Fortune Restoration recently completed work on my home in Chicago and the results are better than I expected. I hired Fortune after speaking with a job site foreman in Evanston, IL thats where I work and my path to and from the train allowed me the chance to see his teams work from start to finish. The foreman I spoke with was respectful, knowledgeable, professional and he was kind enough to take the time to answer all my questions. The next day I called their office and set up a free estimate. Less than a week later Peter Fortune came out we discussed the scope of the project which included tuck pointing and carpentry as well as painting, he told me they can do that and he gave me a very detailed estimate along with extensive references, after getting three other estimates I chose fortune, The crew that worked on my house was great they were quiet no loud radio, cleaned up at the end of every day which was not easy due to the fact my house had much peeling paint. The men were mindful of my garden as well as my dog and treated my home as if it were their own. The work included interior plaster repair and painting, exterior painting of windows, doors, eaves, fascia, rotten wood replacement on fascia as well as chimney tuck pointing and flue cap installation, all the work looks great thanks again to the Fortune staff

I worked with Pete Fortune at Fortune Restoration and could not have been more pleased with Petes follow up from the first phone call to get an estimate all the through the final walk through and payment. Fortune just completed the carpentry and painting of our 1850s 3-story victorian in Evanston as well as the tuckpointing of our garage. Pete worked with me on coming to agreement on a fair price for all of the exterior work that needed to be completed. Pete would regulary check in with me over the 4-weeks of work to ensure his six man team was meeting my expectations, which they were. In the end Fortunes price was slightly higher than the competitions, but we got everything we paid for and then some. Fortune completed extra carpentry that was outside of the statement of work at no additional costs as well as dropping off extra paint for me at no cost because he knew I was going to paint my garage windows on my own. The limestone on our school building was old and had been weathered and dirtied over many years. The magnitude of this project made it something that was impossible for our school maintenance staff to handle on their own. Mr. Bob Fortune and his team not only diagnosed exactly the cause of our problem but then worked quickly and thoroughly to restore the stone. Fortune Restoration did an absolutely beautiful job cleaning and restoring the limestone while beautifying the front of our school. The attention to detail that Fortune Restoration demonstrated during this project showed care for our school and pride in their work. We could not be more please with the end result! Since the restoration, I have taken several compliments on the new look of the front of our school from both school families and community members; I would recommend Fortune Restoration, without reservation, to any business or residence in need of interior or exterior work.

Very very happy with my Fortune Restoration. Since my husband and I bought our house we have tried out a series of contractors. After some research we decided on Fortune restoration and wow!! They replaced our front steps, our flue and the porch roof. I never thought they would be so generous! They gave us many options and ways the job could go. They showed us ways to improve and did not take the lazy way out as many contractors we’ve experienced have done. Excellent! Very Professional. I hired these guys for tuck pointing work and I was glad I did. The last time I hired a crew for work on my home I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism and how messy they were, leaving cigarette butts everywhere. Fortune Restoration came highly recommended and has proven to be excellent. Tuck-pointing was done on time and clean. The crew was very polite and professional. I since hired them to paint the two rooms in the house and will be needing some porch work done once spring comes around. If your looking for professionals this company does not disappoint. I used Fortune Restoration in September of 2013 to paint a rental property I own in Chicago ,I spoke with Peter Fortune he estimated the job and sent me an E-mail proposal with pictures which was helpful because I live out of state. I found the to be very professional , Peter was my eyes and ears throughout the job keeping me updated and sending pictures. two days before they finished I traveled to Chicago to finalize the job and was very pleased the house looks great, the quality of the work excellent, property was clean of chips and paint spills. These guys are wonderful. Their quote was the most detailed, their price was the best and their work was impeccable. The crew worked very hard, they were neat and cleaned up every evening and was very careful not to do any damage in the course of the job. They were also quite creative in finding a way to finish the job around our climbing vines without destroying years of growth. Would recommend them to anyone.
