I chose this repair place over others due to the incredibly large number of wonderful reviews on every site. After attempting to take my computer there to get repaired I have to conclude that every one of those reviews must of been written by Abhi himself. First of all the prices on the website dont accurately represent how much the actual cost is at all. I brought my computer in for a display issue and was told it would cost 95 dollars if he was unable to fix the issue and 175 if he was able to which was a far cry from the "hardware repair starting at 45$" listed on their website. I begrudgingly agreed and told him it went out after a power surge and asked how long it would take. He said 3 days which would make it ready on a Saturday. Since I did not get a call I called back on Monday as the store was closed on Sunday. He said it would be another day. I called back Tuesday evening and could not get any information out of him that he had done literally any work on my laptop. He said he would call back in a couple hours and again did not. I called him and he told me that it had overheated due to lint in the fans and that the graphics card or motherboard was probably fried. When I asked him to test that he said I would have to purchase my own graphics card and motherboard just to determine if that was the problem. As a computer repairman he does not have spare components to actually determine what the issue is. You would need to purchase almost a new computer just to figure out what was wrong. That was not what I was paying for, I can replace all the parts without a computer repairman. Since it became apparent I wasnt actually going to save money I went to go retrieve my laptop the next day. When I went there the business was just closed for an hour because he was on a "call". After coming back an hour later in an attempt to retrieve it the laptop was completely disassembled so he could show me the clogged fans. At this point I pointed out that it did happen directly after a power surge in my house while my computer was off so it seemed unlikely that it had overheated from a fan issue. He stated that the power surge could have done it to and I realized he did not even remember that I told him it had been a power surge issue in the first place. I told him I just wanted him to put it back together so I could go to a more competent computer repairman and that is supposed to take another day. I am hoping this timeline is real, but doubtful and am passing time by writing this review on a friends computer and posting it to any site I can. I just want to ever see my laptop again so I can take it to someone who has spare components and can figure out which component is actually broken without me purchasing it.

I did a lot of shopping around when it came to fixing my computer, and Computer Zone was by far the most superior. The price (which included file back-up, virus removal, and new software install) was half the price of every other place I looked. From the moment you walk into the store, Abhi (the owner) is very attentive. For someone as technology challenged as me, I did not once feel overwhelmed. Abhi asks the right questions and tries to let you know what problems your device has and also offers a plethora of solutions. The turn around time on getting my computer fixed was less than a day. That is lightning speed considering other places told me at least a week to diagnose the problems with my PC. The fast job was also done with precision and care as well. When you pick up your computer, Abhi also takes the time to go through all the updates with you. He definitely wants you to know what he fixed, what was installed, and offers suggestions on how to keep your computer safe. I was very happy with my experience at Computer Zone. It was obviously worth every penny because Im able to write this review from a computer that operates like new.

I have nothing but absolute praise for Computer Zone. Customer service-wise, Avi (sp?) was exceptional and far surpassed my expectations for cold-calling the closest PC place in Downers Grove. He was patient, he listened to my situation and my needs and he even waited for me well past his closing time so that I could drop off my machine and have a quick turn-around. As for the work itself, I brought him my animation workstation that I felt was having performance issues, and I was right, it was definitely under-performing. This machine (the one that Im typing on right now) is absolutely, 110% palpably faster than before I took it in. My boss came over and was looking over my shoulder this afternoon and at one point let out a "Whoa!" when he saw how peppy this thing was now. Thank you Thank you Thank you Avi! I am extremely pleased with the performance of my machine now and I would highly recommend Computer Zone to anyone in need of help with their PC (I think he fixes iPads, too-).

Abhi is a superior computer problem diagnostician and computer repair engineer. Somehow I contracted an extremely complex virus that was very resistant to fixing. Abhi figured out how to remove this virus, installed new and much stronger virus protection, and installed the new Windows 10 software on my computer. My computer works perfectly and has been totally updated. What I appreciated about Abhis service is his knowledge of computers and his thorough approach to fixing problems and updating at the same time. He is an excellent teacher and is very patient about teaching and explaining the use of the computer that you own. He will model, demonstrate, and watch you demonstrate your new understanding. In addition, he is willing to pick up your computer and drop it off at your home!!! His service was prompt, his repairs thorough, and his cost very reasonable. I highly recommend Computer Zone.

Dont be fooled by the reviews, Like the other review suggested. I think they write reviews for themselves truth be told They take for ever to fix your computer. Then they tell you one price in the beginning. But then wen you call back thinking its fixed. They tell you another price which is a lot more. When you called them, If there familiar with your phone number they wont pick up. I tricked them and called from another phone then they picked right up. Buth then once i spoke with them was told they are out of town. So I drove by there and the guy was right in there. What a lair. Not to mention they never fixed the computer after 4 weeks in there shop. Not even a call from them letting you know whats going on. They even erased all the installed software. Never again will I go there. I suggest you dont either .

Abhi saved me BIG BUCKS! My Mac was crashing so I took it to a company specializing in repairing Apple products. It cost me $75 for them to tell me that the logic board needed to be replaced. That meant I might as well get a new computer. Luckily I brought my Mac to Abhi, since he had recently repaired our PC at a very reasonable cost. Abhi’s diagnosis of my Mac was not only different, but much less expensive. And there was NO charge to diagnose the problem. He replaced some bad memory and needless to say, I was extremely pleased with the results, especially the huge savings. Guess who I’m calling first for all my computer needs: Abhi at Computer-Zone in Downers Grove. Thank you, Abhi!
