Unfortunately I can see why there are a couple of other bad reviews. We started off with a small tumbling class in which the kids had a great time. We needed a small class because of very shy and anxious kids. After just a few classes we were told competitions would make her (Heather) absent the next week. That turned into NO class for 3 weeks then that turned into telling us we couldnt resume for over a month. Mind you we had to chase down any communication because she reads messages but doesnt respond. The excuses started flying, first it was because the classes was too small then it was scheduling issues, she could never really quite give an explanation. Then after requesting our $50 registration fee be returned because we wouldnt get use of it, she says she can find a sub for a few classes. The sub was great,t he kids loved her. Then after trying to reach Heather to pay her for classes we find out the sub is going to be our permanent instructor which was fine but thats not what we were told. 4 classes later, after again trying to reach Heather to pay her because she was a no show after class one night, we run into her on the way to the room. Only then she tells us it would be our last class. So how would we have known if we hadnt run into her? She tells us she will no longer have access to the room for the summer. Now why would we sign our kids up in May, pay $50 to "register" then not have any more classes as of June?? We wouldnt! Horrible communication, does not run a business well and bad mouthed other dance studios. So now the kids are sad and miss the sub and classes and were still out $50 registration fee that we didnt even get use of.

Press family, though we are concerned for your distress are MANY FACTS BEING LEFT OUT. From our knowledge you could not make the weekly class and we were told you would be signing 4 students up,SO WE CREATED A CLASS FOR YOU ON SATURDAYS for the 4 expected students . 4 students is necessary to cover the teacher fees. It is unheard of to create a special class to accommodate on our 10 hour rehearsal days in the middle of competition season especially. However, only 2 students took the class costing us each week. Yet, we continued for the sake of dance. Secondly, usually studios charge a semi private rate for only 2 students which is $60 and hour, You were able to pay $12.50 a week for a private class with only 2 children. Thirdly, after creating this class for your convenience in the middle of our competition season, we had to hire another teacher for your students in order to maintain competition rehearsal and allow your family to dance...which cost us $25.00 a class. additionally your registration fee money was offered back to you early on but you stated you wanted to stay throughout summer. NOW summer schedule is different than fall schedule which is posted in the studio, website and our facebook. We are concerned for any mutual inconvenience but are confident in the fact we did everything in our power to accommodate your family on our end. feel free to contact us anytime! I have been with Just Dance Academy for 5 years, as a parent and a teacher. I have seen my child blossom and truly feel that this is a family. When you have a safe and warm environment for your child to learn and grow you feel safe. My child has a family with moms all around who care about her...none more that Heather Walts. She has never been about money, but proper training and technique. Children need positive role models in all areas especially little girls in this day and age, someone to hug them and tell them they are good enough and talented and beautiful. I have not seen this type of attention given at any other studio. Heather continues her own education with Dance Masters yearly, this is super important as the industry changes, styles change, and true technique is constantly being refined. This is not a studio where you pay to get a student to teach you, or a non-professional. We do many professional appearances and have the benefit of Pam Walts who is involved heavily in casting. SO if you want your child to dance for fun and family this is the place...if you want your child to actually work in the industry or get a college scholarship they need to be taught by someone who stays relevant. Do your homework!

We are starting our second year with Just Dance Academy of Tarpon Springs!! Our daughter fell in love since day 1 and still LOVES it!! Heather is AMAZING with the girls, very patient and spends time with each one individually to make sure they are learning each step correctly!! The recital was out of this world as well!! We are so excited to be starting our second year with JDA and look forward to all the wonderful achievements our daughter will make this year. The other dance teachers are just as wonderful from what I could see of their relationships with their dancers during all recital practices and then to see them perform at the recital, just so blessed to have found such a wonderful dance studio for our daughter to learn at. Not every dance studio is the same, and in our opinion, Just Dance Academy surpasses them all!! We drive 30 minutes one way just to attend practices each week, as we could easily go to a closer studio, and choose to stay at JDA!! Its not just a dance studio, its a dance family!!

While living in Florida, I was honored to teach a few clogging classes at Just Dance Academy. My experience surpassed any other studio Ive ever worked with. It started with Heather: She is amazing to work under and has a passion for dance, and for her business like you wouldnt believe! I could see in no time that her dancers most highly respected and admired her. The dancers were also an honor to work with. These girls were top notch, constantly on their game, extremely versatile, and respectful. The level of sportsmanship the dancers showed highly exceeded my expectations, as well. I would recommend this dance studio to anyone interested in advancing their skill level, or anyone interested in just having a great time. Heather has an astounding program, and I cant wait to see her company thrive and flourish to its fullest. Ethan Connolly.

My daughter, 5 y.o., had a traumatic experience at this school with the owner and the teacher Heater Waltz, whereby she was subjected to retaliation. Having started the year with a passion for dancing, my daughter left in tears and no desire to dance. Moreover, it was a struggle every class because Ms. Waltz did not bother to hide her attitude toward my child, she also created an unwelcoming atmosphere for those who were not paying her top $$ for private classes, etc. I believe Heater Waltz is unprofesdional as an educator and should not work with little children. ... Now when she forms a joint venture with Diana R. from "Dance Evolutions" (who is an excellent teacher), we regretfully have to leave Ms. Diana because we are not giving our business to Heater Waltz.

Both my girls have been with JDA since day one and both have grown tremendously with the great training through the years . This is not just a dance studio for them but a family . Heather Walts owner/instructor /choreographer loves and truly cares for her students . She will go above and beyond . All the children adore her and look up to her . She is by far one of the best creative Choriagophers locally winning big at all dance competitions with her company team and receiving endless studio awards and choreography awards . I am very pleased with the growth of this studio and wouldnt want anything but the best for my girls and jda is the best .
