I recently had the opportunity to work with Fred Hunters in preparation for the services for my mother. It is very hard for my family to accept that she is gone and we continue to struggle with that realization. However, in the midst of it all, the staff (Brian, Sonia, Lisa, etc.) at Fred Hunters was more than wonderful. As you know, planning and preparing for a funeral is a lot, both emotionally and financially. Ms. Sonia knew her stuff and provided me with information that I needed to make it happen. As for Brian, ï¾“he is the man. From day one until now, he has provided me with information and materials I needed. He always presents himself humble and eager to grant my many requests. I continue to meet with him to close out final details for my mother. He has also assisted me with preparation for my fathers arrangements, which I pray is no time soon. Your staff worked well with the church staff during the viewing service on Friday Night and during the Funeral Service on Saturday. Everyone worked together to make sure that our family received the best services and exactly how we wanted it. Especially when dealing with the huge amount of flowers arrangements delivered to the Church. Your staff at Fred Hunters should be commended for their professionalism and services to the community at large. Fred Hunters gave my mommy a five star going away/home coming and I know she is pleased with us. Nothing can be done to bring mommy back but again. I thank you for the team of individuals that you assigned to make the process less painful. I am sure you will be receiving more business from Haitian families as I continue to receive compliments. Thanks again and continue to do what you do to service people during sad times.

My cousin passed away in May. I live in CT and was unaware of funeral homes in Fort Lauderdale; and so I prayed. Not by coincidence, my prayers led me to the Fred Hunter Funeral Home, and to Doreena Medina. From the first moment we spoke, I could hear the compassion in her voice, listening patiently, to my never-ending questions and concerns. Each time we spoke thereafter, (too many to count), I felt a sense of calmness knowing that I was led to the most wonderful funeral home and funeral director. Doreena has all the qualities that families should look for when burying a loved one. She was first and foremost compassionate, as I stated above, professional, knowledgeable about every topic I inquired about (again, too many to mention), and I deeply appreciated the reassurance I received from her each time we spoke. When we finally met face to face, Doreena was exactly the way I had pictured her. Her spirit filled the room and a sense of calmness came over my husband and I at once. I am most grateful to this outstanding funeral home and to Doreena.

Hi again, Im rewriting my review because my family members ask me to take it down when they got a call form the funeral and demanded that we take it down. They mentioned they still have our family member, David Nigros cremation ashes which I still dont understand why they brought that up. Let me explain why Im very upset with how they handled my cousin David Nigro and what they did at the viewing. We did spend close to $3,000.00 to pick his body up and store him for a few days plus a 15 minute viewing. My disgust was when we went in and saw him, he was literally in a cardboard box with zip ties holding it together. We understood that we didnt pay the extra 2-3 k to have an hour viewing but they could of at least dress up the cardboard box instead it looking so disrespectful. It was sickening, and it was all about the money. They could of had more respect to a military veteran. We would have of at least put a flag over the box if we would have known. Tim Nigro

Fred-Hunters Funeral Home made the whole process as painless as possible when planning a funeral. We NEVER felt pressured to add any items to our service that we did not want. They make is as easy as possible from the planning, to choices of flowers, to evening providing catering services in their community center. Doreena M. was amazing. She has been there for me and my family from the moment that I contacted them, evening calling me to obtain information so paperwork was completed prior to our meeting. It also gave me comfort to know that my loved one was not being sent to another facility for cremation and he was in their loving hands the entire time. In South Florida, there is an abundance of choices when it comes to funeral homes and services, but I will definitely be utilizing their services again when the need arises.

Fred Hunter handled my sisters funeral and they were exceptional with every aspect of the planning and the actual service. Andrea Buzzo assisted my family with all the preparations. She went above and beyond our expectations when it came to making this difficult time easier on my family, especially my elderly Father. Her kind nature and her sensitivity was greatly appreciated during the planning stage. She was extremely helpful in guiding my family to make the best plans for my sister and our family. My family and I cannot thank Zach and Paige for all their help, time, support and understanding during our very difficult time of the loss of 2 family members in 6 months. They were extremely patient with us and guided us in making all the decisions and plans that needed to be taken care of. The death of a loved one is always difficult and can be a very confusing time. When my husband was enrolled in hospice, I met with one of the funeral directors to prearrange the services we would need. The funeral director was very professional and empathetic. He was respectful of our wishes and did not try to oversell any product or service. Having the arrangements made ahead of time brought great peace of mind.
