pinch!

Called Roto-Rooter and received A+ treatment from the call center and the plumber arrived within the 2 hour period as they said. He showed up and diagnosed the problem with the water backing up into my basement within minutes. Michael gave me the cost of the job which was reasonable for the work necessary. He snaked the drain through the trap and then he ran a camera into the pipe and gave me choices of how to handle the problem for the future. Roots in my clay pipes undoubably will cause this to happen again, however within 6 months, its covered by Roto-Rooter. After that my options are to have another procedure done to cut the roots out which lasts anywhere from 5-10 years. The next job would be to dig up the pipe and have they replace it with PVC. Michael was courteous, honest, and very knowledgable. He worked quickly and swiftly and checked to be sure that everything was working again properly before writing up the bill. I recommend Michael as well as the Roto Rooter service. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE - A+
