Matthew did not listen to me when I told him that my hair will turn red as I have experienced in the past when I due it, so now I have red hair instead of blonde hair because he took no precautions to make sure that my hair did not turn red the only solution he wants to give me is that he could put toner on it,charge me more and spans more time. I didnt have time to spend since i waited 20 mins for him to finish with another person 15 while he smoled, and the dye to process. This was by far the worst experience that I could possibly ever had because now my hair looks way worse than it ever did before. Then to top it off when I was upset checking out not saying anything except check me out the cashier said that he was going to call the police on me if I raise my voice at him again I told him check me out now Im under no obligation to be nice to people I am only under obligations to pay my bill and he wanted to call the police on me because I was upset dont ever go to the salon it is the worst Salon I have ever had the unfortunate experience of going to.. I could have achieved the results I got today by buying a box of dye.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! When I moved to the Jacksonville area I needed to find a new hairstylist. Before I moved, I went to an Aveda salon for almost 7 years, so I knew I wanted to find another Aveda salon. I found the Daniel James Salon via Google and I made an appointment with Carlos for a cut and color. I WAS SO PLEASED! I am very picky about my hair and trusted the same person to do it back home for 7 years before I moved. I was hesitant to have to find someone new. Carlos was great and I was so impressed! The color was EXACTLY what I asked for. It is expensive to go there, but well worth it (in my opinion). I will be returning Carlos for my next cut and color. I have definitely found my new salon and new hairstylist.

There are no words to describe the extent of damage that was done to my hair by this salon. I have had to have extensive and costly work done to recover from some of the damage, but it is ongoing process. To top it off, the stylist proceeded to argue with me and draw attention to the situation by everyone else in the room. I was tempted to give it a shot after recently moving here from Atlanta due to their convenient location, but I was extremely disappointed and frustrated. This salon is truly the reason why stereotypes exist regarding the availability of high quality salons in smaller cities.

I called this morning to see if I could get an appointment same day. Sometimes things go your way. I was feeling low and tired, needed a new look. Not only did I get a same day appointment, but the owner did my hair. I am a business owner downtown too, and my 12 hour days dont leave much personal time. The staff was very accommodating and when they were finished I walked out feeling like a new person. I recommended this salon to every business owner I know. I started going to Daniel James because its close to work, and I keep going because I like it so much. The space itself is lovely - its an old building thats been gutted and redone in a modern loft vibe. Theres an inner courtyard with skylights and plants - its got to be one of the coolest buildings in Jax. There are different price levels based on the the experience of the stylist, so it doesnt have to cost you a fortune. I see Chudni - shes a great stylist and makes me feel comfortable.

Cant say enough about this wonderful salon. I have followed Dan wherever he has gone since the late 80s. He operates a salon that is professional and relaxing. The appointments are timely and the focus is on your needs. The staff is wonderful and always welcoming. Dan stays current with products and training and offers only the best recommendations for all his clients. I continue to refer my friends to the Daniel James Salon without hesitation. You will not be disappointed.

Ive been going to Aveda salons since I was a teenager. When I moved to Jacksonville, I was disappointed with my first two Aveda experiences. Fortunately I tried a third salon, because I LOVE Daniel James Salon! Chudni has been doing my hair for a couple years now and shes phenomenal! I am not a huge fan of coloring my hair, but when I do (when grays start poking out - eek!) she does a fantastic job. I couldnt imagine going anywhere else!

This was my first visit and I was extremely pleased! Matthew was my stylist and he was very attentive and skilled. He offered useful hair maintenance tips and was very down to earth. I felt like a queen with a head and neck massage and drink, and the price was extremely affordable. All the staff were very sweet and helpful, and even gave me some advice for events in the area! I highly recommend!

I followed Dan to downtown years ago and love every visit. Dan is "the best" for color, highlights and cut and makes sure his staff is 5-Star as well. Everywhere I go - compliments about my haircut or color. Fun to see all the fabulous looks on all the guests by a really creative and professional team of stylists. The Daniel James Salon is a beautiful space and the whole staff goes out of their way to make you feel special. The master stylist I worked with was very knowledgable and made me feel great. When I left my new style looked excellent and I felt confident I could manage to pull off the same results on my own.

I found this Salon when I moved here 4 years ago. My hair has NEVER looked better. I always get compliments on the color and the cut. The staff is friendly and always provide great professional service. Theyre so great that my 7 year old son allows them to cut his hair. Love this place.
