We lost our precious son suddenly on Nov. 30, 2013, one day short of his 25th birthday. We were broken & could barely function. We knew Lakeside was very close to our home & at first we hesitated, concerned about how we would feel passing by each time we left our home. My husband called another funeral home in the area then finally decided to make the call to Lakeside. After speaking with Kyle my husband knew we needed to make Lakeside our first visit. Kyle greeted us warmly, there was an instant connection, as Kyle continued to speak to us all of our hesitations of being too close to our home were erased from our minds. The loving kindness that we were shown by Kyle, his family and staff was truly exceptional, genuine and sincere. Paul took great care to guide us through all the steps and explained to us clearly what our options were, at NO time did we ever feel like we were being pressured, amazingly just the opposite. My husband and I were very much on the same page of what our desires were so everything went very smoothly. Another major consideration for us was we had decided that we wanted to have our son cremated,.and Lakeside also offers this service. We felt very strongly that our son had been through enough and we did not want his body transported to an outside facility to have this done. Kyle assured us that the utmost respect would be given to our son during the entire process. This has been the most difficult time in our life and we truly feel blessed that we made the choice to use Lakeside Funeral Home. The compassion they showed our son and our entire family and friends is truly a ministry. We can not thank them enough!! Warmly, Eric & Mary Conrad Woodstock, GA 30188

This is not a corporate funeral home, it is a locally owned and operated home, and that is what you want. I have a big family, and go to the majority of funerals of people I know, so Ive been to more than my fair share of funerals throughout my life. Also my father is in the ministry, and we went to church with the two biggest family funeral operators in my home town, they are the ones who insisted we go to a family owned facility. Kyle and his family are natives to the local area, and they know how to treat folks like family. They made me feel like I was back in my home town, working with folks I go to church with....they are born and bread down home Georgia just plain good folks....very hard to find nowadays within the metro area. Kyle and his staff went above and beyond any reasonable expectations, and treated us like family during such a trying time. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and professional in guiding us through the planning process. The Lakeside facility is brand new, has multiple visitation rooms, chapel and crematorium onsite. The place is beautiful inside and out, and the grounds well groomed, with a lake out back. Even though it is new, the staff is very experienced and professional. A fine facility with finer people, I dont know what more to say, its more than one would expect, I felt like a stranger walking into open arms. I would recommend Lakeside Funeral Home to anyone.

My mom passed unexpectedly on New Years Eve 2011. Our family was devastated to say the least. My brothers and I rallied together to take on what was the hardest task we have ever been given. To bury a parent is so very hard especially with such small grandchildren involved. We didnt know where to start. After entering Lakeside Funeral home I have to say I knew in my heart it was the right place. We were greeted so graciously by Kyle and walked through the entire process so delicately from beginning to end by the entire staff and family. With the help of Paul the funeral director we were able to create a beautiful celebration of my moms life including picture displays, DVD, and keepsakes in the most comfortable setting. We had everything you could hope for. They even helped us stay within our budget and went over and beyond any of our expectations. I know its their job...but they didnt make us feel like it. When all was said and done we felt like lakeside was a part of our family and we made some wonderful memories together. I would highly recommend them as the only place to share the celebration of ones life. Thank you with all our hearts. I know our Mom is proud. With love and much appreciation, Dennis, Denise, Dustin and our families.

Its hard to imagine writing a review on a funeral home, which is probably why I waited almost 11 months to do so. I was reminded today, why I wanted to write one for Lakeside Funeral Home when I went to speak to Kyle about my daughters ashes. As soon as I walked in the door, as when I did 11 months ago for the first time in my life, I was greeted with the utmost respect, warmth...and yes love. When we had to make decisions last September for Caitlyns arrangements, we knew nothing of planning a funeral. Sure we had attended funerals for friends and parents, however never for our own child. The care, genuine concern and compassion from Kyle, Gary, Wilma and Paul were unprecedented throughout the whole ordeal. Our family and friends were shown the same compassionate and caring attitude. There was nothing they were not willing to do on our behalf to make sure we were comfortable. We were nurtured through the whole process from start to finish. They brought the utmost dignity to my daughter as we laid her to rest and they guided us with grace through the greatest trial of our lives. I told Kyle today that Lakeside Funeral Home was the best experience I could have ever hoped for during the worst experience of my life.

I recently had to travel to Georgia because my father was very sick & dying from cancer. After many days of being by his side & saying good-bye, it was time to give him the most honorable tribute we could imagine. My dad was a Vietnam Vet, a Mason, a Shriner, an amazing father & so much more. Everyone at Lakeside Funeral Home was extremely helpful, respectful, compassionate, & the location was stunning. They made a very difficult process much less strenuous & gave us the comfort in knowing that every detail was being taken care of in a most caring, beautiful way. I cant think of a better way to honor their hard work other than to share my experience on here with whomever might read this. For anyone else going through a similar experience, I am so very sorry for your loss. Its never an easy time. But I hope that Kyle, Gary & the entire staff at Lakeside can assist you during your final good-byes the way they helped me. Thank you to the entire staff from me & my whole family. You helped us lay my fathers physical body to rest & release his soul so that it may live on forever. All my love, Shannon Elizabeth Fadal

Its almost unfathomable to be writing this, but I laid my son to rest this past week. I pray none of you will need Kyle Standridge at Lakesides Funeral Homes services, but if you are reading this, you probably do. Kyle and Lakeside have become part of my family now. This process is never easy, but for lack of any better words, the team at Lakeside made a horrific and traumatic event not just bearable, but pleasant. I never once felt pressured to make any decisions nor encouraged to spend money for business sake. I honestly feel like they are a new part of my family. I cant possibly say enough about the care and compassion, the effort they went through to ensure my sons funeral was dignified, respectable. They made us as comfortable and at ease as possible. My son was actively in the Georgia National Guard, and the extra effort to ensure the burial went off with military honors and dignity was just amazing. If your reading this, Im sorry for your loss.
