I have been torn for a while regarding whether or not I wanted to write this review, but I have decided to do it to warn other parents regarding what happened in May 2016. My son was at this daycare since he was about 8 months old until he was three, and then again at 4. I had issues the first time around, but nothing too too major. The biggest issues were the constant staff. As soon as my son got used to a teacher she would leave. There was miscommunication about diaper changes and times I picked him up and his pants were soaked. All of this was addressed by the owner and so on. Once he was three I made the decision to stay home with him. Shortly after he turned 4 I decided to bring him back to Discovery Point and I had planned on having him attend the prek program there. I really liked the teacher for the four age group, so I wanted him to attend there again, despite the previous issues we had. To my disappointment the teacher quit right before I enrolled him, but I figure since we were there I would go ahead and enroll him. The owner introduced me to the new teacher and right away she did not give off a friendly vibe. She didnt say more than hello to me before walking away. I assumed she must have been busy. I picked him up that day and the teacher did not give me any update regarding his day. Again I assumed she must have been busy. On the second day I decided to ask how he did she was very brief, so I asked her if he was good and she said "Yes and I hope it stays that way" This brushed me the wrong way, but I still brought him back for the third day. On the third day I walked in to pick him up during a fairly random time and saw all of the children in the back of the classroom sitting in a circle in complete silence. The teacher was in the middle and she was yelling at one of the children. And by yelling I mean a voice level as if she was yelling across an entire playground. Her tone was completely cold and she kept repeating to him that you do not do that. She didnt even hear me walk in, and didnt even notice me until I was right behind her and my son ran up to me. I reported this to the owner and was told that she was new, and after they spoke to her they said she was very sorry, but that child was very mean. I was shocked! She is an adult!! I explained to them that maybe they should do time outs instead and they informed me that they do not punish the children at all. So would that mean kids get away with whatever? This brought me back to right before I pulled my son out previously and I had completely forgotten bout this. An older child about 6 was throwing chairs in the cafeteria with all the toddlers there while yelling at the teachers. I stayed with my son until it was over and all they did was call his dad. No one even sent him home! On top of the yelling I also found out they never went outside during those three days even though it was nice outside (I was told by the owner the teacher was new and getting acclimated which I guess meant she could break regulations?), my son was not aloud to use the potty during nap time, and he told me he was yelled at as well. I asked for my money back and was denied. I asked for my money back for the 2 days he wouldnt be attending and was denied. After this experience my son cried when we toured another daycare because he was afraid of getting yelled at again. I reported this to corporate and they said they would contact the owner and ask her to call me to resolve this. She never did call.

Both of my kids attend. My youngest since she was 6 weeks old. They are well taken care of. I love the teachers. They are patient with my stubborn son and absolutely adore my daughter. The center is always clean. The staff is friendly and greets us every morning and afternoon. They are great at communicating concerns and issues with me. I am very pleased with this center.
