How about NO stars! Showboat car wash is owned by a total A-hole, and with an a-s-s-h-o-l-e on-site manager, who each do not give a damn about these things called CUSTOMERS! I know; I spoke with both of them to complain about the lack of real cleaning and barely any water used when the car was being "washed." This p-u-n-k owns one of ONLY two automated car washes in St. Augustine. The other one is staffed by still drinking alcoholics and ex cons, and you even get to let these low life drive your car into the almost destroyed car wash (oh yeah, sign me up!). I went through this showboat wash on about 15 different occasions and had soap residue and dirt left all over my vehicle EVERY time. Why? Because they barely use any water. They do not even RINSE the vehicle BEFORE they start spraying it with soap, and running the harsh brushes, so your vehicle will positively have scratches on it from all the embedded dirt in the beat up brushes, and dirt particles on your car, unless YOU pre-rinse it at home before driving to showboat. The "free" vacuums with the disgustingly sticky hoses have little suction and not enough hose length to reach the back seat of a vehicle. On four occasions, the blow dryers were broken and they STILL ripped people off by running them through and charging the full price. On 2 other occasions, I saw the rude manager arguing with Customers after the showboat machinery had damaged their cars! I saw the damage firsthand. Bottom line: NEVER go to this hole run by a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s!! ATTENTION INVESTORS: want to make a 100% SOLID NET $150,000 +++ annual income? Build a REAL car wash in St. Augustine to blow these two LOSERS who own the only ones here, out of the water! You will be booked 7 days a week. I guarantee it! Everyone in St. Aug HATES the two worthless "car washes" here!

I have a black car, so every time its washed it needs to be toweled dried to prevent water spots, etc... I went here an paid for the crappy drive thru wash ($18) and extra $2 bucks for a towel dry and for them to wipe down rims and the tires. The girl wiped one side of the hood (as I watched inside the car) and around the back of the car and was done. When I went to use the free vacuums, which couldnt even suck up a straw wrapper on my floor board and thats when I looked at the car... water spots all over, one side of the hood and looked bad considering I had just paid $20 dollars to be ripped off. And scratches from the old scrub brush they scrubbed it down with on a sandy car, they dipped it in a water bucket and started scrubbing down the car whic had not been rinsed with water first. I told then that and they wiped down my car with the pink window cleaner, yes... window cleaner! I have a black crossfire! And they cleaned it with window cleaner! My car looked better before I went in than when I left there. I didnt notice the scratches to the paint until I got home and I talked to the manager on the phone just now which said they do around 300 cars daily and they do them all the same way and they dont have any problems. My reply was, Im embarrassed for you! He did say to come in and he would look at it. Since I cant go up there right now, I am to go later today and I will let you know what they said or do. P.S. YOU WILL BE BETTER GOING TO A GAS STATION TO ONE OF THEIR CAR WASHES ITS ALL AROUND BETTER! THIS WAS A RIP OFF AND IF YOU GO HERE IT WONT TAKE LONG FOR YOU TO REALIZE IT!!!!!! DONT GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A CRAP CAR THAT YOU WANT WASHED AND YOU DONT CARE ABOUT THE OUTCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last time I visited Sportys, I paid for one of the more expensive washes. My car looked great- however sometime while I was in the wash, my antenna cover was knocked off the top of my car. I noticed it when I was vacuuming and notified one of the employees to got a manager. The manager first questioned the fact that the antenna cover was on when I first entered the wash. He had to review the cameras. When he realized that it was on before I entered he "looked" inside the wash for the cover but "could not find it". At most, maybe 5 people went thru the wash after me.. so there is no way the cover could have gone missing that quickly. I filled out an accident report and he promised that he would call me by TUESDAY at the latest (keep in mind that this was a Thursday) and I have yet to hear if they have found my cover or not.... 3 weeks later. I would have been happy with a call stating that they apologized they had not found it yet and a few free washes to cover the expense of me having to order and have installed a new antenna cover- but nope, nothing.

Short version: great service and fantastic people. Please go! Long version: My mom and I went today to go get wash for my car. We were met with kind and friendly service when we went to pay. About halfway through the wash, we were suddenly struck twice from behind and everything was quickly powered down. After being carefully and safely guided out of the wash, we were informed that the car behind us had neglected to put their car in neutral and had hit us. Luckily, both cars were unharmed. The two men who initially helped us quickly wiped the suds off the back of my car and encouraged me to inspect for damage. Then a manager ran over and asked my mother and I at least three times if we were alright, which we were. They were all obviously very concerned for our wellbeing, as well as my cars. After ensuring that we were alright, they encouraged us to go back through the wash and insisted on giving us the highest tier service with no charge. My mother and I are beyond thrilled with their service, concern, kindness, and level-headedness.

I really wanted to give this place a good review. Theyre close to my house and they have decent prices. Almost everyone who works there actually cleaning the cars and doing the manual labor/interacting with the customers is pretty great. Theyre nice young kids mostly and they do a great job. However, the management and their customer service is extremely poor--so poor that it brought what would otherwise be a 4 star review down to 2 for me. In particular, the older blonde woman who seems to run the place and works the cash register has a terrible attitude and treats customers with utter and obvious contempt. I spent 50 dollars on the premium package, yet after my service was complete, I was immediately and rudely ushered off the premises at the blonde womans behest when I stopped in their parking lot to check the work and touch up my car. Very disappointing that a place with such good employees would be managed by such a cold and unfriendly person.

Used to be a great car wash.. recently returned to St Augustine for and stopped by Showboat for a wash and to vaccum out my car mats. Have taken my vehicle through several times in the past with great results. Unfortunately, not the same results this trip. Purchased the $11.00 "Good" wash. Upon pulling into the car wash, I noticed the two attendants didnt pre-rinse off my vehicle. Noticed in my rearview mirror that they did however for the car behind me. After exiting and pulling into the vaccum area, I noticed that several spots still had soap suds and didnt get rinsed off or dried. After a quick dry in the sun, Im pretty sure more dirt and water spots were now on the exterior paint than before the wash. Also upon closer inspection, noticed several fine, swirl scratches on the hood and front A pillars, as well as a deep gash on the hood thru the clear cloat and paint. Will not be returning in the future.
