Im surprised by the prior reviewers comments below (suspiciously named L and M). I had quite the opposite experience when using a Living Social voucher. I called soon after purchasing the voucher and asked for an appointment during the week before Christmas but said that I was flexible and could do later in January given Im sure they were busy due to it being the holidays and due to participating in the Living Social deal. Surprisingly, they were able to get me in pretty quickly and on the Wednesday before Christmas. Ive been by this place a few times given I live in the neighborhood but have never been in. When I walked in, I noticed how tiny it is but how tastefully decorated it is with its pretty light blue color on the walls, the painted tin ceiling, and the beautiful dark wood furniture. No offense to them -- but you wouldnt think it was that nice inside based upon the exterior. Given I live in a typical small Baltimore rowhome, I was impressed by certain tricks they used to make a small space comfortable (hooks on the walls, towel case mounted on the wall, etc.). But - back to the service - Meghan did my partial highlights and cut. She was friendly but not overly chatty. While I like my stylist to be engaging and friendly, I go to the salon to relax, and I am usually not a fan of forced conversation. I appreciated that she didnt try too hard to be chatty. Prior to beginning the highlights, she spoke with me regarding my color and asked what I wanted with the cut and color. Ive been getting my hair highlighted for as long as I can remember, and I think she took the longest doing it, which I must admit had me looking at the time wondering when I was going to leave, but on the other hand, once it was all done, I could tell why she took a long time -- the color looked fabulous and carefully done. She recommended some products, but wasnt too pushy on them. I did buy some, and Im loving the Paul Mitchell thickening product (cannot recall the exact name... it adds body to the roots). The other ladies working in the salon seemed equally as friendly and professional. They took my Living Social voucher without any appearance of being annoyed of having to accept it. Overall, I was impressed and had a great experience. My hair looks the best it has looked in a while -- great style and cut. Definitely will be back. Thanks! (Additionally - I would note to the reviewer who called the neighborhood "ghetto" -- that is just laughably false. The Federal Hill / Locust Point neighborhood is quite the opposite.)

Where has this place been all of my life? I went in at the last minute today and asked for a cut and color consultation. Lindsay was very professional and thoughtful and recommended a very good color for me, and then fit me in so that we could do the color and the cut. It was a pretty radical change (blonde highlights to red, red red)! She took all of my lifestyle factors into account and recommended a really great color. I love it! She also gave me a great cut. The price was very, very reasonable for the transformation and the time she took with me. I feel like I went on What Not to Wear and have a whole new outlook on life. I have tried the other high-end salons in the neighborhood and I have no complaints about the services (except sometimes they are a bit uptight and too conservative with styling). It is always a challenge to get in to those other places without booking months in advance and sometimes the atmosphere is a little cold, or you feel like they are doing you a favor. Not at this place! Ros and all of the staff greeted me very warmly. In fact, I was drawn to the place because I have walked by several times and Ros smiled at me through the window. I would come back just for that sincerely kind atmosphere alone. But let me tell you, my hair looks GOOD. Ros was educating the staff the whole time I was there, and my stylist, Lyndsay was clearly highly educated. They also were not remotely pushy about selling me the products. I hate it at other salons where they dont say two words to you and then at the end they say, "so how about that $45 bottle of mousse?" At this place, you WANT to buy the products after what they do for your hair, and I left with a great color protector. It just goes to show that you dont need to be the biggest salon to be the best salon. I will be back again and again!

I could practically throw a stone at this salon from my house and am just discovering it! I have a 5 month old so getting to the salon these days is really tough! But not with Studio 7 being right down the street! Lindsey cut my hair, Roz watched my baby (even gave him a bottle) and Chris provided witty conversation. It was a great experience over all! My hair looks wonderful. I have a short cut and am growing it out so Lindsey really shaped me up! She cut my hair, styled it, and then finished up any loose ends/texturized/etc to make sure it looked fabulous all done up. There was no rush and a lot of attention to detail - very high end cut. I got 2 amazing Paul Mitchel products for a steal! AND they have there own makeup line from a former MAC product creator. Roz picked out a great lip color for me! I walked out with a cut, tip, 2 styling products, 1 makeup product and babysitting for less than $100! Cant beat that! I definately recommend checking this place out. I never write these type of things, so you know this was worth it for me =) Dont be afraid to leave your current stylist to give these guys a shot. You wont be dissapointed.

I love this place!! I moved to Baltimore 18 months ago. I checked reviews in a number of places before choosing a salon. The first place I went gave me the most boring haircut and boring experience. And, it was EXPENSIVE! The second place I went to on the recommendation of a co-worker. The haircut was fine, but the salon was not a great experience. Again, expensive. Finally, I decided to take a chance on Studio 7. I could not be happier! Molly cuts my hair, but everyone in the salon is so nice and welcoming. I get hugs from almost everyone as I walk in the door. The place is clean and calming. (I love the music!) Molly always chats with me about my hair for a few minutes before she gets to work. And shes a really talented stylist. Shes very nice about listening to what I say about my hair and accommodating while also encouraging me to be a little more adventurous. (Thats right, Molly--I know what youre doing.) I am so thrilled to have this great salon in my neighborhood. Never before have I had the urge to just stop in and say "hi", but I do here. I recommend Studio 7 Salon with the most enthusiasm! (seriously--they are not paying me to say this!)
