This location on Missouri ave is a joke. I was member at the one at park Blvd The staff at that location were great informative friendly and it was pleasure seeing them but the Missouri a total different story. I stopped my membership because I started a new job and moved. Once I got settled I went to the one on Missouri. The worst experience ever.i went in there and told them I wanted to rejoin first impression rude and unorganized it had only been about 6 months since I stopped. Well to begin with no discount, paid a new membership fee, then after they got my money no your and I had paid upfront when I was member for 22 personal trainer sessions. I had paid 2500 for those sessions well I had 10 left and asked if I could still have them he supposedly looked and told me no problem and would get back to me.well 4 months later havent heard from him after I called to inquire twice. To add to that they charge me every month. They never did a re assessment even though I paid full new membership fee. Their response was I know everything and wont need their asst just start.Really they dont have the time to give me a tour of a facility I never been too. Six months since I been there and they blow me off how rude is that . You would think I paid but cant get 1 he of their time they dont what physically might have happen in that six months. Unbelievable the arrogance and cockiness of this staff. To add I asked to cancel my membership over the phone the response was come in between 8 to 5 monday through Friday to cancel cant do it any other way REALLY seems like most people work those hours including me. I would never recommend that location I rather travel 7 miles to the park Blvd location then go to the one 1 Mike and a half from my house. Never in my 54 years have I experience such an unpleasant experience . Good luck getting any response all they want is your money. No recommendation from me. Thanks for listening. .

The newness of the gym is very nice. I do notice that they keep it immaculately clean with hard working cleaning employees. The mexican/spanish cleaning employee (sorry I do not know her name but I will make a point of asking her the next time I attend), is extremely friendly and sweet. The female manager never has time for anyone (she came from the LA that closed on East Bay). With that said, I come to work out and not socialize with the staff so I am ok with staff coolness. What really bothers me though, is that it is too corporate run. The classes are NOT tailored to their specific customers. Many of us have requested more/different classes and they have just now added a few new classes. (more spinning in the morning). Some of the class instructors are excellent ex. Tami and Sean). Others are not very good. (I wont mention names). Many of us have questioned why classes are overlapping. For example, if you attend a spinning class at 9:15AM, it is impossible to attend a Body Works class at 9:45AM without sacrificing the true benefit of both workouts. When a customer asks questions concerning classes, usually the response is that "no one knows the answer because everything is corporate run". I am an avid exerciser and have belonged to many gyms in my day. Most gyms stager classes appropriately so that customers can adequately attend more than one easily. If you want to come and just work out by yourself in a clean environment, this center is for you. If you would like good classes with talented, friendly instructors, join the YMCA on Highland Ave. They have classes one after another all day long (for those that enjoy classes).

I have been coming to La Fitness for about a year, and a second time member. Im a office manager for a local rehab clinic, and always had recommended LA fitness to our patients and keep their fliers and week passes in our facility. After experiencing horrendous customer service this month, i will throw away all the media and transfer employee memberships to other local gyms. I deal with day to day customer service, and unhappy patients with lack of understanding of insurance claims. I know how hard it is to get people to understand a complex medical claim. I get it dealing with people can be frustrating. But long story short, this La fitness has left me with such a bitter taste in my mouth. My concerns and questions were never answered properly. For about two weeks i was giving the okay everything is fine, even though i kept getting numerous calls from billing department stating otherwise. My account was on freeze mode since November of 2016 ( due to medical issues) i didnt cancel because i was hoping i was going to be back on the gym quickly, but that wasnt the case. For 5 months they were able collect $53.10 without a problem, $10.70 per month. I decide to cancel my membership and thats were everything goes downhill. They didnt honor my dues pay in advance. Stating they were fees associated with my account, and cancel my membership immediately. What fees? i been absent from the gym close to 6 months?? Anyhow they lost a forever customer after, and numerous other prospects of memberships. I will be recommending patients to other local gyms.

Of course the gym is beautiful its brand new, no complaints there! The staff, horrible! Front desk girls are rude and unapproachable. For goodness sake ladies, just a smile or a genuine good morning would suffice here, but I digress. The personal trainers (or whatever they are) are the worst, especially the manager of the personal trainers. This man Tom has literally detered me from wanting to work out at this gym. He humiliated me and made a remark toward me that no woman should ever have to endure! I felt trapped and sad by his remark, which ultimately brought me back to my days of being bullied in school about my weight. The fact that this man is even a personal trainer scares me. I thought they were supposed to build up your confidence and self esteem, instead I was torn down and told that I should take whatever extras Im spending on food and put it toward personal training. Personal training (in my eyes) has been rendered obsolete by free, downloadable apps! I just wanted the free assessment. Just remember that when they are charging you $1000 a year for personal training.

Really enjoyed working out here, until I needed to cancel my membership due to taking a pay cut at work. I was unable to cancel my training membership because I didnt have the $800.00 required. They refused to let me make payments on this amount and forced me into the position of putting a Stop Payment since they were overdrafting my bank account. Last week I gave an employee my new card number so she could charge $10 and freeze my "Gym Membership" account and I woke up this morning to find that they charged me $320.00 on a card they were not authorized to use towards my "personal training" account. Not to mention when I told the personal trainer that I could meet him at 8AM, Because I had to work, he said, "well, if you can just suck it up and make it in here". and why my person training cost $160 a month when my trainer only received $6.00 a session still blows my mind. Definitely turned out to be a bad experience. Small less money hungry gyms are definitely the way to go.
