If you are shopping around for fitness options, be very cautious with Health Bridge. Its a great looking place, but their cons can outweigh theyre pros. First off, if you cancel, theyll try to CONvince you with high pressure sales and fast talking to do a 4 month hold period in which theyll immediately charge your credit card and resume membership. If you changed credit cards since than, they clip you with a fee. They refuse to sign a cancel form until your balance is $0.00. I tried to resolve this matter with Toni and Bonnie, no use. If you are considering them because of their indoor track, consider the quality of the track as well as busy times with your schedule. Its no fun using a track when you have a bunch of other people going at different speeds. In addition, the track historically hasnt been in great shape or level. Also consider their membership costs. Even if you are getting a corporate deal, there are a lot of other options out there that charge way less and may be open 24hours, etc. The locker rooms at Health Bridge are usually packed and not really roomy to use. You tend to have to shuffle stuff around to accommodate other people. Good luck with your search. Anyone can provide treadmills and weights, not everyone can provide a service that makes you feel that you spent your $ wisely. Health Bridge did not do that for me.

My husband and I joined this club during the middle of summer. We had every intention of teaching our son swimming lessons to avoid the dirty Dolphin Swim Club. I also LOVE to swim for a total body workout. We signed up for the premier package to utilize free child care for our kids when we work out. The child care center was JAM PACKED with summer camp kids and frankly scared the bageezus out of my 1 year old. No effort was made to calm my daughter, they didnt even open the infant room for her and the other scared kiddos. Instead, they came to get me mid work out. This happened EVERY time I went there until I called the daycare manager. I also had to base my schedule on the clubs summer swim lessons. It feels as if squeezing every last dollar out of members is more important than providing an overall good experience. The family changing room has mold and mildew in it, I have mentioned this to two managers now. It has been months and no efforts have been made to rectify this. I dont feel paying a giant fee to use a bad facility is fair. I feel the situation gets more agitated in the summer when absolutely no attention is paid to the members but focused on the summer camp crazies and swim lessons.

They have their pros and cons. Right now they are in the middle of redoing their track. So, week #1 was loud obnoxious construction noise. Week #2 was more of the same plus construction dust. Today was "curing" or stripe painting. The chemical stench and fumes were very bad. I got a headache after 10 minutes of exposure to it. I couldnt exercise under these conditions. Employees wore masks so they could breathe. Rather than shut the place down they expected me to use the facility in these unacceptable conditions. I asked for a partial months refund and got nadda. Im looking for a place that respects their customers and employees. This is not it. 4/4/2012 - After I quit Healthbridge I went to Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin. Its a world of difference. Lifetime has much, much more equipment than Healthbridge. The dieticians and trainers there are very very helpful. I couldnt get anywhere near this level of service at Healthbridge. If youre serious about getting health results and working out Lifetime is the ticket. These "small fry" places like Healthbridge dont have what the big facilities have.

i was in their swim exercise class and enjoyed it very much. my problem came with the intense smell of chlorine. it made my chest congested, the fumes made my eyes red and weep and burn like crazy and i never put my head in the water, it was just the fumes. i got a skin rash on my neck and chest. and i got a bladder infection. after explaining all this to my doctor she said all of this was most probably from their leisure pool where the class was held. i only went to 4 classes and couldnt stand it anymore. nor could i stand the nasty looking - brown smudges? - on their water noodles. my doctor gave me a written letter to cancel the membership. as i have read much now about swimming pools and chemicals ive come to understand that the intense chlorine smell comes from the mingling of chemicals and urine, sweat and feces. a healthy pool does not smell this way. it would take several washing to get the chlorine smell out of my swim suit and i can honestly say ive never experienced the intense chlorine smell in other public/resort pools that ive been in. its an old facility and very unhealthy.

I have gone back 3 times after ending my membership because of unclean pool and lock rooms at both clubs. I have gotten several skin problems from the pools. Ive seen a significant small pool of blood on the shower room floor — it was there for at least more than an hour. I have seen things on the walls and floors that made me feel ill. Customer service is rude and unconcerned, almost across the entire staff. First contact staff people, at the desk at both clubs provide incorrect info or have no idea how to answer a question or refer a customer to the proper person for an answer. They look blankly at you and go back to talking with friends at the desk. This happens often, its not an anomaly. Im done this time when my membership ends—IF I remember to give THEM 30 days notice that the contract is up, and IF they allow me to actually end it. This is one of the most poorly organized businesses in the county. Please God let someone buy this organization and make the customers the focus. Im quite sure Centegra management never reads these reviews and wouldnt care anyway.

Just got information from membership department that when I joined and became a member that I CANNOT CANCEL my membership at any time until my anniversary date has been reached. Just Imagine paying for 4 memberships (family of four) every month ( even if you are not actively using the facility) yet they will only offer holding your monthly fees for a maximum of 4 months ( fees may apply) but then they will EXTEND your anniversary date by another 4 months and still pay your monthly membership dues.Nowhere can you find this on their website no matter how hard you look. This is NOT one of those "you can cancel any time" if you are not satisfied.SO IF YOU ARE NOT SURE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO USE YOUR MEMBERSHIP, REMEMBER DO NOT EVEN JOIN....but find out if they might have monthly membership agreements? Next option : complain to better business bureau ? BBA

Some one needs a hug. The childish rampage of the comments on this page simply say to me that someone is lonely, sad, hurting and I send that person a hug and kindness. This is a quality place to work out, with options for everyone, of all ages. Classes, equipment, pools, people, hours. This is a great place to belong and honor your body. One thing I would love to see is a powerful, deep water running and aerobics class. I have not found that. The 2 classes I went to were far to low key. I also would love the option of restorative Yoga (perfect after hard workout) Also would love true Bikram, or Hatha yoga practiced here. My experience is that the classes are partial yoga classes, or adapted. Blessings for a beautiful day.
