This is the place I undo all my eating during the week. Its not the biggest gym but It has almost everything you need! Workout? They got the weights and machines you need. Sometimes it could get busy during the evenings and you might have to wait for some equipment. But I generally come around 3pm and its perfect. Pool? Got it. 4 lanes with a lifeguard 24/7. Studio? Yup. They have a huge variety of classes and the other times you can use it for whatever you need. Did I mention they have 2 studios? Clean? Definitely. They have microfiber towels located all over the place and enough spray bottles for everyone to carry one around. The locker rooms are nice and clean as well. Staff? Awesome! They also have a place for kids (slides, rock climbing) and for certain times they even take care of your children while you busy out some weights. Only complaint is the hours. I wish they would stay open longer. They do open early though (if your a morning person..not me). Overall, its a nice local, family y location. Ive been here when I was in high school (great price for students) and now Im here with my family (awesome family price too).

My son took a 7 week swim class at this Y. The cost was extremely affordable and my son was doing great. On his 5th class his regular instructor informed me that she would not be there for the last 2 classes but that she would leave notes about his progress and recommend he be advanced to next class to the final instructor. This did not happen. The final instructor is the swim coordinator and he was terrible. My son was afraid and did not perform well for the final instructor because the instructor was too militant in his approach. My son has generalized anxiety and is not good with change especially bad changes. In only 2 lessons the swim coordinator decides my son cant progress and even calls him lazy when I had my son demonstrate that he can swim when the instructor got out of the pool. He stated the previous instructor left no notes. Either she didnt and she is at fault or he never looked and he is at fault. Either way I will save my money and take over swim lessons myself.

Water Fitness: I picked this Y because its 5 minutes from my house and after trying several fitness options found that I love the water fitness offerings. My concerns are this: the Water Zumba instructor is way to fast during her steps - she is not in the water with us and tend to disregard we are pushing water and she is pushing AIR!!! So frustrating! Secondly, the water and air temperature is always chilly, Ive often asked the life guards to keep the entry door closed so the cool air from the main gym doesnt flow into the pool area, but they continue to be more concerned with their own comfort verses the paying members comfort. I am in search of a different Y and will try the Perry Hall location to see if its more accommodating. Otherwise the Parkville Y is wonderful!!

I went to this YMCA to inquire about signing up for a membership. The front desk workers were not only unhelful but rather mean. They refused to even show me around the gym and insisted that I had to sign up for the membership before I could basically do anything. Needless to say, I will be signing up somewhere else.

This is a great facility. Everything is clean and well maintained. There is plenty of cardio equipment and I never have a problem getting on something. The pool looks great. Weight room floor has never been too crowded for me to use the equipment I want. And, the staff are SO friendly and nice.

Im not currently a member, but I am looking into joining and I just want to say that it is AWESOME that you guys respond to the comments. It really shows that you care and are concerned with making the members experience the best it could be.

Its close and not too far out of the way I give it that. The staff can be meh, what I mean by that is they can be rather unwelcoming at times. Will have to try out another one Y of these days.

Great place but no basketball goal thats adult size for me to shoot on after I work out so I split time with this location and Towson. This is only a mile from my house so its more convenient

Perfect..... extremely clean and the selection of equipment, and services reflects in the price. Only issue is that the basketball court is a youth court.
