I have been a member for almost eight years and I have never complained about anything, even that I saw a lot of things that could have done better. I was told when I joined (2008) that I was grandfathered into my membership rate because I was joining as the location was opening. This meant "they will never raise my membership". When I tried to leave back on 2011, I was told the same thing, that if I leave at that time, I would lose the "grandfathered" benefits of my membership, so I stayed. On September 2015, my membership got raised. I have attempted to deal with the GM (Ben Dubin), but he is more into numbers than customer service or even doing the right thing for a customer of 8 years, as he is a sells man, who wont honor what was promised 8 years ago. He keeps telling me that the increase of my rate is due to the value they offer, that I need to appreciate the perks of my membership and my benefits such as "One guest pass a month" but then every time I have tried to use a guess pass during 2014 and 2015, I have been asked to pay $20.00 per day, per guest and if I dare to insist that they should be free, I got treated like I am trying to steal something from them. I am very disappointed on this new management and the way the club is operating. The "Luxury" that many people talk about is non-existing these days, the towels have holes and sometimes blood stains on them, the showers and sauna have mildew, and some weight equipment is non-functional for weeks, sometimes it does not get fixed until is really broken. The Group fitness classes are so full that you can not really do the routines and you have to leave the classes, and during the summer the pool restrooms are always very dirty and with trash all over. They have a hard working cleaning crew, but not enough people to keep up with their mess. If you join this facility, be aware that they dont stand behind what they promised verbally or what is written in the system from previous management, if it is not in your contract, you are not getting what they told you. Like people said before, it is all about the "SALE" in this facility and I personally feel taken advantage of and like they may have engaged in misleading sales practices with me, this is why I am leaving the gym after 8 years. In addition, if you are unhappy, do not try to file a complaint with Corporate, they wont reply back, and the GM will keep trying to convince you that you are losing so much by leaving to try to make you forget why are you leaving in the first place. This new Manager does not care about his customers, and it looks to me that he mainly cares about achieving the sales goals at the end of the month. If you join, be ready to get increases, lack of commitment and tons of sweet talk. For what is me, I will never do business with this company again.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I always recommend people to LT but I warn them-youll never go back to another gym. You will be spoiled. They provide you with towels at your disposal, locks for your giant locker that pin onto your shirt, saunas, steam rooms, a full cafe, a full spa, a huge rock wall, big basket ball courts, squash courts, AWESOME yoga in their yoga studio (with option of free classes every day or a paid yoga membership with bigger schedule), pilates (that costs extra like yoga), lots of group fitness classes at all hours of the day, great service, and they arent pushy in the slightest. This place is beautiful and has everything you need, including plenty of showers. Great for families due to their child care center. Free child care while you work out and many activities/camps throughout the year. Yes, it is very clean and well-kept. Two full size swimming pools (one inside and one outside), huge hot tubs, and a cafe outside during the summer. There is also a giant slide for the pool outside and the pool has a beach entrance to ease you into the water. LT is a luxury resort basically :) You will leave feeling refreshed. I come 5 days a week and shower here, eat here, get spa services here, and use the steam room. You can do it all here. For a single person, it is about $62 a month, which I believe is fair because you can really get your moneys worth here. If you only go to the gym twice a month, its probably not worth the price. If you just want to relax and swim, sit in the sauna, drop your kids off and have some down time, get a hair cut and a massage, you could do that too. LA fitness and Golds gym does not do half of what LT does. Perfect for body builders, fitness competitors, cardio lovers, swimmers, and beginners. LT is stocked with a lot of cardio equipment, weight machines, and free weights. Other gyms do not have the variety of machines and equipment that LT does which is a huge reason to come here. Even if you dont care about being pampered and all the fluff, the variety of equipment is a big seller. There is something for everyone here and I do not feel intimidated here; all kinds of people come here and most people have not been going to the gym for years. I enjoy the atmosphere here and nearly everyone I meet in the classes and the instructors are very friendly and inviting. The only thing I have had a bad experience with was the spa-be careful with your money there. Some new employees may not know prices of products and services, so make sure you know how much everything costs before you pay for it. Either way, it would take a hurricane to keep me out of LT. I highly recommend it!

I was being charged for swim lessons that I have called to cancel in January. Lifetime continued to charge my account I called and spoke to several people regarding this issue, even one employee showed me in my account where it was noted to cancel in January. When it finally was cancelled in March I was not granted a refund for the months where I did not use the service which I had not actually used since November. December I was contacted about Missing the swim lessons and informed the employee i will no longer continue & wish to cancel. I was under the impression that the swim lessons were cancelled, yet lifetime continued to charge my account & as stated previously did not grant issue or recommend a refund, credit or anything which in result led to this. I am extremely displeased with the handling of my issue & feel I was no actually ripped off. I like the facility but do not appreciate how this company handles its customers and since I am here venting I signed up for a membership on September 30, 2015 paid membership fee and monthly dues only to be charged for monthly dues for the month of October 2015 and one day after signing up when I called in to inquire why or even how I could be charged for October was given the run around yet again. In summary if you want Lifetime Fitness to rip off your hard earned money feel free to join because Lifetime Fitness most definitely will & politely. Which is unfortunate because I was impressed with the facility but now in hindsight I see this company as a wolf in well dressed sheep clothing cash mongers. That when you request a well validated refund Lifetime Fitness will ignore it with a smile just like Amy Cone did when discussing the aforementioned topic above.
