Absolutely terrible experience. I had originally scheduled for them to come look at my breaker box on 8-2-17. Thy said they would be there between 4-8pm. I waited, no one showed, never received a call as to why they didnt show up. When I originally called best home services they said because I was a new customer I qualified for a free plumbing maintenance check up. I thought great, thats awesome Id like to schedule them to come to she said theyd be there the following day Between 8 and 10 oclock. They showed up on time the next day everything was good. He comes back saying the whole water system is trashed, which I knew it was. He says he will be right back with solutions and options and pricing. He comes back with a 10k option, including to replace the water tank, blades, salt system with their ozonator. Option did not even include hot water tank, but it included ALL NEW SINKS, TOILETS AND WASHER HOSES. I DONT need or didnt need new toilets, sinks or washer hoses. I simply wanted what I need to have clean water through the house. Absolute joke, why are you trying to upsale me sinks and toilets? For 10k, get out of here. Finally the eltrician shows up, checks fuse box and says its not the breaker, and its grounding out somewhere. He then says I can start looking at where the short is for $89. He says but if something Im going to be up in attic all day doing thats going to run around 5-600. I told him well I cant afford that right now, so I guess Ill need to reschedule so I have the money I can get you in case it end up taking that long. Then he says well you never know, this could be a 20 min fix. Im assuming the $89 he was talking about originally. i figured this would be an easy fix since everything worked 2 weeks ago, but after the storm these couple lights wont come back on. i said okay but I cant afford anything clover the $89 really. He comes back in the house takes out outlet does a couple things, takes him 10 minutes and he has the lights back on. I said sweet what do I owe you, he said "well I cant fix what wasnt broken, how you you sign up for 2 year service plan for $199 includes plumbing, electrical and ac maintenance. I said no I already have an AC guy. He says well tell him to hold off for 2 years and he can come back. I said what do I owe for the "repair". He says $150. I didnt argue it I just wanted them out of the damn house. Sick of BS numbers that keep being thrown around. Trying upscale me and BS. Ill never call this company out to do anything again. Oh yeah they took there floor mat back he put in my garage because I didnt buy the maintenance plan. $150 for 10 minutes of time, when he originally said $89 and I told him I couldnt afford more then $89 at that time. Kept trying to tell me he might have to run a new home run, all this stuff. He simply couldnt check out what was wrong "diagnostic fee" of $19 and let me know what was wrong like the advertise, he checked out what was wrong and did a couple things for $150. He refused to tell me what was wrong unless he fixed it. Comepletely terrible services from both departments.

I called these guys because we had another company doing our AC maintenance and we just lost enthusiasm for doing business with them for a variety of reasons. The AC was working pretty good, but the former company we dealt with told us we needed to replace the entire system after 7 years. We wanted another opinion of our system and its performance. So a tech from BEST came out, for a 49.95$ maintenance check. So far, so good. He spent a good deal of time going over things, and then reappeared with an estimate for work to do on the system. $1200.00 !!! YIKES! Thats 20% cost of a new system! He explained it could use some new parts, some cleaning etc. including a maintenance package for a couple years. Anyway, we werent prepared for this, but then we spent some time talking to the tech, who in my opinion was VERY KNOWLEGABLE and HONEST and began to give us some options and also some consequences (of course) of not doing some of the work, so we decided to do some things for the system, but not others. He had the system pretty much totally apart a the time anyway. The estimate was reduced to just over $700. In the end, I got some new parts, (which I did inspect to determine that the old ones were somewhat faulty -relay etc.), We received a lot of time from the technician, reassurances that the system would give us a few more years service, and we did buy the maintenance package. We have come to expect however, now that seasonal residents get the shaft everywhere from a lot of companies during the winter, whether its AC companies, roof cleaners, or plumbers. So in this case, we felt that that this "shaft" was just a bit shorter. However, the parts were totally overpriced, but thats what you get. They have to make money too in the end and no one works for nothing. I get that. Electrical relays usually dont cost close to $300 (I went online and began to do the research after the work was done). Id rather not do the work myself, because if something goes wrong we can at least call them, or I would have replaced the electrical parts BEST replaced, myself as I have some idea of what to do. I dont even know where to go buy a relay. So we decided to go with maintenance with them and see how it goes, now that theyve told me the AC will last for some time now. It better. Would I recommend them? Based on the technician that came, YES. Based on eventual price? Maybe not. Well see how the maintenance contract goes.

My first experience with Doctor Fix-It was when we started up our Air Conditioner this summer. We moved into a new house and I wanted to get it serviced since we didnt know the condition. Shane came out and checked things out and found our wiring was melted and the filters on the outside unit were packed. He cleaned out everything both inside and outside our air conditioner and furnace, got it patch up, and got it working like new. Due to Shanes awesome service, I called them back when my secondary drain clogged a second time in six months. They gave me a window of 8-10am, and Detlef was at my door at 8am sharp. He cleaned out the line and I asked him to find out if there was a bigger issue because I didnt think the line should clog 6 months after being cleaned. He found out there was standing water which implied that the line was back flowing instead of feeding to the sewer as is normally expected. He referred me to his boss, Jon. Jon was able to show up the same day and quote me the service to break up the concrete and replace the pipes. He was able to schedule the job for 2 days later, but we scheduled for 3 days later due to my availability. They replaced 20 feet of pipe and the concrete in a single day. They changed out one of the pipes that was connecting to the line with a toilet flange. They also got the concrete nice and smooth so that water will flow freely to the normal drain in the floor. They even added the crease back where the rest of the floor was previously creased to make it all look like it used to. All in all, spectacular service. For my air conditioner, they gave me a 5 year warranty. For the new drain line, a 10 year warranty. Furthermore, Jon also signed me up for their Apple a Day program for one year for free which is normally like a $16/month cost. It comes with a Furnace service, AC service, Plumbing service(Which includes the Water Heater), and Electrical service, all in all 4 visits and they call me to set them up. I am happy that I decided to go with Doctor Fix-It a second time and I will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.
