Beware!! Do not go to Freestate Auto & Truck if you value your money and your vehicle. They will charge outrageous prices, ruin your car, lie about it, then charge you again to fix it. Had my car worked on at Freestate twice within 15 days for a coolant and oil leak. Spent a total of $2845.74. Everything seemed fine. I worked from home a lot during that time so I didnt drive the car that much. Two weeks later I started my car and the engine starts knocking/tapping. Brought the car back to Freestate and they held it over night running test. Freestate called me the next morning and said my oil pan was dented badly and leaking oil and it wasnt like that 2 weeks ago. I never hit anything because I hardly ever drove the car within those 2 weeks. Freestate even suggested that maybe I hit a speed bump with ice on top of it.??? I know I never hit anything. Besides it was a former police vehicle with a clearance level of amazing that Ive had for almost 8 years. Freestate told me it would be another $800.00 dollars to do the work of replacing the oil pan. I took my car home, then spoke to several mechanics from GM/Chevy, also a rep from Mobile 1 oil, and Autozone. Turns out since Ive been using Full Synthetic Oil for years and its a high mileage car, Freestate should have put Full Synthetic oil in the car instead of some other type of oil. Freestate offered to do this after the fact, but again, they wanted to charge me for this even though it was their mistake and they were the last people to work on my car before the engine started making noise. Freestate has good mechanics, but if a mistake is made, the company "WILL NOT" take responsibility for it, and they will look for even more ways to charge you more money even though they ruined your car. I took my car back thinking they would look at it for free. Sandy the Service lady told me they would only charge me if they had to take the oil pan off and look inside but she was just going to have her Mechanic wipe the oil off from under the car. She didnt say anything about charging me for that. Yet, when I got there to pick the car up. She charged me over $70 dollars, just to wipe under the car off. Freestate Will rip you off and lie about what youve agreed to and what they said to you. I went back and forth with this company for days and asked to speak to the manager (Charlie) several times but they told me he wasnt there all the time. Finally Charlie calls me back days later and told me he would look into it and do research and get back with me that evening or first thing in the morning. I havent heard from him since. Its been 5 days. Dont waste your money or your time on this company or youll regret it and be without a working vehicle after spending thousands of dollars like me.

I took my truck to Freestate on Mar 9th for a vibrating pedal and grumbling sound that happened sporadically when applying the brakes. They diagnosed the problem and quoted me one price. The next day they told me they found a vibrating pedal and grumbling sound other than the one I explained. They wanted to charge me an additional amount of money for their misdiagnosis. We somewhat settled that issue, then on the day I picked up the truck and took it home (Mar 18th) a few hours later I saw puddles of fluid that leaked from the driver rear side of it. I took it back to Freestate today (Mar 20th) and they told me it was a rusted brake line leak. Freestate replaced all of my brake lines less than a year ago so when I reminded them of the repair work from last year; they told me they replaced all of the lines except that one. Now they want to charge me more money for a job that should have been included in last years work. So as of right now I still dont have my vehicle and theyre still trying to stick me with additional charges that I dont owe. I definitely feel like Im being scammed. I feel like theyre trying to taking advantage of me because I am a woman. Its sad that companies thank its okay to treat veterans like this.

I took my 2012 ford transit connect in for numerous problems the customer service ladies were very nice but when I picked it up it had a new noise coming from the rear passenger side drum. They replaced all the pads on the front and back so I thought maybe it didnt get put back together right. I took it back no big deal I thought. I received a call a little while later informing me that the rear pistons were locked up and it would be another $400 after spending $7300 the first time I couldnt say no so I said go ahead thinking nothing should have to be done for a long time. I picked up the van and unfortunately there shops right off the highway so at speeds over 30mph you cant hear it. But when I got off the highway near my house the noise was as prevalent as ever. I wonder if any one bothered to test drive it at all. I called and sure I can take it back again but its clear that my time and money didnt matter much to them. I dont want anymore charges from them so I guess Im stuck going elsewhere. Maybe I just have crappie luck but Im frustrated

Free State Auto is terrific, they provided knowledgeable, professional service. Their techs take the time to explain everything to you. Their prices are reasonable. I really enjoy that they are interested in maintaining vehicles with products that work and are proven, like BG products. If you maintain your car, it will last. Most people let their car fall apart before they bring it to a mechanic, which is like expecting a doctor to transplant all of your major organs and extend your life 20 years! We all need a mechanic that we can rely on. Free State is a reliable shop with reliable people!

I was very dissatisfied with the service that I received with this company. They were supposed to fix a light switch, and one of the mechanics made an error fixing something that had nothing to do with the original problem I came to them for. I was guaranteed that what he messed with would be replaced and the part would be ordered and I would be called once this part was delivered. To do this day I have not received a call, nor my issue with the car been fixed. I have been calling constantly to no avail. This is not how you treat customers, I would not recommend this company.

My GMC Yukon Truck with over 250,000 miles has been maintain by Freestate with outstanding service. Anything that can go wrong on this truck with the high mileage, they can fix it. I continue to take my truck on long excursions to Pennsylvania, West Va., North Carolina, etc. I know one day my engine or transmission may malfunction and if so I may replace them through Freestate.
