We dropped off curtains to this dry cleaner and they promptly shrunk them over 4". After over 4 weeks of trying to contact the owner for resolution (and writing a letter demanding action even legally) my wife was told that she was a money grubber who is trying to make money off the curtains... On top of this we were not issued a refund nor did we receive reimbursement for the damaged the damaged product. In questioning both the customer service and the level or capabilities we were told that Pottery Barn makes inferior products and that the owner/manager were very busy and were not able to get back to us. This was then all repeated by the owner himself. Judging from the rest of the posts on here our experience looks to be par for the course. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLEANER TO ANYONE IN THE SURROUNDING AREA.

First time using this dry cleaning service and they nearly lost one of my shirts. Had it not been that I counted my items and walked back in there only to hassle them for 20 minutes to look for it, it would be missing still. They also ripped one of the buttons off one of my expensive jackets that has buttons that are so unique to the material of the jacket, its almost impossible to replace them. Loved the explanation that it must have "fallen off" in the machine. Brand new Gianni Bini jacket, and the button just magically fell off. Do not take your clothes here if you value them at all. They will turn up lost or damaged.

Just some comments about 5th Ave Cleaners. Been here for over 12 years. My daughters prom and formal dresses have been cleaned here. Suits, slacks, shirts and dresses have been cleaned usually same day and without incident. Laundry was done when the washing machine broke. And buttons and zippers repaired or replaced, slacks taken in or let out or cuffed have all been done well. They are convenient to and from work. If you are looking for good service, fair price, consistent quality service give them a try.

I brought three shirts in to be cleaned--two of which needed some stains pre-soaked. Had to make a return trip to ask for the shirts to be re-cleaned since the stains were not marked for pre-soak. The manager, Penny Dottin, marked the stains the second time (yellow tape affixed over top of each of the two stains). So if youre needing stains pre-soaked, ask for Penny. :-)

Ive been going to 5th Avenue Cleaners since 2005. They seem to have new owners/managers. BE CAREFUL. Not as good as before. I just took a very large (2 bags) order to them and the clerk just threw them in the bin WITHOUT COUNTING! I made her count each piece and told which pieces had stains to be addressed. I will pick them up tomorrow. Lets see if quality suffers.

Avoid. Brought an expensive comforter that specifically says not to machine wash on the tag and they obviously did. Came back with all the filling messed up and very worn looking. People take expensive fabrics/garments to dry cleaners so theyll take care of them, not ruin them.

Excellent service and quality. They are also one of the few Green dry cleaners in the area. The manager Dale actually toured me around and showed me the green technology. They go out of the way not to damage your clothes/buttons, etc.

The reasons are too long to list. This place deserve to go out of business. TERRIBLE customer service - from cashier to manager to owner - a complete joke. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this place at all cost.
