I have worked out for several years & recently switched to LA Fitness about 6 months ago mainly because my local Golds Gym closed. This was truly a blessing in disguise for me. LA Fitness has got to be the best facility that I have ever worked out in. They have many amenities that other gyms simply dont offer. The cost of this gym is very reasonable especially for the level of equipment & service I have access to. The equipment is top notch & clean. I never have to wait for equipment to become free as LA has multiples of just about everything, heck, they have 4 flat bench presses if that tells you anything. The staff is always helpful & friendly towards me, always willing to help if I need it as well as making good passing conversation. Another thing about the staff that I find as a positive is that the same core of people have worked here since I started so there appears to be very little turnover, they know me by name & visa versa.. I see people talk about TV channels in these reviews. This is a gym, stay home if you want to watch TV. However to be technical, This place has a completely different channel on every TV, CNN, ESPN, FOXSPORTS, LOCAL, NATIONAL, HLN, MSNBC, FOX, ect. The TV selection is very diverse if that is what matters to you. I could care less what is on the TV but saw the other comments posted so wanted to chime in. I work out very often here so at this point I know the staff & facility well enough to leave this positive review as LA Fitness has earned 5 stars from me... I Deadlift & Squat over 400LBS as well as bench close to 400 LBS. I am a serious lifter so when I say this is the place to go, accept this review as written from someone who knows what he is talking about. Thank you, Anthony Cardone

LA FITNESS SUCKS I miss Cardinal Fitness... it wasnt great but at least the staff was halfway friendly and the place wasnt over crowded. Most of the members were polite enough to not take up multiple benches or machines. Seems that they should teach and require members to go "gym etiquette" when joining. what is "gym etiquette" you ask? - dont throw your weights you steroid dbags...if you cant lift 120 lb dumbbells and then rest them back down on the floor...dont use them. throwing them down is going to kill someone, unfortunately it wont be the idiot that threw them. -wipe your sweat up off the machine/ bench when your done. gross. - dont stink. i cant breathe during my sets if you havent showered in a week. - dont yell or scream or grunt loudly. annoying and distracting. - dont stare at the pretty girls. so many creepers - dont tie up several machines or benches at once during peak hours -let people work in with you if you have several sets to go and its during busy peak hours. be considerate -dont stand at the water fountain for 5 minutes filling up your water bottle. again, courtesy people! -pick up your weights when your done, clean up after yourself its hard to believe that people have so little consideration for one another, but i see this crap every time i work out there. Bottom line...LA Fitness sucks and they know it because they went ahead and bought out every other place ...so they didnt even have to worry about competing. Hopefully someone else will come into this market and I can quit. until then... ugh. you have no one to blame but yourself if you have read all of these posts and you still join and hate it.

The facilities at this LA Fitness are fine, if crowded. My low rating is due to the staff. I read the low reviews before I joined, but joined anyway because I figured it probably wasnt that bad. Spoiler alert: it is. -Sales staff will aggressively push training on you. If you havent been to the gym in a while, they will call you and try to sell you training. If you you tell them not to call you, they will call you anyway, and be rude when you tell them you asked them not to call. -Staff will give you conflicting information about rates and policies. If you do decide to get a membership here, I recommend getting EVERYTHING, such as which guests you can bring, when, and for how much, in writing. -Staff will be dismissive to you. I work out because it makes me feel good, emotionally and physically, not to be a particular size. Training staff tried to tell me, in a very condescending manner, that I "had to have goals." Like hell I do. Lifelong fitness isnt about being a certain size or weight. If you are fine with being extremely firm about policies, can deal with rude and dismissive staff, dont mind shutting down sales pitches, and just want a basic place to work out, go for it. For me, it wasnt worth the regular hassle of fending off the fitness bros that work there. These people dont have your best interests at heart. If you have the money, I recommend choosing one of the higher quality gyms in the area. If you dont have the money, I recommend finding a body weight program you can do in your living room, or running outside. L.A. Fitness sucks.

PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!! I am a personal trainer/corportate fitness instructor in Indianapolis. I was a member of this estabilisment for about one month before mailing in my member cancelation due to me being able to workout at my own loaction elsewhere. After mailing in my cancelation, I assumed things would go smoothly and that LA Fitness would surely handle this easy transaction seemlessly. A couple months later I notice that I have still been getting billed. I talked with both member representatives from this location as well as corporate and they were INCREDIBLY rude telling me I have to be more repsonsible and catch something like that sooner and that they refuse to refund me my money. You would think they cared a little bit about keeping a customer happy wouldnt you? LA Fitness is nothing but a bunch of theives running a gym with poor services, trainers, and managers. Employees care little to none about the members and care largely for themelves. Couldnt be happier that I turned a job down from them many months ago. Be prepared to jump through hoops if you ever end up leaving their club.

Ive been a member of this gym for more than two years. Its a nice place to go work out, generally clean and comfortable atmosphere. My biggest problem is signing up for training and then being promised things by one salesperson, but its a half-truth. "Sure we can delay your payments for X months while you cant do training" ... at the cost of $15/month...thanks for telling me. Why would I pay you to not bill me? I signed a contract for 12 months, but there is a clause that if you dont provide written cancellation, you will continue to be billed monthly even though the contract term says clearly "12 months" and they dont provide the service of notifying you that your contract is coming to an end (because it would be so difficult to send out an automated email). Luckily I noticed $280 too late and they will not provide a refund or allow me to redirect that money. Theres one thing they are concerned about here...money, and theyll go the used-car salesman route to get it. Do not trust them. I wish they would refurbish their bike machines. The pedals are rusted and the clips no longer work.
