Disclaimer this review was from January but this place is amazing and I think this story deserves to be shared! -- This place is AMAZING. Why amazing you ask? Well I just ordered delivery to cheer me up as I recover from surgery. No big deal right? Right...well unless you live on the 20th floor and you realize your elevators are out when the delivery arrives. ABSOLUTELY crazy. The moment they called to let me know my food was here they told the delivery guy the elevators were out. Once I was done yelling at the people downstairs for not letting me know I was just going to pay them and let them take the food back. I love this place so I felt horrible. All of a sudden the drivers (who I am so sorry I dont remember your name I was so frazzled and mad at my building) wife Andrea comes trekking up 20 flights of stairs to bring me food because I was recovering. Wow this was an amazing experience. The owner who I had called to sort things out said he appreciated my business and they didnt mind. I cant even believe it. I greeted Andrea at the door with some water and a good tip. I honestly didnt know awesome people like this still existed in life. I wish I could do more for her and her husband. They are awesome people and Mangia Fresca is such a caring restaurant. I pick food up here all the time. I will absolutely continue to do so much more frequently! You cannot beat this kind of service and people. I am still stunned this all happened. Oh and my food is awesome too :) Just like ALWAYS!! You cannot beat the portions, flavors and freshness!! I could eat their breaded steak and caprese salad every day but then I would actually need to start doing the 20 flights of stairs!

I live in the Bridgeport area. 37th Lituanica. I tried this place for the second time. I figured I would give them anouther shot. I went with 3 girlfriends after work. We ordered a breaded steak, it was 95% breading. We had rigitoni with red sauce. The sauce tastes like it came right out of a can. No seasonings of any type. The Margarita pizza my friend ordered came out burned with black crust. When we asked about the pizza, the very rude owner said " thats da way day come out" What? and looked at me and smiled, then walked away. When I went and asked for a box for the left overs. I heard the owner say to the very nice gal who works the register...."Oh now they want to take food home? I thought it was burned?" so so rude and sub par food.

Ordered for the first time yesterday. Order total was 36.47. Fried ravioli arrived burnt with marinara sauce covering everything. Fried Mozz arrived soggy and soaked in sauce. Cheeseburgers arrived without cheese and were not "medium rare". They were dry and burnt throughout. Tasted like day-old dry food. (I added photos). Garlic bread was stale and had barely any butter OR garlic flavor. After contacting the restaurant the owner said he would approve a refund if I called Grubhub. When I called Grubhub the representative called the manager and at that point he only agreed to a 50% refund. He misinformed me and was clearly just trying to avoid making up for his business mistake. That is bad business.

I tried this restaurant twice now it its quite a special place, perhaps not the best managed place but still very tasty. I have tried their brick oven pizza and its very good the wood gives the bread, cheese, meats a different flavor. I have also not had 2 of their double cheeseburgers with everything and they are delicious. They use fresh beef, with onion, lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup, mayo; the meat is cooked medium well super juicy...so the ingredients atop the burger including the cheese mix and blend in together with the beef drippings making it a damn good burger. I recommend this place. Next I will try the steak sandwich.

A simple Italian restaurant that offers a good assortment of pastas, brick-over pizzas, salads, paninis, sandwiches, and even breakfast! We decided to stop by for dinner and ordered the lasagna, margherita pizza, and soups (chicken rice with lemon and a ravioli soup). Even though I was expecting the lasagna to have meat, it was still very good and filling. It would be great if an option with meat was offered. The margherita pizza was delicious with a slightly-burnt and toasty crust. The soups were a bit on the salty side. Overall, it was a satisfying dinner and I would visit again, maybe build my own pasta.

This is a go-to lunch spot for me and my coworkers. Counter-service Italian fast-ish food that fills you up and tastes great. I usually go for the panini caprese which is crispy, buttery and cheesy! The tortellini soup is also great, though a bit salty. They make giant Rice Krispy treats and other pastries, too, that tempt you from behind their glass display case. They also have pizza, pasta and salads among many other options. A great little place tucked just under the Halsted orange line stop!

I ordered the Mangia Chicken sandwich and the Arrancini for lunch one day. The sandwich was a big piece of bread with a tiny and thin piece of unseasoned chicken, a tomato, and a leaf of lettuce. The sandwich was about 75% bread. The staff seemed pretty nice and the Arrancini was pretty good; otherwise I would have given one star. Just save yourself the mediocrity and go to Linas or Phils instead.

I had the chicken parmesan here and it was awesome and big enough for leftovers the next day...I also had the beef barley soup which was excellent and they had a nice variety of soups to chose from. I will definitely go back to try more items on the menu like the brick oven pizza and their vodka sauce.

Delicious large portions at a great price. The wood oven pizza is on par with the more trendy restaurants at a fraction of the price. Weve also ordered from their catering menu and the food was well prepared and packaged and ready on time. Dont forget to try their canolis.

Order to go, asked for a fork, said it was in the bag and now Im forkless with some ok looking and delicious smelling food! Update: bowtie pesto was chewy and had no flavor, fried ravioli was $6 for 4 and they were also chewy. I will not be eating here ever again

Paul (Owner) has made it right, by assuring me the mistakes and items that were not in the past 2/3 deliveries will not happen again. Mangia delivered a new very hot baked mostaccioli WITH meatballs! Thank you Paul for all your help in correcting the issue.
