We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now. From the outside it can look like its a bit more fussy or formal than we like but we were so pleasantly surprised when we went for lunch today. Since it was spur of the moment we were both dressed very casually-shorts and jeans. The owner greeted us at the door and a very nice young man gave us our menus. Bread was brought to our table immediately. It was hot and steaming and smelled great. You could smell the rosemary as they sat it down. Our appetizer of stuffed mushrooms was great also. One of the specials for lunch was a smoked Salmon over spinach salad. It was fantastic. 3 different kinds of berries and the salmon was sliced perfectly for the salad. My husband had baked salmon and his was just as good. The service was also very good. Attentive without being pushy. The prices were so much better than I expected. Most of the entrees we saw on the lunch menu such as Lasagne, Ravioli and more were around the $9.00 to $10.00 range which is good for the amount of food you receive. We will definitely be going back here. I think we found our new favorite.

Weve been and seen what brief success can mean to a place. in fact, this place was a favorite,.albeit for a very short time. The owner of this dump has put WAY too much faith and frankly the worth in the likes of his "head" chef and also that of his ability to run a restaurant. I mean, lets face it. Hes failed repeatedly! Wed been to Mesa de Notte many times and on about our 6th go-around began to see that the owner cares little, if at all. of exactly how predictably moronic his staff of waiters are. When you couple that fact with how literally PUTRID our last meal was AND the owners had zero in "making it right," lets put it this way. I think you to will be typically NOT surprised if one day soon, and just like this others once other establishments, youll find yourself at the front door of Mesa de Notte and find a "Permanently Closed" sign taped to the it. (And the back door too!) When this the case, head over to the Charlie Horse folks. The soft drinks dont cost almost $4.00 and its hard for any food place to screw up a hamburger!

The place stunk when you walked in. The smell of grandma making all your favorite Italian food was non existent. There wasnt a warm welcome at all. The Sangria tasted like it came out of the cheapest bottle of wine and the fruit inside the glass were left over rind. The mushrooms onto the brushetta tasted and looked like they were dumped out of a can. The filet mignon was covered in grizzle cooked unevenly. It was ordered medium and was between medium well and well done the scallops were underdone. The chicken eggplant was horrible. The chicken was so thin and heavily breaded it literally tasted like it came out of the freezer and by the temperature of the meal when it was served it had enough time to defrost but was cold when it was served The only good thing about the meal were the water and the hot homemade rolls. They serve the rolls with straight olive oil so if you want flavor bring your own. Warning the owner is delusional about his restaurant and his food. He needs a wake up call from Gordon Ramsay

I made my 2nd visit to Mesa de Notte with great anticipation. The 1st visit was so wonderful, it took all I could do not to over eat. The food was that good, fresh and fun from the bread to the last bite before I let them wrap some up to bring home. Second visit could not have been more disappoiting! Bread was a different type, stale and hard, salad became the trite, boring, iceberg concoction....I cant even begin to describe how someone new recreated the once fabulous, light, fresh, spaghetti and meatballs into a heavy, greasy ball of poor fare with questionable "meatballs". There is obviously a new cook in the kitchen and a new budget on the books. Probably explains why the1st visit (same nights, same times) the place was full, 2nd visit there were only 4 booths with diners. How sad to see this once exceptional restaurant go the way of so many as they wind their way down.

My husband Ed and I went to Mesa de Notte on Wednesday, January 16th. I had a long day at work and didnt want to cook, I just wanted to relax. Where else do we go but to Mesa de Notte. We enjoyed an awesome appetizer of Calamari in a pomodore sauce, then Ed had the Pork Osso bucco with pancetta polenta. I decided on the grilled lamb chops with a merlot/marsala reduction, I chose to have rapini and asparagus as my sides!! We were not disappointed, Our meals were cooked to perfection. We cherish the servers and know them all by name, they welcome us everytime we come to enjoy dinner as if we were coming home to family who just so happens to make the most awesome italian cuisine out there. Whenever anyone asks me where to go for a good dinner and atmosphere, my reply is Mesa de Notte!!! Buen Cibo :)

It was a friday night around 7pm that we arrived. Greeted upon entry by Chef/Owner. We advised that we had no reservations but would like a table for two. "No problem; a short wait " was the reply. We found our way to the well stocked bar and an excellent mixologist. While at bar, we chatted with a lovely couple who were there from Inverness. Table ready even before cocktails were finished. Dining was devine. Waitstaff ( special shoutout to Joshia) were all prompt and courteous. Chef made it a point to visit our table to inquire about meal and service. We advised Both were 5 Stars. Highly recommended by us.

Good slow cooked Italian fare. I had the chicken Marsala and it was very good. I had to have another dinner roll brought over so that I didnt leave any sauce on the plate. A little pricey for me, but Im used to pub food. Plates start at 18 could be 28 or more. Good wine list and the house wine was fantastic. Just make sure you wear a shirt with a collar, its a classy place and Im sure I brought the atmosphere down with my Star Wars tee shirt. Haha. But they didnt say anything. Overall very good Italian food in a classy atmosphere.

Loved this place, one would not know it since no one YELPS about it. Great place for special occasions or taking guests. The seasoning of the food was great, like youve gone to Italy, and the price decent, and acceptable. I have been charged more for food in downtown square for tasteless food. that quite frankly is insulting to the culture it is purportedly to imitate!!

The staff is extremely pleasant and its great to see the owner making his way to each table to make sure everyones meals are as expected. If you are vegetarian or gluten free he will if need be make something different just for you. Love this place especially the food!
