I have never had the urge to write a review for anything, ever... until I came to this gym and met KIMBERLY THOMPSON. Mind you I only joined this gym a week ago, have only been in 3 times and it seems she had it out for me and my friend from the get go. She is UNBELIEVABLY rude, disrespectful, and verbally abusive. We were approached on our first visit to the gym when she told us that we were not allowed to guide one another in our workouts... I thought she was kidding at first...then she got rude and when we walked away she proceeded to watch us around the gym. The third visit to the gym we were approached again and told, very aggressively, to leave the premises or she would have our memberships revoked not only for that particular LA Fitness but all LA Fitness gyms. When I asked to speak with another manager she said I wasnt allowed. I cannot express my agitation, feeling of disrespect and overall disappointment in her lack of professionalism, management skills and overall demeanor. She needs to be fired ASAP. By the looks of the other reviews it seems Im not the only one who feels this way...

Great until you want to end your membership and you have set up an automatic payment. You must go online, print out a form and send it certified mail to their corporate headquarters. Good luck disputing anything if you lose the mail information. I sent in the canclation notice and the deductions stopped for a month or two then out of nowhere I was being charged again. I disputed it with my bank but since I was unable to produce the mail certificate of when I sent the cancelation notice they could do nothing. I then tried to just cancel the card that I used. the deductions stopped for a month and then they started coming again. I told the bank about this and they said it was normal if you have a reoccuring charge??!!. So I said hell with this and changed banks. I got about 3 or 4 emails from LA fitness telling me there were issues with my account, which I replied with a F-you. I kept my old account open with $5.00 still in it in case I ever needed to use it. I just checked my status and LA fitness hit me with a $5.00 charge. I guess they get the last laugh eh?

Overall, their equipment is good. Facilities are good. Staff seems friendly. But they are extremely salesy, and each time you talk to them, they are out to sell you something. I needed a personal trainer. They told me that I would need to sign a 1 year contract for a trainer. When I rejected that offer, they came back to me with a 3-month package. Certified trainer $55/session and Certified Master trainer $65/session. Training content is same. Whats different is how these guys look. Certified trainer looks athletic. The Master trainer looks huge with a Schwarznegger type body. So you basically pay that difference for the look of the trainer. Another weird thing was : I once had a question about one of the equipments. They refused to help, saying they could do that only if I had a trainer. I opted out of my membership as I was still within the trial period. Joined Atlanta Fitness and am loving it !

Wrote a great review before, but have to urge LA Fitness to amp up the cleaning frequency. Its being talked about that the facility has become dirtier in the last few months. The shower floors and walls especially need to be scrubbed more thoroughly. The chlorine in the pool and hot tub are particularly potent, resulting in red, raw eyes, and some repairs are needed: clock in ladys locker room has been broken for weeks, tv has been broken for a week, toilet paper in ladys bathrm was out for all stalls at 11am on Sat, 2/18/2012. Most unfortunate was the cold shower at 11:30am on Sat, 2/18/2012. Me and another gal showering kept hoping the water would warm up, but 20 minutes later still ice cold. Let me just say, some knees were knocking.... Thank you for replacing the unreadable panel in the ladys sauna. PLEASE do make the necessary repairs and cleaning. The gym would be so much better!

Our 1st day working out and we were confronted and rudely disrespected by a trainer by the name of KIMBERLY THOMPSON. To keep it short we were working out in the training area which at the time was unoccupied after the last trainer left (open to the members). We started working out for 5 minutes where she was watching us and rudely told us to move and when we did move she then proceeded to antagonize the situation by telling us to move again which she was clearly doing just to irritate us and try to prove a point. She then started yelling to have our memberships revoked when we went in search for the general manager to tell him about our rude encounter. We are shocked as to how someone with that sort of attitude and lack of social skills is employed in a facility that strives for "high quality" service. She definitely does not represent any sort of those traits.

WILL NOT BE COMING BACK! REASON = KIMBERLY THOMPSON (the rudest, uncivilized, and ill-mannered individual/trainer Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting). Im grateful that the general manager had the decency to apologize to us for her actions, but the fact the she was deliberately disrespectful when asking us to move and tried to lie that she asked politely. Obviously when two people agree that you were being rude, it means you were. And the fact that she was yelling to have my membership revoke, because I was standing up for myself due to her insolent behavior. I dont know how someone with that kind of stature and vulgar attitude is part of a company that strives for "above and beyond." The way she handled herself, she obviously does not posses any refine qualities. **Mind you this was literally our 1st day joining, talk about first impressions.**

My boyfriend has had a membership here for a couple of years now. He brought me tonight for the first time with a free guest pass he received. When my boyfriend showed the front desk attendant the guest pass, he said we still could not enter until we spoke to their ONE sales consultant. This made absolutely no sense, but we decided to wait 15 minutes until the sales consultant got off of a phone call to assist us. When he finished his phone call, he refused to accept the guest pass until my boyfriend gave him his license. I dont know who brings all of that into a gym, especially when all of that is already entered into their system. He also said that it would take another 20 minutes to go through the process of accepting the guest pass. How ridiculous! A 2.6 rating on Google definitely describes this place.

Customer service = 0... I left my daughter in the kid area and when I went in to get her she was crying in a newborn swing... she is 13 months old and 85% in height so she is tall. Her feet were dragging on the ground. I never got our fitness consultation as promised. My first time at the gym, the lady at the front desk pointed everything out (cardio equipment, weignt machines, etc) from where she was standing at the desk. I can SEE THAT. Where is the locker room, sauna, fitness class schedule??!? Were canceling and going to LifeTime... this place sucks!
