I am appalled at the Zumba classes that they have here! Being a licensed instructor myself who teaches at a different location, I know the protocol and standards that should be set. The instructors are consistently late and end classes early. Last Friday the class started 35 minutes late. The Sunday before no one showed up to teach the class and the front desk never told anyone, the schedule online did not shoe it was cancelled. There are two instructors who are very good, one teaches Tuesday morning and the other generally on Monday and Friday evenings. But, the others are horrible!!! Someone from management needs to look into these instructors and their inability to teach a proper Zumba class. One class (Wednesday evening) where another fellow Zumba instructor joined me was dumbfounded at how unprofessional the class was, instructor during the class and song, went to her purse and checked her phone them got some lip gloss out of her purse and went to the mirror and applied it...DURING THE SONG!!!!! She should be teaching instead of yelling out FREESTYLE and doing that. Expect nothing great for Zumba classes if you join. I have heard a few instructors complain about upper management (over aerobics) in class, so maybe the real problem lies there. Like I said there are a couple that are good, the rest...not so much. Find a gym that has consistent teachers who are trained well! Once my membership is up I will not be renewing here!

I read the reviews, even one guy claiming its filthy and afraid his gear got stolen!? What kind of idiots do react here i have no idea. But i do know, the properly did not read and paid attention when signing up with LA Fitness. The do try to sell you packs and what not, i mean DUH..THE TRY to make a living hello! That being said, me and my wife signed up yesterday and today we had our first day. Paul (senior manager) was really well trained, and very open minded and honest towards us. Nothing was FORCED upon us to sign up. My wife has back issues, so today we had a appointment (yes for free even) with trainer Jeremy. We were handled very kindly very professional and with courtesy. Of course we had the option to "hire" a program with trainer for additional fees. We declined, and we shook hands and of we go..we feel great! Were motivated, and that gym offers it ALL! And i do mean ALL...the bad reviews here? There just idiots, that have no idea how a gym of that size works in a commercial fashion yes given fact. Get over it, like Gold gym does not try to sell you there products *yawn* 5 stars all over, always ask for Paul, and he is happy to assist you ! As his entire team is.. Just walk in, and there no strings attached see for yourself how "bad" it really is. LA Fitness for me, period and no i am not connected to there club or a employee. I am a customer together with my wife.

The gym is average with not too old but not new equipment; nothing too nice, nothing too shabby. The basketball court is small because the boundaries is the wall so there is limited places to sit. The locker room is most deplorable, disgusting, and unkempt. It smells before you get to it! It has carpet flooring so the bacteria is festering all day long. The showers are usually filthy with leftovers from each member. The hot tub is usually nasty. The pool is ok but not heated. The basketballl court has even worse ventilation so it reeks too and the court bounces and the roof leaks. The price however is good for what it has to offer. They dont upgrade or remodel anything despite all the requests and the fact that the newer LA Fitness clubs have fixed these simple matters like tile bathrooms or ventilation in the basketball courts. If you get suckered into paying anymore than $30/ month multi-club no enrollment fee, then you payed too much. Unfortunately, there arent many other options with the range of features around Buford for the price and there are many locations so if you wanted to you can workout in other states or cities. This fact has saved them from tanking.

This gym does has a lot to offer, from racquetball courts, a basketball court, swimming pool, suana, and a great variety of machines, as well as free weights. They offer cycling classes, yoga, zumba, belly dancing, and a few other classes which is also nice. The issues I see are not with the staff; they constantly work to keep the facility clean and maintained, but just like anything that gets old, the wear and tear begins to show. The locker rooms smell horrible. You can smell them before you enter as another reviewer mentioned. The pool area looks really outdated, and there was an instance before where I couldnt keep my eyes open after swimming one day from the strong chemicals. Even after showering I still smell like chlorine and chemicals from the pool. Green mold or algae or something green is all around the pool area. The hot tub has its days and the suana works about 75% of the time for me personally. All in all there isnt anything special about this specific location for LA fitness. I would love to see the changes many customers are recommending. This facility could easily become a five (5) star accommodation with the proper changes.

I enjoy the equipment and pool at this gym which is all very nice. I have seen some of the algae around the pool which I was not happy about and think it could use some elbow grease and scrubbing throughout. It would be nice to see the staff working a little bit harder to keep the place tip top instead of just a couple cleaning people. Sometimes there are old paper towels left in the cup holders and stuff like that which could be easily remedied by a person walking around periodically, but is over looked. Also the weight machines could use a once over sometimes in case people arent wiping them off or not being thorough. I wouldnt say it is filthy there based on what I have experienced, but it isnt perfect. My main issue is with the mats leading up to the pool under the mats and the algae by the pool that I saw once. I havent noticed the shower being gross or the locker room really either. Overall I have had a good experience. I dont have any desire to use the basketball court though and I never go into the mens locker room so I cant say much about those areas. There is a lot of equipment at this location and the indoor pool is a big plus.

Ive been a member of LA Fitness for 4 years and this was my home location for a majority of that time. I moved to Duluth last year and use a different location, but I was in the area today and came here for convenience. Theyve redone the floors and overall appearance has improved. My complaint is the staff. The PTD (Kenny?) is very rude and unpleasant. He lacks the enthusiasm to be here, and doesnt speak to non-training members with respect. The front desk people are on their phones and not attentive to members coming in. They dont even smile or say the usual "have a good workout." They look reluctant to be here. The overall mood of the staff here is negative and I should have driven the extra few miles to Sugar Hill. The staff there is great and I recommend that location to this one. The Sugar Hill staff is energetic and always radiant. Im sad to say I dont think Ill be returning to this location. I started my fitness journey here but my disappointment has made it so I dont want to return. TL;DR The staff here sucks, Sugar Hill is better.
