I truly think the Ritz Charles has to be the best venue to get married in central Indiana. Throughout our whole planning experience, everything was made so easy for us. Elise was our reception coordinator (we had our reception in the Garden Pavilion), and she was so wonderful, friendly, and easy to work with every step of the way. When we were unsure about the food at the menu tastings (particularly the chicken), she arranged with the chef for us to come in for a private tasting. The food, and especially the chicken, ended up being delicious!!! We were so pleased and felt like the Ritz went out of their way to make sure we were happy with it. Anne was our chapel coordinator and she was just amazing. She was so sweet and fun to work with. I thought her job was mainly just to open and close the chapel for us, but she did so much more!! From welcoming guests, helping with seating since we didnt have ushers, she also set up our decorations, and so much more. Any issues that arised (such as the shuttle from our hotel running late), she calmly mentioned to me so I was informed but made sure I didnt have to worry about ANYTHING. She made everything run smoothly and seamlessly. I even showed up with a wedding picture of my mom and dad that we wanted to display but didnt have a frame (last minute wedding problems!!), and she ran over to the main building and found a frame for us to use. Angie was our "day of" manager for food, beverage, and EVERYTHING at our reception. She was so sweet and made sure my groom and I were taken care of the whole time. She anticipated our needs before we even knew we needed anything. As soon as the ceremony was over, she was in the chapel with signature drinks for us to enjoy before we took pictures. Then she returned with drinks for our whole wedding party! She not only attended to us but I know she made sure our guests were well taken care of throughout dinner and the whole reception. It was absolutely a pleasure having her around the whole night. These are just a few of moments that really stood out to us and made us feel like VIP on our wedding day. But overall, I really felt like the whole staff who took care of us at the Ritz Charles was the Dream Team. We were always excited to host our wedding there, but never expected to be treated SO WONDERFULLY and to feel SO special by the staff. Everyone was so genuine, sincere, and extremely professional.

I had attended a wedding of a close family member a few weeks ago. The wedding reception cost a lot of money and we drained our finances to make the wedding reception possible at the Ritzh Charles. I am writing about my own personal experience and also that of my family and the bride and groom. It was awful. From the food, of which when I found to enquire about the food, and whether we could have Indian food, and were told we have food and we can make it spicy. What kind of response was that to my question? I did not complaint at that stage but now after the wedding reception I need to make my voice heard. The uniforms of the waiters looked like it was ironed with a cold iron. The decor was awful and we did not get what we asked for. I am too disappointed to even post pictures on my FB account of this wedding. Please I do not even want Ritz Charles to email me for more details. Our family have a negative experience about the whole event and dont want to be further associated as clients of Ritz Charles anymore. Tania

I recently attended a wedding reception at the Garden Pavilion. The facility is beautiful, the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was wonderful.....and although it was a very warm and humid evening, fans were located throughout the Pavilion, keeping most of the guests comfortable because the air was moving... even though there was no air conditioning. So why one star? Well, we were seated at the West end of the Pavilion. Not only were there no fans pointing in our direction, but the sun was beating down on the glass from the west....and they had no shades to pull down to prevent the heat of the setting sun....Nor any extra fans!!!! I asked the Manager to please get some fans....I was told there were no more available.... I told a co-worker this story and she said the same thing happened to her when she attended a wedding there on a warm night in April.....What a shame the management doesnt address this obvious issue....

I attended an event on a weekend. The building and the interior decor were nice. Good landscaping. The service was not up to par. The tablecloth had stains on it. The banquet servers did not know how to serve properly. The servers would come in between two people and set their dishes down. One is supposed to serve from the left and remove from the right. There was no bread served at several of the tables, no soup spoon provided for the first course soup, no refills offered. The servers did have pleasant attitudes, but seemed to lack the proper training for such an establishment. Plates were not cleared. Our desserts arrived (presented on a tray for the whole table), and the server simply put it on one persons plate. The food was good, and they did slice the chicken for the salad. But really lacking on the details and the finer points of serving.

Having been to a few parties here, I can say that the exterior "tent" room looks pretty nice, however it can be chilly in the cooler months. The service of the staff is all over the place, the first visit I remember it being average and the last visit was closer to bad than average. A guest at our table had to convince the staff to not take his place, and then they still did leaving him with food in his hand and no where to put it. I think part of it was a language barrier as well as some staff being a too young to help / handle alcoholic beverages. The food may be okay for some corporate events, but if I was getting that food for my wedding, I would have been a little upset.

I photographed a wedding at their outdoor facility, The Coxhall Gardens. It was a fantastic venue. I rarely rate venues because Im not the intended customer. But, as a wedding vendor, I felt compelled to say how much I liked this venue because they hit all the right notes with my clients and it was an especially photogenic location. My assistant and I still talk about this place. The reception was held in a very nice tent on the grounds next to a small lake, and they did such a good job with everything. Head over to my blog and enter Coxhall Gardens in the search (on the right) to see the photos. I think youll agree :-).

Our son Conor and his bride Emma were married June 9 at Ritz Charles and the reception was held in the Pavilion. Bill from Ritzs executive team led the operations and along with Rachel coordinating and the entire team -- our hats off to an outstanding job and great attention to the guests and to all the details. The food, venue, preparations, sound, setup, tables/chairs/linens, bar services -- Everything -- was so well done. They even arranged a clear sky, breeze and a full moon! :) We are very thankful for such a wonderful event that the entire Ritz Charles team helped make into a perfect day!!
