One year ago I chose to use All Star Services yearly service agreement after they first came out and looked at my air conditioner. It was expensive, but I assumed that my prices would be lower during the year because of getting the contract. Five months ago, more or less, the AC started leaking everywhere. I had them come back out because it was due for service anyways, and fix the problem. They checked out everything, rerouted some PVC by the pump, and said I should not have any more problems with it. The next day I called them back out because it was still leaking behind the filter. The technician said he could not find anything wrong with the unit, and that the water droplets were what was left of the leak from the day before. So I put a bucket behind the filter because I was not getting any help. It would not keep the house cooled to the temperature it was set at. I called them out again, and they said the coil needed to be cleaned, so I paid over $700 for something that should have been about $400, and got it cleaned. A month after the coil cleaning, it was not cooling the house below 80 degrees during the day, which was unacceptable. The unit was not even 10 years old yet. Frustrated with their lack of knowledge to fix my AC, I called out another company, and they came out and showed me that the system was frozen up, and that there was oil in the water that was being pumped out, so we had an oil leak somewhere. Since I have a heart condition, and could not afford to continue to pay a $400 electric bill because it was running continuously and not cooling enough, I went ahead and paid for the new company I called, a great company by the way, to install a new AC the very same day, a larger one to handle the load the house required. I wasted so much time and money on All Star Home Services, and I want to warn everyone to never use them, no matter what. They take your money, and dont fix what needs to be fixed. They do not guarantee any labor; they made it clear that the cleaning was not guaranteed. They also promised us $150 back on the cleaning since we complained about the high cost, and now they will not give us that, either. Buyer Beware

Never have I ever dealt with a company with such LOW ethics. FAIR WARNING to the potential customers that are thinking about going with "All star" services. Two weeks ago my AC failed me so I went ahead and called All star to come out and service my unit. I placed a call at 6:15 am to have an emergency service request placed. 10 hours later a gentleman shows up to my door. Upon arrival not even 20 mins into his what I thought "inspection" and comes to me letting me know the jobs done. No, I did not get an estimate for me to approve just a invoice for $371. But hey thats ok, with a newborn in my house I needed it fixed at any cost. Talking with the rep to find out what was wrong he told me a capacitor needed to be replaced that I could have bought myself for $20. His explanation of the other $351 was for his knowledge and expertise and I quote " you would have never known what was wrong if I wouldnt have checked" Outraged I emailed a gentleman named Rocco about the situation. After two emailed he completely ignored me. Now two weeks later my ac completely broke on me forcing me to buy a new one, mind you after already spending $371! I have all star come back out to assess and confirm a new unit is needed. Youd think theyd be somewhat sympathetic or generous in regards to replacing and possibly comping the previous charge. WRONG! They tried to charge me $125 for a gentleman to tell me what I already knew. Regardless, we decided to go ahead and use another company (who did the job, thank god! And $1200 cheaper than the one quoted by all star). My wife wrote reviews on all stars google account and Yelp and finally I received an email back from Rocco. After some back and forth, Rocco verbatim emails me, "How about I give you $100 back and you remove your negative comments about my business? Thank you, Rocco DiBenedetto Operations Manager" Um what?! After I email back telling him Id rather the apology vs the bribe and ask him to refund me for the work and customer service all star did NOT provide, I receive an email basically saying to fly a kite. Rocco, I hope youre smarter and treat your next customers better than you treated us.

I would never recommend anyone do business with this company and operations manager Rocco DiBenedetto. Its about the lack thereof ethics and integrity in the manner in which he is doing business by trapping people into a dispatch fee on the basis their company is competitive and then raping them on the price of work. I received several estimates in the $300-$400 range to clean AC coils in our 2 br/ac is easily accessible. These estimates were in-line with what the internet reflected for the job as well as what the inspector estimated. Their estimate came in at $791. I contacted them expressing my disbelief, he said hed do the work at 75%. I said even if they matched the estimate, I wouldnt want to do business with them. I sent a lengthy email. He called me twice back to back. He began arguing with me about how these other estimates could not be from legitimate companies. He agreed to happily refund the $79.50 if I provided an estimate from a licensed contractor. When I did, his response, they werent, "legitimate." He did not refund the $79.50 fee and engaged in an email rant all of Monday afternoon and all of Tuesday. I didnt even read his last email I was sick of hearing from him, and like the best whoever did it would say, "dont argue with fools because from a distance you cant tell who is who." Apparently its ethical in his book to conduct business in this manner. What kind of a business owner engages in this type of interaction with a client then bad mouths the competition in an attempt to deflect? I asked if hed seen his reviews? His reponse I quote, "Read the hidden reviews while looking at the published I think youll find there are as many satisfied clients as there are dissatisfied but I refuse to pay yelp therefore we are relegated to only negative feedback showing up. Have a look at ... the #1 rated AC provider in our market and note that he doesnt have a license." To say this guy is a bona fide narcissistic unethical douche bag would be an understatement.

BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT BELIEVE THESE BOGUS REVIEWS!!! My elderly Mother paid $5000 for a new a/c unit to be installed in her small apartment. Not only did they install it improperly (they set the unit and thermostat for a gas/heat unit when hers is all gas like most Florida condos) they came out for the 1 year service and affirmed that everything was in "perfect, working order). When fixed income and on a budget Mother tried to use it, nothing but hot air blew out. After a debate over who would pay for the service call, they agreed to come out and not charge us if it was their fault. They admitted it was their fault and even offered to extend the warranty a year with 2 goodwill service calls. When the a/c unit was attempted for usage (attempt #3) there were warning signals, low battery, etc. Insisting that it was "just a battery" they agreed to come out. In the interim I opened the thermostat up and the batteries fell out. They were not secure and the thermostat was 3 years old!!! Therefore it was 2 years old when installed and misrepresented as "new" and a call to the manufacturer determined that this thermostat was installed elsewhere - it was refurbished, defective and/or used, and they sold it and installed it as new. The serviceman was honest (plus we have it on tape) and he said he would return to install a new thermostat. Management said they would do whatever their technician recommended. Crooks and liars, they are now refusing to replace it. Small claims court here we come. Save yourself the headache. Use another company.
