Friends being stupid

Im a student at G.O and I can honestly say that this place is the worst. if your sighing up for Job corp pick any place but Great Onyx. not only is this place just is a great way to find your breaking point its a perfect example of what a job corp shouldnt be. lets start with the center itself. the place looks ok from a distance but the closer you get the more you see the poor state that the land and thats because the only landscapers they have here is students that they get to help. that doesnt sound bad until you realize none of them know what there doing and then the staff is nothing less than a joke just because the only thing they can help you with is understanding there nothing their going to do to make this place better for your well being. the food here is just good enough to choke it down and hopefully you never realize how nasty some of the students really are because thats who is working in the back in the kitchen cutting fruit helping the chef cook cleaning the dishes serving the food and wiping everything down and if your thinking "oh, ill never do kitchen duty." HA! jokes on you cause you have to and if you dont Boom! your gone. next comes the mean attraction the trades they offer here. 10/10 will go home again. the painting the carpentry the computer tech the office administration, plumbing and urban forestry. the place was not meant for office administration or CT just because the computers here or so out date and the severs they use block so much you cant do parts of the CT class because the sites you need to use. your 2 hours away from anything in every direction. if your are planning to come here leave your phone the only serves you get out here is Cricket and AT&T. the dissections the Great onyx staff make are always stupid. They shut down 1 bay to save money and the reason is never given but counting all the reasons youll here is to save money, there was not enough kids to leave it open, to open a different bay to remodel the other one and my favorite there isnt enough money in the budget. Yeah thats a thing here to G.O is so under founded they run out of money so you got kids that cant get there permits, some that cant go on their leave because no money for the tickets. I can truly say the only thing this place has taught me is how to be a worse person. please pray for me and future kids that come here and parents please make sure you keep in touch with your kid if they do come here.

This place was a true learning experience, especially for those people that or to stuck in there ways to want to learn some thing new. Sure Job corps had it`s ups and downs, including a good amount of drama. But this manly came from stubborn ignorant children that did not know how to behave while away from there parents. Job corps did not take us in to be treated like children, but it`s a shame they have to do so. in-between running after suicidal children that think there lives cant go on because there boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with them and the he said she said business. It`s pretty darn hard for the staff to take a break, especially the night shift staff that have to continuously check up on "Grown" students. For the record of course this place is not perfect but it`s still a place were people with nowhere left to turn can go and make some thing of them selves, remember this is supposed to be training to have a job not some pre school for prepubescent ignoramus child.

I thought I was going to pineknot.but i went Great Onyx instead and it was plain awful.because students had to do stuff what the constonions wouldve done if it had them.The students had do most of the work around the center.Its kind of a labor camp.I came for computer training but their program was terrible and outdated.You have to done two weeks in the kitchen.the only thing that wasnt so bad was the food.I wouldnt recommend it .I believe This place should be shut.

Its not the best place however youll spend so much time talking about how shitty the place is with others that youll forget about how shitty it really is. Things can be pretty strict but if you hang with the rigjt people and stay out of trouble you should be fine.

Great Onyx isnt a luxury but it was not that bad, just stay away from the wrong crowd do what you came to do and u should be fine.
