I bought a used 1995 Chevy truck and I took it to Milex to have a mechanic look it over. They told me a long list of things that I needed to have them replace, the most urgent of which was my oil cooler lines. I couldnt afford to have everything replaced so I had them do the lines first and when I had more money I would have them do the rest. Well, it took them three days to replace the oil cooler lines even though when I dropped it off they said I could pick it up the next morning. And when I was able to drive it home, the engine over heated (260+) before I could get it home. So I had to have it towed back there for more servicing (which I didnt have to pay for and that is the ONLY reason they are getting 2 stars). Well, its been about a week and I decided I would inspect the oil cooler lines just to see if they were actually repaired...NOPE. The leak is just as bad as it originally was which means that the oil cooler lines before were fine and perhaps it was just a leaky gasket at the line-radiator interface or something. So now I have to take it BACK to them and have them "repair" it. The only reason I am doing this is because if I took it elsewhere it would cost more money but to be honest, I might just do that. I asked a couple locals and they told me that Chucks just down the street is a very good "mom and pops" type auto mechanic that is going to shoot it to you straight and perform really nice repairs. Hmm. In the middle of typing this I actually called Chucks. While talking with Rich at Chucks on the phone, before I could finish telling them about my engine coolant leak coming from the radiator house, he told me that I need to replace the radiator and that theres a hairline crack on the flange leading out from the radiator. He said that he has seen that a lot in Chevys of that make and model. He told me it would be about $350 to replace the radiator and that he might HELP ME OUT A LITTLE BIT (money wise) because I got fed so bad by Milex. Oh, and I was speaking directly to the mechanic. This is not a good auto shop. They do not perform good repairs. Their labor cost is steep ($95 per hour). They do not perform the RIGHT repairs. They do not accurately tell you what is wrong with your vehicle. And you are not able to actually speak to a mechanic when you go in there. I mean, the guy at the desk is really nice and willing to help but in the end I need to speak to the guy looking at my car to let him know whats going on. Im going to go into Milex tomorrow to ask for the money back that I spent on labor for a bad fix. Oh and Rich at Chucks Auto Center said he gets customers that got bad repairs from Milex ALL THE TIME...ALL THE TIME! How is this place still in business. I will repeat this so whomever is thinking about calling Milex to have them work on your car will choose a different place: Chucks Auto Center has unsatisfied Milex customers come in to perform repairs that Milex did not fix, or diagnose correctly ALL THE TIME! DAILY! Please...I wasted $700 taking my car to Milex. Do NOT make this mistake. Take your car to Chucks, their labor cost is cheaper...you can talk with the mechanic directly and they actually shoot it to your straight...they perform the repairs that Milex should have done but were too incompetent to do.

This place is the worst car place i have ever been. their mechanic dont know how to check the car. they told me the list of problems with my car, i told them that i believe in you guys because AAA recommended me this place but after spending 700 bucks my car was still not starting than they said your car has something else worong too. they didnt tell me that on the first place and said now it will cost me 300 more to get it fixed. i paid all the money and now exactly after 5 days my car is having the same problem again. THIS PLACE IS WORSTTTTTTTTT. THEY JUST RAPE YOU ...THATS IT

I took my car to Milex in Sycamore to have them recalibrate my 0xygen sensor for my air/fuel gauge and to clean the underside of my engine compartment, as I enter the car in car shows. They were quick, efficient, and thorough with their work. To my surprise, when they finished they presented me with a bill that was about 1/3 of what I thought it should be. I told them that I appreciated the gesture, but I insisted on paying what I thought was fair for their time and trouble. Nice people, good service, good prices. Ill be back!

I took my car to the C.A.R. Hospital, on 7th Street, first. They tried to rip me off knowing that I was from out of town and desperate to get my car fixed. Mr. Transmission, Milex, towed my car from the other shop and fixed it the same day. Milex was about $300.00 less than the C.A.R. Hospital. They were very professional and the service was quick. I found my new mechanic, when in town.

I just had trouble with my Service Engine Soon light which required a computer update. The manager at Milex, Rich King, took the time to explain the problem and how it would be fixed. He was polite, considerate, and thorough. To our pleasant and unexpected surprise, the job was completed ahead of schedule the same day
