Justin Jacobson, from Total Entertainment in Northbrook (a DJ company), did a horrible job at my wedding. I have a whole laundry list of things he did wrong, but I will stick to the major grievances. First, he did not play the music my husband and I asked him to play. We had a very clear verbal agreement on the style and genres of music we wanted him to play and not to play. We even gave him a list of top 10 must play songs in addition to specific guidance on genres and a list of over 100 songs that we liked. His performance during the wedding showed that he totally disregarded any conversations, verbal agreement, or materials we had given him prior to the wedding. He did not play ONE song from the top ten must play list, and Id wager no songs from the 100+ list we gave him 2 months before the wedding. To make matters worse, he played songs from our do not play list and the songs he did play cleared the dance floor. When we confronted him after the wedding, he denied everything and accused us of "defamation" for saying the truth. He was very expensive and a very poor value for the services he gave us. In addition, he requested all the money be paid up front and even sprang another $200 charge on us 2 weeks before the wedding. For these reasons, I urge you not to use him or his company and to spread the word to prevent other couples from paying good money for such unprofessional conduct.

I met the director of Platinum Events, Justin Jacobson, to plan a 60th birthday party for my mother. I could immediately tell that he was experienced and could create a unique theme for her party. I interviewed other services and they did not make me feel as confident as Platinum Events. None of them had ideas that were as creative either. I was nervous the day of the event not knowing how it would turn out due to past experiences with other companies, but it was absolutely breathtaking and the process that day couldnt have flowed more smoothly. From the lounge furniture to the little gold accents on the candle votives, the decorations fit perfectly for the guests and the theme of this event. I also could not believe how fresh and vibrant the flower arrangements were. They looked like they were just picked out of a garden when delivered that day. The party surpassed our expectations. Everything was beautiful and went according to the plan that they originally presented to me. I would highly recommend them for any type of occasion whether big or small. I am excited to share I am using them this fall for a bridal shower and I can not wait to see the newest trends and designs they have in store for me!

This review is long overdue...Platinum Events is by far the best design house in Chicago. From the floral, to the decor, to the lighting, Platinum Events has it all. Justin and Pavel were extremely helpful and kind throughout the entire process. We knew that we were lucky to have worked with Justin and his team the minute we walked into our first meeting. I hired Platinum Events for a major event with 300+ attendees and CEO-level keynote speakers at a very upscale venue in downtown Chicago. While the skyline was beautiful on its own, the Platinum team amazed me when I saw how magical the scenery became! From exquisite center pieces, intimate candlelight, gorgeous accent lighting, walking into the room was like walking into a dream.
