This place is not terrible for summer camps, but it is pretty darned close to terrible! I should have known better when I was never even offered a tour of the facility where my kids would be staying. From the beginning I had problems with even enrolling my kids. I had to return several times because they did not have the proper forms and did not request the right information. Then when I paid the down payments, they had a great deal of trouble getting me a receipt, which should have been given the day I signed up my two 6 and 9-year old kids. Several days I went to drop them off in the morning so I could head to work and the place was closed and they were late arriving, making me late for work. One of the days I was forced to leave my kids waiting outside of the building with a few of the group leaders who were also waiting for the one who had the key to show up. Then, the Camp leader was constantly pulling me aside to tell me all of the horrible nasty things my daughter was supposedly doing, like "not listening" and "spitting on another child". After some discussion with my kids about what was happening, she admitted to not listening (not getting in line when told to, not putting away art supplies when told, etc) she said she never once spit on anyone. When I asked the camp who it was my daughter supposedly spit on so that I could get to the bottom of it, no one could tell me who the other child was and offered no help whatsoever. Apparently at this camp anyone can accuse your kids of anything they like and your kid will have ZERO right to face their accuser or try to defend themselves. They will be automatically guilty and "written up" regardless if they did anything or not. In the beginning, I was also told that I could sign my kids up for swimming lessons and that they would be taken from the camp building to the main building, every day for a lesson. I paid for these lessons... only to find out later that they offer NO such lessons at all, and wanted to "credit my account" for what I paid for the lessons that did not exist. I witnessed other parents there, extremely upset and agitated, yelling at administrators over the fact they were not asked to send their kids to camp with sunscreen and then seeing their kids badly burned from sun exposure, as the camps leaders would neither find sunscreen to use on them nor would they allow the child to stay indoors or remain in the shade. I chose this camp because it was cost effective. You get what you pay for folks!!

Some of the machines are a little out of date and they are continually behind on maintenance. The treadmills especially are generally pretty worn out for such a steep gym membership price. Also, the gym is awash with kids--which is fine, but they are also generally unsupervised. The youth program is not well confined or supervised, and the membership engagement could be a lot better. The pool is frequently booked out by swim teams so that there is only one pool available for public use, and the lanes arent managed all that well. This is a good step toward a community place, but with all the gyms out there this particular YMCA isnt doing the best job of competing--its just a gym for the most part, other than the childrens after school programs. I will say that the facilities and grounds are usually very clean and the child care programs and facilities are great. The staff and engagement just needs a boost.

Gym is small but passable. However, if you have an infant or toddler and you need to have them watch the kid while you workout, good luck trying to get a full workout in. The kids club staff apparently has no ability or interest in working with younger kids and will think up very lame excuses for you to have to come get your kid, forcing you to cut your workout short. It looks like all teenagers running the kids club, with no experience in dealing with babies so their solution to every problem is to make the parent come get their kid. If you need a gym with a kids club that actually does their job, L.A. Fitness is the better choice.

pool is always not avaible to due the practice there swim lesson and water arobic make it full where most cant swim on time manners and inconvinces too...The machines need to be updated, and also seem like The kids club(child of mine always gotta call on,The manager that handle the kids club seem like she is discrimation over handcap kids, and her boss is not working around the parents to make the kid club easier so therefor want to kick my child out when iv paid for child care that come with my membership,so Ya I give one star

My 10 year old son just started his basketball tryouts on Sat and everyone was very nice and helpful. The facilities are extremely nice. And most importantly my son had a great time running all the drills and already made a friend and likes all the coaches he worked with. As soon as he starts playing games I will update my opinion :)

Good place but awful lifeguards. My kid was drowning while a bunch of 16 year old "lifeguards" including the swimming instructor stood around chit chatting. Completely clueless. Someone needs to step in and clean house. The lifeguards are completely worthless and unaccountable. No standards for safety at all.

I joined this location when I first moved here and I loved it. The staff is nice. The pool area is really lovely, plenty of chairs. I found the other members to be friendly, I didnt feel out of place being overweight. When I moved and had to stop membership it was easy. Very nice place.

The gym is wonderful. Good equipment, polite staff and wonderful members. The swim coach is AWFUL. Hes rude, hes crass, and his demeaning character is not a secret to anyone who goes to the pool deck. I am beyond confused as to how he maintains his position on staff.

This is a wonderful facility overall and most of the staff are phenomenal, except sophia duke, the aquatics director and Julio Vega. They dont care about their employees or the members. Some managers here have biased relationships and its pretty sickening.

Great staff, great equipment, pool (outdoor) is very nice, variety of classes, and basketball courts are usually open and range from little kids to competitive adult pick-up games.

Great staff!! You feel like part of a family. My son volunteers and it has been a great learning experience. Special thanks to Kathy from kid zone and Breezy from the front desk.

Have been doing kids sports here for years, it is starting to slip a little with less teams and seems less organized. Hope they can turn it around.
