I dislike the customer service and practices... They use young, unmonitored teens to operate without an experienced adult worker present to oversee them. Also, when I had to contact an administrator due to a tablet stolen out of my grandsons bookbag. I was told by an administrator that a tablet matching that description was turned in and she would call me back the next day (Friday). Never received that call.... My husband went inside the building to inquire about it Monday AM and was told to wait..he waited a long while but had to leave for work. I went in Monday evening and was told to wait, eventually the non calling administrator came out and advised me the tablet was turned over to another individual...??? Simply based on them saying they lost a tablet...when we reported ours stolen??? So.. Our stolen tablet was apparently lost by the thief turned in and given back to the thief??? Never were we contacted about the device before it was given back to this person... It was very easy to determine ownership by the very detailed description we gave of our device and by simply turning on the device to see our accounts & pictures!!!! By now the thief has probably wiped our data off but we still have the serial number as proof.... Sad when administration is a part of the problem!! Thankfully this is the last week of summer camp...if we ever return or not will be determined by what happens by the end of this week... Next step... the police will be called!! So unnecessary!! Also, I cannot find email contact information for the administration and calling is clearly ineffective. Waiting on a return call from 2 administrators...the original one who I will name soon and the person over them as of this morning!! I like written communication when it gets to this level...

I have had nothing but good experiences with the Y staff over the past several years that I have been dealing with them. They have always been courteous, friendly and helpful to me. I have no experience with the kids programs myself but the kids I have seen there in camp programs, etc. always seem to be well supervised, happy, and well behaved. This is a great facility in terms of its space, equipment, pool, sauna, whirlpool, locker/shower/dressing rooms, etc. It is kept terrifically clean - big kudos to the janitorial and maintenance staff people who do such a great job. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because my experience with some of the adult classes taught here has caused me to feel that the quality of instruction is not the greatest, though its adequate. I also did have something stolen from the pool area, which I have to believe was done after hours by a staff member. However, I cant complain too much since I left behind a bank money envelope in a public area of the pool at closing time. If you do that anywhere you should expect the cash in it to disappear, which it did. The staff members I talked with about it were helpful and apologetic, and I readily admit that it was mostly my own dumb fault. That said, if I had found that envelope I would have turned it in to lost and found and not taken the money, and I do not think it is unreasonable to expect that level of honesty from others.

For quality assurance, monitoring and training purposes I rate a 5 Star to the YMCA and for a few of the staff. To begin, keep doing what you do helping some children and teens from roaming the streets, while parents are at work or out of work. This center relieves stress and we all know stress kills. Customer Service is a plus. If your a adult with Customer Service Skills, its each one teach one to the person behind the counter. Rather he or she is young or mature. Ive come across some poor customer service within the center and shut it down by educating and navigating the proper respondent to fix it. Ive returned this year and so far, so good. Management I hope you read these reviews because it can seriously hold a negative hardship on you. So when you go to work, do your work. In the mean time keep moving and improving

This ymca is one of the newer locations but unfortunately its one of the worst locations. I will explain exactly why. 1. My family used to frequent the ceramics class every Wednesday. After about 2 months the class was canceled permanently due to lack of participation. 2. There is a high rate of stealing here. Even if you put a lock on your locker it will not deter thieves. 3. There are lots of rules enforced here that do not make the facility better. For example the aquatics director told me that my swimsuit was not appropriate for the pool area due to cleavage exposed. This location dosent have that family inviting vibe that I find at other locations. This is my opinion based off of my experience.

I had an aweful experience here. My 6 yr old played outdoor recreational soccer. It was always unorganized and the staff didnt seem to care. They never responded to the parents concerns. 1. It took about 4 weeks before we were provided with a coach. 2. Once we were assigned a coach there were times when he didnt show up to practice, late to practice, or had to leave early. The staff that oversaw practices never made the effort to fill in that void. 3. We didnt have a referee for the games, and they hardly ever started on time, there were times we didnt have a coach, they never had make up games for games canceled due to bad weather

We were going to renew are memberships when we came here and we had a guest pass. Then there was a lady at the front desk named Ava .She was being very disrespectful and said that we can not come in at all because of we had a guest pass. But then they gave us mean looks being racist and rude. I think this place is really unfair and mean so u should not come!!!!!I wish they can here me because this what they deserve .I went to the Decatur YMCA and they said that they are very wrong so please be alert.

Awesome fun environment for the entire family and they truly help families or individuals who need financial assistance to use the facilities!☺ I love going with my family because its a good healthy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and you feel so welcomed. My children love going and I love them to because I know the YMCA is a positive place where they are safe! All in all we are becoming healthier and stronger as a family together! We Thank You Wade Walker YMCA!

So we came to this YMCA today with our renewed guest passes and they refused to let us in. We have come with our guest passes before but today they just refused. Especially the employee named AVA. She had no respect what so ever and it made my family and I feel very uncomfortable. She was rude and disrespectful and we will never ever ever attend this YMCA again.

This YMCA is perfect for everyone. Programs and staff are set for toddlers and up. It has everything you could ask for to help you reach your next level of fitness. The staff and members are wonderful. If you come here youll feel a deeper sense of the community and also feel a part of a family that you look forward to seeing and working hard with everyday.
