I went to this post office to get my first Passport and I was very excited, until my experience applying for one. First of all, the "post master" BONNIE had no idea what she was doing, she kept telling me different prices of what I owed, and didnt even know how to use the camera. She was also EXTREMELY rude to me, and when I asked one question about where I had to sign something, she said "What did I just say?". Also, at the end she said, "I hope that you know where you are going, doesnt seem like you know whats going on." Bonnie treated me with such disrespect, and she assumed that just because I am a 20 year old girl that I am not capable of anything. If you need to get a Passport, I would NOT go to the Orono Post Office- it is worth the extra drive to Bangor.

I was helping an elderly neighbor who has low vision and is very hard of hearing. She was getting ready to go to Arizona for a couple months to visit her twin sister, whom she hasnt seen in almost 25 years. She wanted to put a hold on her mail, buy some stamps for postcards to send back to her grandkids, and inquire about getting a passport (because she and her sister are thinking about going down to Nicaragua with a church group, to distribute donations she recently raised from a bunch of people during a Trump Inauguration party in Bangor. I was expecting it to be a miserable experience, but the gentleman who helped us ("Gary") was incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. What a great experience from the U.S. Postal Service!! Kudos!!!

Went there twice to do a money order. I swipe my card and it doesnt work. I ask if I can use the other card swiper (there are two), and the first time they let me and my card worked fine. The 2nd time, they refused to allow me to use the other card swiping machine and so I had to withdraw money from the ATM across the street for $3. The entire both times they sneered and acted as if I was poor because my card wasnt working, when its in fact one of their machines being broken. How have these people not been reprimanded or fired is beyond me. Probably the worst service I have ever gotten at any non-restaurant establishment.

Always very rude and dont know how to give proper customer service. Also are very unhelpful when it comes to delivering packages and have returned mine frequently just because I wasnt there to pick them up because apparently a mailbox means nothing these days. Would love to see this post office under better management or different employees them maybe things might be better.

I agree with Jamie -- Ive never enjoyed going to the Orono post office. The ladies there are always rude, and my boyfriend has had consistently similar experiences. Go to Old Town or Bangor if you dont want your day ruined.
