College Hunks made a nightmare situation into something much more manageable and convenient! Our family experienced a nightmare closing experience and were looking at an unexpected and unknown closing date due to disorganization with the mortgage company. We found ourselves living in a half boxed up apartment and unable to work with our friends to help move due to the unknown date. We were frantically trying to find a company that would be able to pack up remaining items and moves us within hours notice, while also trying to reschedule deliveries and installations. Within the first moments of speaking with Ryan, I knew we would be in good hands. His cheerful, positive demeanor and initiative during a time I was more or less in a state of panic put me at ease. He did everything to tentatively schedule us times and movers to make sure we would be in our new home as soon as we were able. He stayed in constant contact, always answering his phone when I would call with updates. On the day of the move, the movers were fast and efficient. Cameron came in with a plan, directives, and packed, wrapped, and boxed everything with care and such a professional demeanor. At the time, we lived on third floor and know this wasnt the easiest move. All the movers worked quickly and without complaint or hesitation. Ryan even came by to check on us and help box some glass kitchen items. It showed such a dedication to our experience! Once arriving at our new home, they offered to unload our additional UHaul with even heavier pieces. After the experience, we found our final bill was significantly lower than our original quote. We will be recommending College Hunks for any future movers and will utilize them in the event we have to do this again!

I used College Hunks in 2011 to move and had flawless service. I decided to use them to move again on 10/11/13 and that was a big mistake. The moving crew appeared to be very inexperienced including the team leader. The move took an excessive amount of time and my furniture was stacked like junk in the truck. The furniture was not tied down or secured in the truck. When they unloaded the truck, they threw the furniture in a pile like it was junk. They were so slow/disorganized that I had to help them to meet a time deadline set by the condo association. Needless to say, multiple items were damaged. The team leader put a large flower pot on top on my dining room table and then he slid it across the top of the table putting deep scratches in the finish. They sent a repairman to fix all the other pieces of furniture. When the repairman called to get authorization to repair the table, College Hunks refused to authorize stating that they only owe so much per pound. When I pushed the matter, they agreed to repair it. It was so badly damaged that the repairman took the table off site. The repairman said it would take 30 days and that was on 10/29/13. I called the repairman on 3/12/14 and he said they have the table but College Hunks is not using them any longer. They were waiting for a new repair vendor to pick up the table. I called the assistant mgr, Acey on 3/13/14 and he never returned my call. I called again on 4/18/14 and spoke to Adam, he said someone would call me back, but no one did. I called the manager Brandon on 4/22/14 and he never returned my call either. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau on 4/24/14 and they have not responded to the complaint. Something is very wrong.

This is the second review Ive written in my life and the first one was glowing; I take these things seriously. I am extremely disappointed in this company and will NEVER recommend them to anyone. First, I think they way they price "junk" removal is a scam. They tell you that is by the amount in eighths that you fill a truck. What they dont tell you is that its not a truck. Its a dump bed with no ceiling, so items cannot even be packed appropriately. The prices are astronomical but I was in a bind and needed these large items removed from my home and was out of time. Second, I was given a 3-5 pm window. At 4:20 they called to say they were 30 minutes away. At 5:15 they showed up. Third, the two guys that showed up seemed to have no knowledge of what I had requested. I had a ton of things that I wanted to go to goodwill, most of which was in excellent shape. They didnt seem to know about this. I had asked if they could move a single piece of furniture upstairs for me, they also had no knowledge of this. I also had a lot of garbage removal (as I had recently moved in to my new home) and they did not know about that either. Lastly, I was told I would have a receipt from goodwill for tax purposes the next day. It has been 8 days and two phone calls to them and I have not received it, nor any response from the company. This leads me to believe that either 1- my belongings were never donated, 2- the company keeps these things and maybe sells them for additional profit, or 3- furniture and items in good shape when to the dump, where they could have been used to better someone elses life. I caution anyone who is considering this company.

WORST experience. They are unprofessional and broke many things. Management was just as bad. My estimate was 1900 and I was charged 4200. They had every excuse but I was quoted was for whole house. I had moved my own breakables and several boxes (prior to the move) and had given all the patio furniture away. They moved way less than I originally expected and left things in garage. I had to pay a neighbors kids to fill a pick up with what was left. I have called numerous times and even have a letter from 2 months ago stating they would pay $500 for broken stuff. I have yet to see it, even after speaking to different management people numerous times and RESENDING their letter and pictures. They acted like everything got lost from the original complaint. It was not because they referred to it during phone call. I felt I was completely scammed. I could go on with examples but this one illustrates much of the ridiculousness during the move. So, 2 of the 3 guys were standing around for awhile, when we asked why they were not working, they stated they only had one dolly since they packed the other in the front of the truck. So only one guy could use the dolly since the other one was inaccessible.. They had to wait. I cant make this up. They do not care once they get your money. They underbid and then overcharged me. Dont fall for it. Moving is frustrating enough.

Good service up to the point of receiving a quote for removing items from my garage. The person who provided the estimate examined the items and told me the cost would be their "minimum" of $120. I was good with that. I asked him about removal of an additional item. He called his manager to verify if there would be an additional fee. The manager said no, but his quote needed to be closer to $180-$200. There in lies the problem. When I first called they were very vague on pricing. They give themselves plenty of leeway, which I get. However, I was told that someone could come out and provide a quote for a firm price. I was quoted $120, only to be changed 5 minutes later. Also, the person who suggested a higher price WASNT EVEN THERE to assess the situation. This tells me that the person providing the quote had no idea what they were doing or the "manager" was trying to over charge me. Either way this whole process lacks integrity and tells me all their "how can I make your day better" customer service is fake.
