I have been dancing and taking lessons at Dance Louisville for just over a year. When my former dance teacher unexpectedly passed away in the middle of a competitive dance season, and right before the world competition - I needed someone who could step in and pick up the reins quickly. I also needed someone who could help me progress in both competitive dance and social dance. Brian Barakauskas (and Dance Louisville) was my choice and Im so grateful that he accepted me as his student. In the year that I have been taking lessons from Brian, I have learned so much and my dancing has progressed significantly. Not only am I learning to dance well, both competitively and socially, I have made so many friends at Dance Louisville. They are truly my dance family. The studio atmosphere is so warm and friendly - everyone goes out of their way to make sure newcomers feel welcome and encouraged. Whenever anyone asks me where they should take dance lessons - Dance Louisville is my recommendation. Hands. Down. Brenda

My Dad invited me to try ballroom dancing with him a little over a year ago. I had never taken any formal dance lessons in my life and only went to support him. Since that first day at Dance Louisville, I have taken lessons in Rumba, Fox Trot, Waltz, East Coast Swing, Night Club, Salsa, Bachata, Two step, Tango, Cha Cha. and West Coast Swing. I have made connections with people on a friendly fun level and on a deeply personal level. I had almost stopped living life, but dance and the Dance Louisville Staff have been a part of my personal journey. Ive lost weight, gotten out of my comfort zone and most importantly, Im having fun! Brian. Kelly, Megan, David, Michelle, and so many more are professional dancers/instructors that enjoy what they do, but mostly, they enjoy people. They keep me coming back for more. If you are looking for a place to start living life, or if you are already a dancer looking for a new dancing home... You WILL find what you are looking for at Dance Louisville.

I began dancing West Coast Swing with Brian as my instructor about 3 years ago and immediately felt welcome at his studio as a part of his dance family. Not only is Brian incredibly talented as a dancer, but gifted as a teacher as well. He always has a smile on his face and his attitude makes his studio one of the most positive places I have stepped foot into. He is incredibly efficient with the time in our lessons and I see definite improvement with each. Whether you are looking to begin dancing, or drastically advance your moves, Brian and his staff have the talent to accommodate your goals. You will make a whole new group of friends that will encourage you to be the best dancer you can be. Dance Louisville is a one of a kind place that you must experience for yourself to understand the passion and love Brian and his dancers all have for this sport. If you are on the edge and thinking about taking up dancing, I promise this is the place for you!

My wife (fiancee at the time) and I found Dance Louisville online when we decided that we wanted to do something special for our first dance at our wedding. We were pretty nervous, as neither one of us had ever danced before, and we didnt know what to expect. As soon as we entered the studio, we were greeted warmly, and our instructor, Emily, was incredibly kind, patient and talented. We had such a good time learning our first dance that we decided to do a second surprise dance, as well, and both were a huge hit! We were able to learn two completely different dances in about two months, and Emily and the rest of the staff at Dance Louisville were always welcoming and helpful. Weve actually started taking lessons there because we had such a good time learning to dance! I would highly recommend Dance Louisville for anyone wanting to learn to dance in an awesome environment with great people.

I met Brian (the owner) 3 years ago at an event in Germany, where he was teaching C&W and dance technique. He is such a great dancer and a perfect teacher. This made me curious to see his studio in Louisville, KY. So I decided to plan a stop over on my annual US trips to visit his studio. I really love this place. It makes you feel warm and comfortable. I also took the chance to get private lessons from Megan and you can tell that all the teachers there have a highly qualified education. As I started to love this place I also visited Derby City Swing in 2014, a great event Brian is hosting in Louisville. I knew almost no one there, but the people from Dance Louisville took care of my like a family member! If I would live in the Louisville area, Dance Louisville would be definitely the place to go! I wished a place like that would be around here in Germany!

Been coming for nearly three months. To the point. Dance Louisville is great. The staff are friendly and experienced, the atmosphere is one of support and encouragement, and the students are good about welcoming and dancing with new people. The pricing packages are great for new students, giving you enough group classes and private lessons to decide which pricing options best fit your dedication and skill level as you progress further. If you are a casual dancer looking for a fun night out, the parties are a great way to spend an evening socializing. If you are an experienced ballroom dancer, there are showcases and competitions to challenge yourself. If you are nervous about your skill level, just bring a good attitude, be willing to practice, and Dance Louisville will help you become a better dancer.

I feel welcomed here. Everyone is friendly and very nice. I came here not knowing anything about ballroom dance. I feel like I have learned so much in a short time. The instructors are good at teaching. They break down the steps and make it easy to learn even with no experience. The beginning classes are great to learn the basics, and I dont need a partner to attend. We rotate partners and get to learn from each other, because we are all beginners. Its fun! I always leave class smiling. And the social dances they host a couple of times per month are great. I get to practice what I learn in class. There are a lot of skill levels from beginner to advanced to absolutely amazing at these dances. I get many chances to dance with a variety of people and learn from them all.

For the past 10 years, I’ve been taking dance lessons from Superstar Brian. That reflects the joy and growth Ive felt at Dance Louisville. Leery at first about taking lessons with a world-class champion, I soon discovered that Brians excellence translated into the clearest, most enjoyable dance lessons. Absolute Fun! My two left feet were whipped into shape, and by golly, I can dance! All the instructors bring that joy of dancing, clear-cut instructions, and genuine care of students into each lesson. Much more than learning a new social skill, Ive gained lasting friendships, confidence, and poise - all while having the time of my life. If youve ever wanted to learn how to dance, this is the place to feel nurtured.
