I have been going to the same stylist at this salon for three years. A few months ago I created a bridal contract for her to do my hair and makeup, my MOHs makeup, and another stylist would do hair for my MOH. I also received a very generous gift card from my future in laws that would mostly cover the cost of the services. Fast forward a few months, and my stylist left to open her own suite. We were hoping the salon owner would let my stylist come back to the salon and keep the details of the contract intact, but the owner was unwilling. I called at a later date to cancel my contract because I want the stylist Ive known and trusted for the last few years, which I think any future bride could relate to. When I called the salon, a very young sounding girl answered who didnt seem to be able to answer many of my questions. I asked if so and so, the last person I knew to be in charge of bridal contracts, was available. To my surprise, the girl who answered the phone said she was now in charge. Hmmm. I told her I wanted to cancel my bridal contract because my stylist no longer worked there. I very politely mentioned that I was disappointed that nobody from the salon took the time to call me and explain that my stylist had left. All she did was say she was sorry, very sweetly, but did not make any effort to go beyond a two word apology. I then asked if I could be refunded for my gift card since I cancelled my contract and my stylist no longer worked there. (Long shot, I know, but its the least they can do in this situation.) She did not know, but she said the owner would be in soon and would ask her, then call me back. I got a call back from the salon. I was disappointed that the owner did not call me back. It was the same girl from my first call. She said, again, very sweetly, said that I could not get a refund on the gift card, but that I could use it on products, manicures, etc. and just left it at that. Now, I used to answer phones for a high end salon, and I know how nasty customers can turn when not satisfied, so I did not get angry with this girl; shes just a messenger. However, I did tell her I was so disappointed that the owner didnt call me back personally instead, and that it was really unprofessional to do that, on top of not letting me know my stylist left, especially knowing I had a bridal contract. I told her thats not how you run a business. In addition, I said I was not looking for a handout, but now Im stuck with a gift card to spend at a place where I no longer want to go or spend money. I also mentioned how upset I would have been to show up on my wedding day and be presented with a different stylist than I had been expecting. I said thankfully my stylist was professional enough to contact me when she left. To this, the girl on the phone said they tried to call everyone, but they must have missed me. No kidding? Again, nothing was done in the slightest to compensate me for the inconvenience and lack of professionalism, just an "Im sorry" from someone who probably just started working there. Rant aside, I gave them an additional star for their lather lounge, where you can get two extras added to your shampoo and conditioning, such as a head and neck rub, which I always got, a cooling eye mask, hand massage, etc. The stylists are young and talented, and the place is overall relaxing. Beware though if you are expecting good customer service on the part of the owner. Simply disappointed in her.

Im in LOVE!! I just had my hair/brows done at the NEW Stephan Alan Salon in Yorkville and it was nothing short of ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! This place will be the hottest place on town so I would strongly urge you to check them out now before they blow up!! Ive been a customer of Heather, the owner, for some time now and there is definitely something to be said about this girl and her unwavering ambition. The place itself is gorgeous and has a very trendy industrial feel to it, which I love. My brow session was not your typical waxing appt, she showed me some new techniques and even used some products available for purchase for shaping and darkening my brows. I was blown away by the color bar that they have there, stocked with gorgeous Paul Mitchell hair colors. The possibilities are endless! We chose to stick with my usual color cocktail but did some spot highlights to give it that "fun in the sun" feel! I literally was complimented by everyone I saw the rest of the day. If I had to pick a favorite though, it would definitely be the shampoo room aka The Lather Lounge!! It starts with a sliding barn door entrance into a dimmed room designed to give you what we all love about getting our hair done; a chance to relax. The best part is you can pick 2 complementary additions to help enhance your spa experience!! I chose the hand treatment and pressure point massage... so wonderful and just what I needed! The whole experience felt like a dream!! Welcome to Yorkville, Stephan Alan Salon!!

Wonderful and great place. Very very clean, professional and fabulous salon. I had my hair done with Samantha, she was great. Got a quick and easy tour of the salon, waxing room, coloring station and explained everything she was doing. Would recommend this salon to family & friends. Go see Samantha.

Have been going to Stephen Alan Salon in Sycamore ever since they opened up. Truly have had amazing hair cuts and colors everytime I go. Highly recommend this salon. So excited the Yorkville location has opened as it is closer to home for me.

Ive never been disappointed by the quality of service, or the personal attention provided. The scalp massage / shampoo is worth the visit! Heather is an artist with shears! Highly recommend this salon.
