Take it from a Child Development Specialist, not only will Young at Heart provide your child with excellent care, but also foster your childs cognitive, physical and social-emotional development! As a Child Development Specialist I have had the opportunity to work with many child care centers around the Chicagoland region to support young children with different development delays and needs for over 20 years now. During that time I have provided training and support for teachers and directors of childcare centers on how to foster childrens development and how to support children with developmental needs. In all of these years, this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review for a child care center. The teachers at Young at Heart are very intuitive about what each individual child needs in their classrooms and as a result are able to provide experiences and a curriculum that plays to your childs individual strengths and helps foster growth in your childs particular areas of need. They are caring, compassionate and collaborative. The teachers and the directors worked with me to help support a child in their care and genuinely wanted to ensure that they were doing everything possible to ensure the childs success. The experience and expertise that the teachers bring to the classroom have been crucial to the growth and success of the particular child I was there to support. The compassion and understanding in which the 2 year old classroom teachers approached the child I was supporting, helped the childs self-esteem blossom and was crucial in laying the foundation for developing the childs confidence, curiosity and ability to learn. The ability of the 3 year old classroom teacher to recognize the childs individual needs, make minor adaptations and yet maintain a high level of expectation of this child, fostered this childs independence, language, physical and cognitive development. I am simply blown away by the skill level of these teachers. So if you are looking for a high quality childcare setting who will not only provide excellent childcare for your child but also help your childs development soar, then Young at Heart is the only choice.

Wonderful family centered preschool and day care center! I usually never write reviews either, but this facility deserves so many kudos. My coworker recommended this place as both her daughters were enrolled. We were hoping to find a more warm and nurturing environment for our son. Every interaction with the staff since the first phone call was so friendly and caring. We did not have the best experience at his prior preschool and I was worried how he would adapt to a new place. It was the best decision I have ever made. The facility is clean and organized and calm. The class size is small and intimate and the staff to child ratio is awesome. My son loves his school and we have felt so welcome and comfortable there since day one. Everyone knows our family and the staff are just so nice and happy with the kids. I recommend this facility to everyone in the community. They have creative activities and projects for the kids, special holiday events, and they always keep the parents well informed. One of the best parts was that our son felt so comfortable and calm he successfully potty trained in the first few months he was there. They were SO supportive of and flexible with the training....it had really been a stressful experience for him at his prior school. Our son is simply thriving at Young at Heart preschool. My daughter will be attending soon :)

Weve been taking our son to Young At Heart (part time) for just over a year now, and have nothing but great things to say about our experience there. Unlike other daycare centers we initially researched, Y@H features a small-scale atmosphere, but still manages to maintain a high level of activity and excellent curriculum for our son. Daily activities, arts & crafts, playtime and other social events are planned with care and wield a nice variety. The staff are extremity friendly and go out of their way to make the children feel right at home; always greet us with a smile and warm "good morning!" (even teachers and assistants we do not deal with on a daily basis). Theres also the added benefit of (occasional) integrated events with the seniors who reside above in Libertyville Manor; which we feel gives Y@H a unique and distinct advantage over other daycare centers.... a perspective we wanted our son to be able to experience. Being that we are there part-time, Y@H has also has been very flexible with switching days if necessary (even on short notice), which is something we very much appreciate. I highly recommend Young At Heart to any parents looking for a small, well-rounded and unique (and reasonably priced!) day care center for their little one(s).

My daughter started when she was 1 year old and she loved it! The activities, sings, and read books. She learned a lot of songs from day care. All classes were clean, kids restroom, locker, table and carpet. The teacher energetic. They reacted really fast when the flood came, they cleaned, sanitized and redo some classes. The day care was close to my previous company. Unfortunately, my daughter has to move because of we got a new job far from this location. She still remember the teachers name and her friend at Young at Heart. Great experience, recommended, clean, food guarantee, a ton of activities, great teachers!

My daughter has been at YAH since she was 6 weeks old and she is now 3 1/2, I had NEVER had a child in daycare and I was totally terrified. Now..I cant say enough good things about YAH! Even on weekends she wants to go to school. Ive never hesitated to leave her there, not even on the first day. I work upstairs in the same building and occasionally just pop down to say hi to the teachers, etc and never, ever have I had less than a joyful experience. I love all the teachers and staff. Im sad to even think about leaving as we are planning to move in the summer. You wont regret sending your child to school here!

My son attended this daycare center for almost two years. All the teachers at this center are excellent. They are very caring and attentive and have a structured schedule for the children. My son recently moved on to kindergarten knowing more than the average five year old. Not only do the teachers at this facility teach the children what they need to know for their kindergarten year, they teach them how to interact properly with other children. I would recommend this facility to anyone who has children that need to prepare for the future.

I love this daycare!! I had my son there for over 2 years on and off.......I LOVE IT! My son came home everyday and amazed me with all the things he learned that day. The teachers are GREAT! My son still wakes up every day asking me to take him there. If I was still working, he would have deff stayed there. I recommond this Daycare to all the mommies, and I will be putting my kids there if I ever need to in the future!

This is an outstanding daycare!! Both my kids went there and weve been very happy with the place. The teachers here provide a loving and caring environment for the kids unlike any other place Ive seen. Other than the occasional colds/flu my kids have been pretty healthy here, which is saying a lot for a daycare. I usually dont write reviews but felt like I should here :-)
