Ive been looking for a good pool to start lap swimming again like I did in High school. I decided to try this place because it was a minute or two from home. I started on the website with the free 3 day pass thing. I was going to try the pool out to get my endurance back. I walked in and was greeted by a woman at the desk. I explained about the 3 day pass, a bit uneasy what I was actually doing. She directed me over to a office type area where I worked with this cool dude whos name escapes me (Sorry cool dude if you are reading this, but you know who you are) He took a few moments to see why I was here, then directed me to get the "official" presentation from a younger girl named Alyssa. She greeted me and (attempted) to get me started in the computer. She had a hard time getting my name started so she decided to work around it (I can relate, service advisor at a dealer service center with slow computer syndrome). Anywho, she seemed very knowledgeable with the atmosphere of the place, and through her questions helped me decide what I was really looking for out of the place. After a co-worker got the finicky computer going again, she gave me a tour. My initial impressions of the place were that is was organized, and efficient. Each area had a specific type of workout. Bikes, Stretches, Racquetball, leg lifts, chest, arms, etc. During the tour she explained each area very well, and was also able to answer a question on how to use some odd looking machine that I later learned to be for calf muscles. After, we went through separate locker rooms to meet at the pool. The locker rooms were clean, and rather nice looking. (Its a mens locker room, acceptable is clean imo) Showers looked decent too. We met at the pool where she explained the pool temp, (78-82 ish) and Jacuzzi. The pool itself was clean, and underpopulated. Which was nice. Water was clear, no signs of lack of chlorine (Or too much, thank god. That was a bad experience in HS...) At the end of the tour we met back at the desk and she explained different membership options. I really liked the place so I signed up then and there. She told me after that I was her first signup and she had worked there for a week. That sincerely surprised me considering her knowledge of the place. Overall, the facility is very good, and the employees that work there (The ones I interacted with at least) Were fantastic. That cool dude was very welcoming, and Alyssas attitude very uplifting. I look forward to coming here every evening to get the fitness level I had back in high school.

**UPDATE: 6/30/2017: LA FITNESS NO LONGER LISTS THE NAMES OF THEIR PERSONAL TRAINERS ON THEIR WEBSITE AS MENTIONED IN MY INITIAL REVIEW. MAKE SURE TO GOOGLE THE NAME OF YOUR TRAINER TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A FELONY FOR ANY VIOLENT CRIMES** 2/18/2016: I was told at the beginning of my membership that if I paid in full, I would be able to cancel at any time with a full refund of anything left in my account for the year minus a $50 cancellation fee. Welp, went to cancel today due to dissatisfaction with the gym, their employees, and the general atmosphere that this particular LA Fitness has. I would suggest that you google their personal trainers. They list their names on their website. You will find that more than a couple of them have criminal records for various things like breaking and entering and eluding police in a high speed chase. These are their employees. Theyre arrogant and rude to clients of the gym. Imagine the cliche 19 year old telling you "I AM the manager" when you ask to speak with one. The facility is also filthy. They have a cleaning crew... but theyre rarely seen. When I tried to cancel my membership, I spoke with Christine, who told me that they do not do these types of cancellations and then she asked me in a very demeaning tone "Did you read what you signed?" Well shame on me for taking the word of one of LA Fitnesss employees and NOT reading that I indeed cannot cancel my membership at any time. This means that I will be throwing away over $250 and they could care less. I called corporate and they told me the same thing. "We go by supporting documents, not what one of our employees TOLD you." So I am SOL. But YOU are not. Do not sign up at this gym. Avoid at all costs. You will not be happy with the facility itself, their employees, or their shady business procedures just to secure a buck and meet their enrollment numbers. If this loses LA Fitness just one new member, then I will feel like this whole sh*tshow was worth it. Both financially and morally.

DO NOT! And I repeat DO NOT waste your money coming to this gym. The staff at this gym is awful. All except the operations manager (shes wonderful) and a few trainers! But the remaining staff....rude! Always have their faces in their cell phones. The management team never greets their guests EVER (only the operations manager does, like I said shes great). When you walk into a gym shouldnt you immediately be walking into a facility that promotes nothing other than HEALTH AND FITNESS. Haha well at La Fitness you walk into the sales team with McDonalds cups on their desks. Theres an exit door right next to the womens locker room where staff comes in and out of from their smoke breaks. That entire hallway has an awful stench of cigarette smoke everyday. The bathrooms are always DISGUSTING. Counters are filled with puddles of water. The toilet paper and paper towel dispensers are never replenished. Nothing like going to the bathroom and having to drip-dry. Garbage cans are always overflowing of trash. WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR HOUSEKEEPING STAFF DOING WHILE ON DUTY??? Oh Ill tell you, theyre sitting in the sauna chatting amongst each other. The equipment takes at minimum 2 weeks to get fixed. The equipment is never cleaned. The gym is always a mess with weights scattered all over the place. And you get absolutely ZERO cell phone service in the gym, ONLY outside the front door. So basically you get to listen to the quiet music they play in the background or you play the five songs on your iPod on repeat...how motivating!!

I SUGGEST ANYONE THINKING OF SIGNING UP HERE to read the following statements before hand. I only still attend here because its the only gym with a descent amount of equipment near me... even though the equipment will stay broken for months even after making notice to the "general manager" . There are a select few employees here that are genuinely nice and make the attempt to say hello. You should NOT be walking into the gym to check in just to be greeted by a lady eating flaming hot Cheetos at the counter with her dirty ass fingers. This is a gym, a health facility, not your kitchen. The managers, who are suppose to be leaders, NEVER greet any guests, will walk through the entire gym with their eyes glued to their phone, especially the GM. It has been by far the worse customer service, cleanliness gym I have ever been apart of. The trainers are good and there are a couple that truly do seem to care about their job and their clients. The Operations manager that is currently there, at the time of this posting, is great she greets, takes care of issues when prompted. Weights are CONSTANTLY scattered all over. A lot of times the paper towels are completely empty or garbage bins overflowing. Cant speak for the classes but what I hear from others they enjoy them.
