In the spring of 2016, my husband and I fell in love with a Lincoln Park two-flat that we wanted to convert to a single family home. Our only experience with home remodeling was watching HGTV, so we were definitely scared to take on a gut rehab. After receiving a referral from our realtor, we contacted Bart’s Remodeling. Bart came out the very next day (on a Sunday!) to walk the house and give us a ballpark estimate of the renovation costs. From the moment we met Bart, we could tell he was very knowledgeable about the City of Chicago permit process as well as current design trends in Lincoln Park. As unusual as it sounds, we had a great feeling about Bart and trusted him from the beginning. Somehow we just knew that he would take care of our home and renovation like it was his own. Bart told us our renovation would cost approximately $225K and take 6+months to complete. While this timeline was much longer than anything we had seen on HGTV’s Property Brothers, he explained that the major milestones in the project were dependent on the City of Chicago permit process. As a salesperson, I respected his “under promise/over deliver” mentality. Overall, the construction process went smoother than expected. Our original budget remained intact except for some upgrades we chose to add on. Bart and his crew were friendly and considerate to us and our neighbors throughout the process. The very best part about working with Bart is his responsiveness and honesty. He is always available by phone, text, or email and is willing to meet in person to discuss details when needed. He lets you make the design choices, but is always available to provide a “gut check” and will definitely let you know if he questions your design decisions. As he told us multiple times “your home is a billboard for my business,” so he wanted everything to look perfect! We moved into our Dream Home four and a half months after our closing date, and have Bart and his crew to thank. We would recommend Bart’s Remodeling to anyone looking to get high quality renovations from a contractor and crew you can trust.

It was a pleasure to work with Bart! His team was prompt, professional and got the jobs done according to the budget and timeline laid out at the beginning of the project. We have a house that was built in 1888, and the bathrooms were at least 20yrs old. The upstairs was completely redone with a new layout, a stand-alone shower was installed, a free-standing tub and a new double vanity and toilet. The plumbing and HVAC had to be completely rerouted, and new lights were installed as well. The downstairs bathroom was more cosmetic, and the layout for fixtures did not have to be completely changed. Bart was able to translate our vision for how we wanted the design and aesthetic for the bathrooms into reality, and we couldnt imaging a better outcome. We had a lot of fun picking out our fixtures, and Bart gave us just the right about of guidance for tile choices and layout, paint, and other design elements. They have exceeded our expectations, overall we couldnt be happier!

We hired Barts remodeling to finish our basement last summer. He gave us a very detailed estimate and was patient to hear back from us. He started and completed the project on time and within budget. He has an excellent crew working for him all of whom were very very professional and knowledgeable and polite. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves. We did not have to worry about anything. Also, Bart managed the project seamlessly making sure the right crew was there each day to finish the job. He always also super helpful in providing choices for doors, sinks, faucets, granite and cabinets. He even bought samples home for us to choose from. He has an excellent office staff who were very prompt to respond to our queries and providing email confirmations of checks received. Overall we were very pleased with his work and professionalism. We would highly recommend him to our friends for any project. They are an excellent choice for any project.

Ive worked with Bart on one large job and one relatively small job. The first project was a complete renovation of a 2000 sqr ft basement. A highly custom job that created several living spaces: guest bedroom, bathroom, exercise room, bar, theater and additional storage rooms. The other project was also very custom but smaller in scale as we renovated an existing mudroom and relocated a second floor laundry room. My opinion is very positive of both the end result as well as the process (equally as important when taking on home renovation projects since by nature they tend to add stress to ones life). Barts involvement is constant and his attention to detail was more than appreciated. His team in the office kept things moving forward and on track while the guys at the house were respectful, clean and efficient. I refer Bart as often as possible to friends and will definitely use him again in the future.

What always impresses me with human, is whether they are capable with the volume of people that exist on our property because there are a lot of children in and out, also having the consciousness that the project I requested is at my family house in the same neighborhood where I grew up, and this also can become overwhelming for people. Bart was absolutely terrific, very patient, and clearly understanding when it came to presenting the craftsmanship request to him. We recently had a basement remodeling his crew was polite in its execution as well, which I appreciate. I found the quote a little expensive and I like how the company were able to negotiate a way to reduce those costs as well. Yes I would refer Barts Remodeling services to family and friends.

I was referred to Barts Remodeling and Construction by my interior designer and Im glad I chose them for my bathroom renovation. When I met with Bart, I thought he was very professional and personable and I was impressed by the very detailed estimate he provided. During the renovation, his crew was also very professional and their work was excellent. Bart and his staff were very responsive to any questions I had. When some of my materials didnt arrive when they were supposed to, they were very patient and worked me into their schedule quickly once they did arrive. This was the first renovation Ive ever done on my condo and I feel lucky to have been able to work with such a great contractor!

When we were preparing to remodel, we looked at few several companies for our basement remodeling in chicago. We tried to find an honest, dependable, and innovative contractor. Barts Remodeling met all three criteria with high scores. Bart and his team came with ideas and plans, but also listened to our needs and the result is incredible. Our new bathroom and bedroom addition is cute and truly one of a kind. Our basement has been converted into and entertainment area that we really enjoy.

I am very pleased with the work and everyone from Barts Remodeling, including their employees. We couldn’t leave our house during renovation Bart’s crew is doing remarkably well to keep the working area organized and mess to a minimum. We were updated during project progress and more import antly, our advice and feedback is routinely searched and acted on. Bart knows that it is not just the finished construction that is import ant but the construction process as well.
