I have been going to American Fitness Center for 18 months and love it. Ive lost 57 pounds of body fat working with owner and trainer Ricky Moore who is one of the most knowledgeable fitness instructors I have worked with. It is a nice gym convenient to my house. The gym is always clean and the staff is great. I noticed a negative review regarding AFC and everyone is entitled to their opinion and experience. But complaining about a gym to cold in the winter and to hot in the summer, is really not fair to this gym. As it seems by your complaint, it is more about you then the gym. 1. You said that the gym has an odor when people work out. (Guess what, it is a gym. Gyms have a sweaty odor when people are working out, you can go to any gym this size and experience the same thing) 2. The gym is either to hot or to cold (You are not the only person at the gym, the owner should not have to turn the heat or A/C up or down because of one person. The gym is always comfortable for me and others, because we come there to work out. If it is cold, we will warm up from our work out, if it is hot, we love it because we sweat more. Did I mention this is a gym?) 3. You are totally wrong and should be ashamed of yourself for saying, "This is the second black business you have tried to support" AFC is the best gym in fayetteville. I recognized your picture on your review, and if I am not mistaken the owner tried to help you and allowed you to try and sell your health salads in his gym. So why are you trying to bash this gym who tried to help you and your business? What should a girl do? Why dont you just go to another gym and stop posting BS reviews on a great establishment and attempting to tarnish a Black man who is helping to better the lives of all he comes in contact with, that includes myself. AFC is the best in the business!!

I liked going to this gym. Used to go 5 days a week, but then it got really cold, and after continuous requests to have the heat on and higher than 57 degrees, I just stopped going. When its 11 degrees outside at 0600 in the morning, the least you can do is have the heat at 68... Now for the hot weather, the gym is eternally hot and smells of body odor because the door is open so the air is off. When it feels nice outside, that is only applicable to outside. When you have an enclosed room with several people working out, body temperature tends to raise the temperature in the room. Combine that with sweat, and you have a rather unbearable experience. When the owner leaves the gym in the day time, rest assured the air is turned off. Hot and miserable are the only words I can use to describe this experience. I have asked for heat and air and all I get are excuses. Cant work out outside because its to hot, cant work out inside at the gym because its too hot and smelly. Really? This place is convenient to my home, and I have a family membership...Not sure what I am paying for but I will say, this is the second time I have supported a minority owned gym in my area, and both establishments operate the same way. Too cold in the winter time and too hot in the summer time. Whats a girl to do?

I love this place, great atmosphere, a wonderful place for the whole family. The 24/7 hours and free wi-fi is a bonus. And if you want a top notch Personal Trainer ask for Ricky he is the real deal.
