TURN AND GO THE OTHER WAY!!! I must warn each person before you take your loved one to this establishment. Im a 37 year old doctor who values customer service. My aunt passed away last month and the immediate family asked if she could be taken to this funeral home. I handled the arrangements. I called the funeral home and requested that she be picked up from the hospital on Sunday 6am. She was not picked up until 27 hours later on Monday after 10 am. I established a time to come into the business to make final arrangements. Being a doctor, I understand how insurance claims work and had discussed with my family prior to coming that I would pay for the funeral out of pocket and be reimbursed after the claim had been filed. We all agreed. Once into the funeral home, a lady who introduced herself as the owner’s daughter (instead of a name) gave me an estimated cost. We were immediately shown a low budget plan. (Because she assumed there was no money) After I had decided on a different plan that would cost an estimated $7500, I was asked if I wanted to use the church next door because it was larger than her home church. I told them we were satisfied with the church she was a member at and expected to not talk further on that matter. She then proceeds to ask me who my hairstylist was because she dropped hers because she was a drug user. (Crickets chirping) Again, I was appalled because I was there to make arrangements for my aunt. After they asked for the insurance policy and I told them yes, there was a policy however, I would pay cash; they informed me that they would get the Reverend for me. (Was this standard or was it a gift because I was paying cash? Either way I could have done without the pleasure.) He came in and told me that he knew the pastor of her church and he wouldn’t mind if we did the services in his church due to it being larger and he wouldn’t charge me a dime. I opted out of the offer. After paying for the funeral, he gave me his personal phone number if I should have any problems. The day before our funeral, he called to inform me that another funeral home would be on staff the day of my loved one’s funeral to assist. The day of the funeral the family cars were late to the house and thus we arrived at the church 16 minutes behind time. He was present with some lady he introduced as his nurse who had the nerve to look like she was his personal body guard. I assume she was the other woman. She was fairly intimidated by all the women in my family (too funny because the man is dirt old).We made it through however. Today as I’m reading a medical update, I notice a cease order to this establishment effective on the day of my aunt’s funeral. They were ordered not to operate without a license; thus the reason why the other funeral home was present. They never gave me the courtesy of telling me the truth because they needed my money. I feel awful. I was tempted to call his “personal” number and ask him however I get the impression that wasn’t why he gave me his number. Stay clear of this sham!

If you can go somewhere else, then please do so. Laying your loved one to rest is stressful enough without the additional stress offered by this funeral home. #1: The people who work here are unprofessional. I was the person handling the arrangements, yet they rarely called me and consulted with me about details. In fact, the person handling the claim oftentimes acted as if she didnt have my personal information. #2: The people who work here are unprofessional. I was promised a specific reverend and singer; however, the reverend changed twice and the singer wasnt available. I didnt find out about the reverend until the day of the funeral (five minutes prior to the services) and the singer two days before. #3: The people who work here are unprofessional: The day of the service, the receptionist and the man behind her both acted as if they could not care less about what was going on. The person who was supposed to help with the service was stuck at another funeral, then in traffic, and then I never saw her, even though she did allegedly arrive. #4: The people who work here are unprofessional. The service was the second week in July. I just received the cremated remains the third week in September. Also, according to the post office, they were mailed incorrectly. They arrived in one of those white ten dollar US postal boxes. If you can avoid using this funeral home, then please save yourself additional stress and do so.

This has been the worse Funeral Home Raleigh Robbery. Use at your own risk. We paid for services that we did not receive. They wouldnt work any deal out when they found out the bank put a hold on our money. He was going to charge us a $1000.00 to use the church. They made us pay for all the funeral cars, most funeral homes give the family at least one car. They wrote the Obituary wrong. When we arrived at the church the front seat was so close to my fathers casket had to do was reach over and touch his face. They didnt give my father a flower. Its almost a month now and we havent received our death certificate. They gave us the wrong casket. Please beware this funeral home is getting over on people. They sent a van with no flowers to the house, they left my brother at the cemetery. Besides my father passing this was the worse day of my life. People came to view the body and they were disappointed with their customer service. They asked my manager if she really knew the family. They watched her the whole night.

During my uncles service, while his casket was being removed, I went to take a single flower from the top that was falling off. One of the staff members grabbed my hand quite hard, and attempted to remove the flower from my hand. Not only was this highly insensitive and foolish (because it could have escalated), but horribly poor judgement on his behalf. We paid for a service and was disrespected by one of the attendants. In the future, please consider a customer service and sensitivity training. I would never utilize your services again, nor recommend someone. Also, my uncle was transported from Detroit to Atlanta and he looked amazing when he left, but not so good when we saw him there.

I still suffer from memories of how they did my friend years ago. She was in a horrible accident that amputated her legs and arms. She was a very light skinned person, and when this funeral home got done with her, she was my complexion-brown skin, they put ruffles around to cover that she lost her arms and I saw newspaper under her bra, they did a horrible job. It took me many years to get my drivers license because of how they laid her to rest. The memories haunted me. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE.

This Funeral Home was very helpful very professional during my familys time of bereavement. They gave my father a great price for my brothers Arrangements. One of Raleigh Ruckers grandsons was the mortician in charge of my brothers remains; he did an exceptional job. The only and I mean the only downfall I can find and it is a small one is that the furniture in the Parlor is a little outdated but other than that I was very pleased with this Funeral Home
