We just moved away from Tampa and really miss Seaborn Day School. Both our boys attended this location and had wonderful experiences. The facilities did look rough around the edges but that wasnt an indicator of the quality of care the kids receive. I guess they could raise the tuition to provide a shiny building. The staff was caring and creative, which made it fun for the kids to learn. They got a lot of little things right that other places miss, like a warm welcome and goodbye every day to every child. They had many celebrations throughout the year for holidays. Academically, our older child was very well prepared for kindergarten when he finished the 4 year old class. To the point of another review that the child must stay home 24 hours after an illness - thats common among day care facilities. One good thing about Seaborn is that they are open on so many days that public schools are closed, so young elementary kids can drop in for the day. I give it 5 stars, not because it was perfect, but because we really did love it and they got so much right about caring for the kids. Weve now experienced 3 different day care facilities and Seaborn is still our favorite.

My experience with Seaborn Day School was more of a day care than a school. My son attended the Hyde Park location for one year. For those under three, there are a several associates on staff that truly do care about providing an enriching experience, but too many others are only concerned with avoiding work doing the minimum. Also, the facilities at this school are lacking. The buildings are old and in disrepair. Lastly, if they say your child is sick they will try to send them home for two days when their policy and the policy of the county is that the child may not return for "one full day", which is 24 hours.

I walked in for an interview/tour to enroll my child and apparently some of the teachers did not notice a parent was in the facility and continued to discuss very inappropriate topics while using vulgar language with children present. During the tour I notice that ceiling tiles were stained with possible mold and I noticed water stains and damage in the back rooms. Also during the tour, I did not appreciate the pushy attitude to enroll now and to make a quick decision. Overall the facility looked unsanitary, staff seemed nonprofessional, and I would not enroll my child in such conditions.

I loved this school! My son was always well taken care of and loved! He also learned so much and was well prepared for Kindergarten, even without going through the Pre-K class. I hate that we had to leave and wish that my daughter couldve attended. It really is the best day school (NOT day CARE) in Tampa!
