South Florida Gymnastics has charged me for serviced that were never rendered for my children. South Florida Gymnastics requires that all families pay a deposit on the account which is equal to one month tuition. My children participated in the program for more than four years, we paid a total deposit of 445.00. We were charged 522.00 on May 1st for gymnastics services for my son and my daughter. My daughter’s last day of gymnastics was on May 15th, 2015. At this time, South Florida Gymnastics stated they would credit my account for 245.00 for my daughters account. On June 1st we were notified that my son’s gymnastics coach would be leaving which would leave him with no coach available to train him at his level. South Florida Gymnastics did not replace the coach and we were forced to make alternative arrangements and enroll him in another training facility. My son’s last day of gymnastics was on June 12th. He started a new training facility on June 15th which required us to pay tuition where he would actually be training. South Florida Gymnastics charged me for services that were never provided. The transaction on May 1st included tuition for May for both my son and my daughter, where my daughter only attended half the month and held a 245.00 deposit on her account. My son had a 240.00 deposit on his account. It is not written anywhere that the gymnast must give a 30 day notice and certainly not written that you must continue to pay for services that are not provided due to a lack of functionality and safety in the facility. I recently found out that Kim Friday, South Florida Gymnastics Director, charged a different tuition amount for the boys team gymnasts for the month of June. We were charged more money for the same amount of hours than the other teammates. Also, it has come to my attention that Kim Friday has refunded tuition and deposits for certain gymnasts while refusing to address our situation that my son was left without a coach to train him. South Florida Gymnastics failed to follow through on their contractual agreement with this family and provide an adequate replacement for my son when his coach left. We were forced to leave due to the inaction of the director to replace our coach. Kim Friday has made “exceptions” to her quoted policies, she has refunded tuitions and she charged different tuition rates for every gymnast for the month of June. This is unfair practices and has directly impacted my family. I want to state that I have given this organization over 25,000 dollars over the past few years. We only left because they did not hire a coach to coach my son. The lack of professionalism and accountability on behalf of this organization is appalling. This organization does not care about the gymnasts, what is in their best interest or their safety. He withdrew from the program, in 2012 for the same reasons, a lack of adequate coaching. Take your kids to the many other gymnastics offerings in the community. It is sad to feel so incredibly undervalued as a customer and as a family after the many years invested, physically, emotionally and financially.

Upon receiving this complaint we would like to address a couple things. On June 1st we received a 2 week notice from our boys head coach and immediately took action to find a replacement. We temporarily gave the position to our assistant boys coach who is USAG professionally certified and had been working with the boys through their entire season, and several years prior to. Through our search we found several candidates but it did take us more than 2 weeks to find the perfect coach for our program, just as it would in various other work places involving children. In reference to the financial accusations: We have the appropriate documentation stating that necessary notices would be given in order to leave our program , just as all other members of our facility are required to give. Because this situation was so unusual we held all June charges for participants in our competitive boys program and allowed them the choice to stay with us until we could find a replacement or to go elsewhere and return once we found a replacement. This particular family gave their notice for their daughter in May and as a curtesy we applied her deposit of $240 toward her sons account. On the first of June, when we found out our boys head coach would be pursuing other opportunities we gave them the option to stay or to go. They decided one week later that they needed to leave and go to another gym as they were not satisfied with our replacement coach. After receiving his withdraw notice we allowed him to quit immediately and refunded the $145 difference from his deposit, however we did not refund the additional May tuition as they did not give proper notice to withdraw from our program. We understand that this was not an ideal situation; however our interest has always been what’s best for our students and will continue to be. It is clear through the documentation given that we have gone above and beyond to help this family with their situation and we apologize for the heartache and wish you and your athlete the most success in the future. South Florida Gymnastics is the most awesome gym for my kids. My experiences with their staff are nothing short of exceptional. Kim Friday, the director, has dedicated her entire life to gymnastics and is also a highly respected judge in the gymnastics community. She is very considerate of all the childrens needs and their policies are as fair as any in the business. My kids have been in gymnastics for many years and SFGC has an outstanding record. The parents at SFGC are all glad one wacko disgruntled parent is gone. My kids love SFGC and all their staff. They are by far the best in the business.

Absolute best gym in Bradenton/Sarasota area. They have been in business for 40 years. Most professional, passionate and caring coaches who really do this for the right reasons. Just look at their website and Facebook and youll see. Take a free trial class and your child will be begging to come back.

The staff is awesome. Particularly coach Jeremy which typically works with the boys is excellent at explaining things to my son. He is fair, firm and patient which son loves. The facility is large and in good shape. Overall a great place for us.
